  1. Something to consider - I noticed you are forking out a lot of cash for that 1TB m.2 drive; whilst I understand this is totally per use-case, I've personally found it more cost effective simply buying a 256GB m.2 drive purely for windows plus the odd application, and leaving the rest for a larger hard drive or equivalent priced SSD. For example, I recently purchased a 256GB Adata m.2 + a 4TB Seagate HDD for just over £100. Food for thought!
  2. Whilst I didn't check with another PC, I did confirm both the cable and the monitor work with a PlayStation 3
  3. I have just finished building my new rig, however I am totally unable to get the system to post and into BIOS. I have tried almost everything I can think of, and the only points of reference I have are the indicator LED's from my motherboard (ASUS Prime X570-Pro). Each time without fail, the motherboard shows a constant white 'VGA' light as well as a green 'Boot' light. Looking at all the connectors I can see they all appear to be seated and in the correct position, everything lights up as expected and my water pump spins up just fine, however the monitor just stays blank. I am using an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, 64GB DDR4 memory, a GTX Titan X, and a 1000W PSU (HX1000). So far I have tried reseating the RAM sticks, tried 2 different HDMI cables coming direct from the graphics card, also tried the motherboard HDMI however I don't think the 3950X has onboard graphics anyway. Also tried reseating the GPU, and with the VGA light being on I thought this would be my issue, however the GTX logo lights up fine as well as the fan spins too. I am currently in the process of clearing the CMOS by removing the cell battery. I've only built one system prior to this, and I am no expert. Please comment anything that could be a possibility or a fix. TIA
  4. Another option for sure, the PSU issue I have covered with a Corsair HX1000 Titanium mind you. Thanks for the suggestion
  5. Interesting, i'll look into that. Also a good call. Didn't realise how cheap these cards were used. Thanks for these suggestions guys.
  6. Hey all, I'm currently considering grabbing a used Titan X (Maxwell) GPU for £230, for a new build, as a 'placeholder' until the new RTX 3000 series arrive next year, at which point i'll probably get a 3080ti or whatever the new flagship card will be. It's going to be paired with an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X CPU on an x570 motherboard, and 64GB of RAM @ 3200Mhz. I'm wondering if this is a good idea and if there are any other cards that offer similar (or better) performance for around the same price. I'm not concerned if they are used/new as like I said earlier, i'll be replacing in a few months. Any ideas? TIA.
