  1. Thank you for getting back to me. Reseating and checking the CPU for any bent pins is pretty much the only thing i haven't tried yet. I should have mentioned that although the BIOS was running at a very early version when i first built the pc, and first encountered the issue with the RAM, i have since updated it to the most up to date version, with no improvements to the problem. The RAM still only wants to boot from slots 1 and 3. I will also say, whilst i plan to check the cpu, my main boot drive failed last night unfortunately, so i will do so after installing a new drive tomorrow, so as not to delay my access to the pc for work and other use. Aside from updating and resetting the BIOS, i tried loosening the cpu cooler mounts to reduce stress on the board, also the screws nearest the RAM dimms, but to no avail.
  2. Hi, I recently upgraded to a new motherboard (GA z270x gaming 7) in order to achieve better temps and overclocking for my cpu. However, upon first building my pc i moved my RAM into the slots 1 and 2 (spaced) for dual channel, and was met with a reserved error code and subsequent boot loop which would not allow me to enter bios. After moving the sticks around, i settled for slots 1 and 3, the furthest away from the cpu, as they allowed me to boot to bios and fully load my pc. I thought nothing of it as it recognised my 16GBs of RAM and was running them at their correct speeds. The problem reappeared when conducting a benchmark and the results showed my run performing poorly, given that it was in single channel, not dual channel. Since then i have been fiddling with the RAM and realise that i cannot boot from channels A1 and B1 (slots 4 and 2), only A2 and B2 (slots 1 and 3). I have tried each stick seperately, and the problem still persists. I can boot to bios, but only from slots 1 and 3, the furthest from the cpu. Please help, any suggestions will be much appreciated.
