  1. I don't know if I have the motherboard manual. The computer was sort of a gift, and I haven't opened it up to check out even what motherboard I have.
  2. Oh dear. Are you absolutely sure? My old roommate, who left this computer behind when they moved, used to game on it all the time. It didn't run the games, which were mostly newer, especially well, but maybe it could run the older ones on a virtual machine?
  3. Sorry, is it hyper-v or hyper-y? I will try them both out, thank you! Is there a specific way that I need to download virtualbox or the-other-one-whose-name-is-still-unclear to make sure that it's for windows xp or older?
  4. Oh okay, that's good to know. I have games like Zoo Tycoon (and all the expansion packs, which I'm very proud of), but also old JumpStart educational games. I'll try them all out, just to see.
  5. Intel Pentium G3240, and 16 GB of DDR3 RAM. I don't know about the motherboard or GPU--the computer was kind of a gift, and I haven\t opened it up yet.
  6. Cool! Thanks! Would you mind telling me if there are any specific differences between hyper-v or virtualbox? Are there any definitive benefits of using one over the other?
  7. Hey, thanks a lot! :] Are these patches safe to download from just any ol' site?
  8. Alright! Thank you for the recommendations! Where might I find these patches?
  9. I don't know if they do, but I could definitely try it, you're right! Thank you! I just edited my post because I realised I didn't mention, I want to record myself playing these games, so I would probably need to run them on the newer computer so that I can use the video recorder that is already installed on the newer computer.
  10. I definitely could do that! But I just clarified in my post that I also want to record myself playing these games, and I don't have a video recording program on the old computer, and I do on the newer one. What is a dual OS system?
  11. What is compatibility mode, and how does it work? Perhaps I should have mentioned, and I will edit my post so that it reflects this, I also plan on recording myself playing these games, so it has to be on the newer system, so that I can download a screen recorder. I'm wanting an emulator so that I can use the newer computer in order to record.
