  1. Hey @AydenF1 I'm currently building a pc for about $400. It's used though. Based on an optiplex 9020. However, it'll be able to run most, if not all new games on high settings. If you're interested, here's a link to my build: Feel free to aks me more if you have questions. I think I'm getting pretty familiar with this platform lol. Been planning it for quite a while.
  2. Accually both go in perfectly fine. The left four (on my and on your picture) have 2 pins with 90 degree corners (which line up with the port on the motherboard, but the right 4 pins have all round corners on my connector (so also fits).
  3. I see, okay! Well, if it doesn't work, at least I might have an idea why Thanks
  4. Yep, but does it matter what 4-pin I plug in? And yes, sata data are also connected to the motherboard, but so is sata power at the moment. So I was wondering if I could connect those sata-power to the psu directly so I can get rid of those ugly cables. Sata data cables have to stay connected to the mobo of course. It is an optiplex 9020 MT ATX. Here are some pics:
  5. Hello, I'm doing an optiplex build and am currently replacing the power supply. The motherboard only has a 4-pin cpu connector, however my psu has an 8 pin (2x4 pin). Does it matter which 4 pin I use? Also, the sata power cables are currently connected to the motherboard. Would it cause a problem if I connected them directly to the power supply? Thanks so much in advance!
  6. Yea, and to be fair, a 7 3750h, 560X, and 144Hz monitor for around 650$ looks too good to be true to me. In Belgium at least. I also find it a bit sketchy that a intel i5-9300h with a gtx 1650 would only have 4gb of ram. Not to mention that I don't think a gtx 1650 fits in a laptop. Only a 1650 Mobile Max-Q would fit.
  7. Looks solid. You can probable get a cheaper ssd without losing much performance if you want to save a buck. What exactly do you want to do with this?
  8. The amd one already has 8gb of ram (intel one has only 4?) + it has an Nvme SSD (intel only has a hdd, 5400rpm). The amd is also about 10-20% faster/better in most benchmarks. On the other hand, the 1650 is quite a bit better. So assuming you are willing to upgrade the ram, can and will add an ssd, the intel can be a better machine. Otherwise, the amd one will be more balanced. Can the gpu on the amd system be upgraded? If so, go for the amd one and upgrade the gpu.
  9. And how would turning the system on and off work?
  10. Ah thank you! However I think my new psu's cables are all black. Is it 100% safe to short those cables?
  11. Hello everyone, I'm currently building an optiplex 9020 MT and I ordered a new power supply and a Moddiy 24 pin to 8 pin converter (the mobo is 8-pin in the optiplex). However, the moddiy converter is shipped from Hongkong and I'm afraid it might take a while to arrive here in Belgium. So my question is: Would I be able to keep using the stock power supply for the motherboard, cpu, etc., but connect the new power supply to the gpu (needs 6+2 pin) until the converter arrives?

Checked intel hd and nvidia display settings?
  13. Well, a deal came up... I bought a Gigabyte GTX 970 4gb for €90 ($100). I also ordered a Moddiy 24-pin to 8-pin converter. The only thing left is a power supply. Some pictures of the 970:
  14. As a gpu, I'm leaning towards ordering an Inno3D GTX 1650 super X2. Does anyone have experience with this card or with the Inno3D brand?
  15. check ebay and aliexpress, there are some deals to be found there. Also, if they are as expensive, might be a good moment to upgrade to ryzen?
  16. There is no problem with your gpu. Your gpu can just handle a better cpu than your i5. You might be able to up your settings. The game will become more gpu intensive then, and thus, your gpu usage will be higher
  17. The ssd is "installed", suggestions for ways to mount it better are welcome
  18. Hello everyone, Great news! The optiplex arrived yesterday. I've done a few tests and everything appears to be working fine. Let the project begin! First thing on the list is to add an ssd to boot on. I went for a cheap Western Digital Green 120gb SATA ssd. I have 2 free Sata power connectors, but don't have a free Sata data connector. So until I get another Sata data cable, the optical drive will have to sacrifice its cable Here are some more pictures of the pc:
  19. What games are you planning on streaming? I don't think a ryzen 5 3400g will be quite sufficient to game and stream at decent settings, resolution and settings? EDIT: Ah I completely got your goal wrong, sorry mate. Ignore my response
  20. Do you have free ram slots? You might be able to get a cheaper 120gb ssd and 4gb extra ram?
  21. What are you using your system for? As long as you don't bump into your ram limit, you won't notice a difference.
  22. Hey there, As minibois said, a full spec list would be needed for a definitive answer. However, in general, the ssd would be the way to go. Believe me when I say a new world will open
  23. Wow looks absolutely SICK! Awesome, enjoy it! I love those Lian Li O11 cases! Ordered an optiplex 9020 that should arrive later this week, might be a cool project to put the optiplex internals in a Lian Li
  24. He might have a point in going for the 2700X since he wants to stream with this pc. The higher core count will help with this. Otherwise this seems a really solid PCPartPicker.
