Hi, I am currently building a new rig and playing in a $25k Apex legends tournament tomorrow my old rig is mediocre and i was hoping to play on the new one.
I have an issue with the following components because i (stupidly) did not check if the PSU would be compatible.I do NOT plan on overclocking anything in this rig.
I9 9900KS
Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master
1 Year old Corsair TX750M
G.Skill Trident Z 2x8gb
Corsair H150i PRO
9 Month old Gainward Phoenix Trip fan RTX 2080
The Motherboard has 2x 8pin connectors
The PSU has 1 Fixed 8 pin CPU connector and one modular port which says "4+4 CPU"
1. Can i power this rig stable with 1x8-pin? I have seen conflicting posts on this both here and other tech websites. So im not about to just try.
2. If that is not so - what is the difference between 8pin and 4+4 CPU? According to https://www.corsair.com/us/en/psu-cable-compatibility i cannot use "Type 4 - 8-pin EPS12V" or the "Type 3 - 8-pin EPS12V". If 4+4 CPU is essentialy an 8 pin i might have more luck diging up or getting hold of a cable.
3. Recommended PSU to order online if this one is not sufficent enough?
Thanks for any input.
