  1. Hello everyone, just a quick question. What is a safe temperature for a GPU to run at under heavy load? My card came with the temperature limit set to 83⁰C and I feel like this is pretty low.
  2. So I just upgraded my PC and I now have some headroom to overclock. I have a Zotac 1060 6GB Mini running at stock now. I've never overclocked before but I'm not entirely unfamiliar with it either. A quick walkthrough or some links to good videos would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
  3. I'll have to look into it. I'm guessing I'm going to have to get in touch with my ISP
  4. This is my current router: https://www.amazon.com/Linksys-E1550-Wireless-N-Router-SpeedBoost/dp/B00630RVJO
  5. To be honest with you, I don't have that info. I'm looking to get this router for my parents as my mom is currently working from home
  6. That's with a few devices connected at the moment so its probably not exact. Also, I'm on the other side of the house while testing
  7. I get like 10Mbps download and 11Mbps upload. I have no clue if that's good or not lol. The test said it was typical
  8. Hi everyone, so I'm looking to buy a new router for the first time in probably over 7 years. Suffice to say, I have no clue what I'm looking for lol. I need something that will be powerful enough for a medium size house and about 5-6 connected devices but not always at once. I need something that will be enough to handle gaming/HD video streaming simultaneously. PLEASE HELP
  9. The 2 top dust filters seem to use screws that will work. So I guess if I dont buy more fans I just have to deal with a missing dust filter. At least it wont be a populated fan spot but still. Seems like not very much though went into that
  10. These fans came with the case. The only screws I have for them are the ones they were already in with. Those screws dont work because they're designed to be mounted at the front. They aren't the same as the noise isolating mounts. No other screw included will fit the hole. I think I'm just going to have to take a dust filter off from the top and use those screws
  11. Hey everyone, recently I bought the Fractal Design Focus G and I'm preparing it to be built in the coming days. My stupid question is: How do I swap the fan placement?? Don't get me wrong, I know what screws are and how they work. Thing is the front case fans are screwed in with what looks like a specialized screw for the front. My case manual doesn't mention anything about what other screws to use in what's included and I don't think trying random screws willy nilly is a great idea. So please, help me figure out how to screw in a fan I'll include pics of the screw, front mounting holes, rear mounting holes, and screw holes on the fan:
  12. I was thinking the same thing. One front intake and one rear exhaust. I'll most likely pick up some more fans in the future. I doubt thermals will be an issue regardless, just wanted to see if it would make any real difference. Thank you
  13. Hi all, I recently bought the Focus G case from Fractal Design but I've discovered a dilemma. The fans from my old case are far too small for this case. They're crap and loud anyway so whatever. My question is, what is the best placement for the 2 fans that the case comes with? The Focus G has mounting locations on the front (2 possible spots), the top (2 possible spots), the back (1 possible spot), and the bottom (1 possible spot because I'll be using the drive bay). I'll put a picture of the case below: Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  14. Thank you again. You've been a great help
  15. Gotcha. Thanks for the help and probably the $100+ of savings. Any sata SSD recommendations?
  16. Well, obviously I prefer performance over price. But if there's no real benefit between the two what's the point of creating a new form factor?
  17. So I'm not going to be purchasing anything yet but, I just picked up a mobo with pcie gen 4 support and was wondering what m.2 nvme drive I should look into putting into it. I prefer something blazing fast and with at least a TB of space. I really have no clue what I'm looking for so any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. This will be the boot drive for my system and also the storage for games with long load times. Thank you.
  18. Would it be dangerous to use? My main concern is it frying another component. I probably will never push it too hard but there are times when I have gaming sessions of a few hours
  19. Is the PSU actually dangerous to use? I can't seem to find much bad about it besides the occasional DOA review. I understand that I get what I pay for, as long as it won't fry anything.
  20. Sadly I do need a board with wifi. I'll do some more research into B450 boards. Is the PSU that bad? Is it dangerous?
  21. Why does the mobo suck? All reviews I saw of it were just fine. And yeah the PSU could be better but its still from EVGA and not some random company
  22. Hey everyone, hope all is well. I just placed the order to essentially rebuild my entire PC. Right now I'm running a Core i5 4460 @3.2GHz, an old Dell OEM mobo, 8GB of DDR3 RAM @1600MHz, GTX 1060 6GB, 400W Antec PSU, Dell OEM case with horrible airflow, and 1TB of storage (500GB SSD and 500GB HDD). I'm making some major changes and this is my first time really building a PC from scratch so please let me know if there is any issues with compatibility or anything. Pretty much all I'm carrying over is my GPU and my storage. This is the list of parts I'm going to be getting: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor $172.76 @ Walmart Motherboard MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard $209.99 @ Best Buy Memory Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory $64.99 @ Newegg Case Fractal Design Focus G ATX Mid Tower Case $57.98 @ Newegg Power Supply EVGA 550 W ATX Power Supply $65.08 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $570.80 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-05-03 09:41 EDT-0400
  23. Thank you, you've been greatly helpful.
  24. I forgot one thing, the mobo needs to be wifi compatible.. I can go a little higher on the budget if needed to make it fit. Also, shouldn't the RAM be a little faster than 2400MHz for Ryzen?
  25. Hello everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my PC by swapping out the motherboard, CPU, and RAM. My current specs are: Core i5 4460 @3.2GHz, Dell OEM motherboard, 8GB of DDR3 RAM @1600MHz, GTX 1060 6GB version, 500GB SSD, 500GB HDD, and a 400W PSU. I'm also looking to replace my case because the airflow in my case now is horrific. I have a pretty loose budget but I would like to stay under $450 USD. Also, I will be using this PC for mostly gaming (Fallout 4, Minecraft, Borderlands 3 just to give some examples). Any suggestions for what parts to go for? I would like this replacement to last me for the next few years if possible seeing as I'm not made of money lol. Thank you for any and all help!
