  1. I want to clone windows from one drive to another. Sorry about the title confusion, I'll fix it now.
  2. Could anyone give me a detailed step by step guide on how to move windows from one drive to another. Or link me to an article or video that does the same. Thank you.
  3. What kind of issue did the clip have that it didn't before that taking it apart would cause?
  4. Hi all, hope you're having a good day. Last night I was repasting my gtx 1060 and after the first attempt I reinstalled the card into my pc and it did nothing but power cycle. The GPU itself would turn on but it would just keep on power cycling. I took it apart again and cleaned it extremely thoroughly of all thermal paste and tried again. This time the system booted up just fine so all is good. Can anyone possibly give me a reason why it would fail like it did the first time? Thank you.
  5. DDR4 for sure would not be useless. DDR3 is still performing like a champ. I use DDR3 in my own rig. If you know for sure you'll need it then it may be worth to pick up a good, fast kit of DDR4 just in case prices do rise. I don't think you'll regret it ?
  6. The LTT video yesterday motivated me to finally get the SSD I've been wanting. What did the video convince you to finally buy before prices go up?
  7. Prices are very likely to go up soon for many computer parts. The prices will go back down again but no one knows when that will be.
  8. Thank you very much! I'll be watching and attempting later. Will keep you posted with the results.
  9. UPDATE: I went into afterburner and set a much more aggressive fan curve rather than running stock. The fan curve I set is pictured below. At stock I was getting into the 70s and 80s within maybe 4 minutes of gaming. With the fan curve I set I stay in the mid to upper 70s for maybe 20-30 minutes before I start to get to the point where I am thermal throttling again. Let me know if I should change it in any way. Thank you.
  10. I saw that as a suggestion on other forums also. I'm a complete noob when it comes to tinkering around in afterburner. I'd love to give it my best shot but I need to feel confident in what I'm doing. Any good tutorials that go in depth you know of?
  11. I've never really messed around with my fan profile. Any suggestions?
  12. Hi everyone, hope you are having a nice day. I recently bought a used Zotac GTX 1060 6GB Mini off of Ebay and today after gaming with Afterburner's OSD for the first time today I've noticed my card is heating up to 82C almost immediately. 82C is the point at which the card begins to thermal throttle. I plan on repasting the card in the next coming days with some Corsair XTM50 thermal compound I have and seeing if that helps. If I don't see any real improvements I'm going to try swapping to a 3rd party cooler (specifically this one: https://www.arctic.ac/us_en/accelero-mono-plus.html ). If there is any other course of action I should take please let me know. I an provide a full spec list if it will be useful. Would love to hear any thoughts/suggestions. Thank you.
  13. Full specs are: Intel core i5 4460 @3.2GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM @1600MHz, Zotac GTX 1060 mini 6GB version, and 500GB HDD. The games I am hitting a cap on are borderlands 3 and fortnite at a mixture of medium and high settings.
  14. Hello all, hope you're having a good day. I am currently running with 8GB of DDR3 RAM @1600MHz in dual channel. I am looking to upgrade but is the jump to 16GB worth it over 12GB? Will I even notice a difference? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thank you.
  15. Hi everyone, hope you're having a good day. I have the choice between upgrading to 16GB of ram from 8GB (DDR3 @1600MHz) or getting an SSD for my system. I currently am running off of an HDD for everything but I am also hitting RAM caps while gaming so I'm torn. I'd love to know your opinions on my upgrade path. If the full spec list will help just let me know and I can provide. Thank you.
  16. So whenever I play my first few matches of fortnite I get horrible frame drops/ general choppyness when I'm landing and for a little after I've landed. The first match is always the worst and it progressively gets better over time. I've recently put together my first build and I'm sure I'm being bottlenecked somewhere. PLEASE HELP! My specs are: Intel core i5 4460 @ 3.2GHz, 8GB of DDR3 RAM at 1600MHz, GTX 1060 6GB version, and a HDD. Would love to hear your input. Thank you.
  17. I just finished my first ever build. I had a low budget so the specs aren't the best but I'm happy with it. I purchased a refurbished dell inspiron with an Intel i5 4460, 8GB of DDR3 RAM at 1600MHZ, and a 500GB HDD. I then upgraded to an Antec High Current Gamer 400W 80+ Bronze PSU (a craigslist find for $25 USD new in the sealed original packaging). Lastly I got a Zotac GTX 1060 6GB Mini on Ebay for slightly over $100 USD. Let me know what you think of the parts I chose and what upgrade paths you think I should take in the future. Thank you.
  18. I recently picked up a Dell tower to build my first gaming pc. It has an i5 4460 and a 400W PSU with one 6 pin connector for a GPU. I'm looking for a graphics card to put into it that will pair well with the other parts. I have a budget of around $100 USD. But I can go a little over if it's worth it. Please give me your suggestions of what I should look for

  20. Alright thank you for the help and advice.
  21. My budget is around $700. Can be slightly over if it's really worth the extra cash.
  22. If I were looking to build a small form factor pc with a goal of playing most modern games at 1080p 60fps, what should I expect to pay (in USD) and what parts should I look for? A part list would be very helpful.
  23. I bought an energy drink and a protein bar this moening
