My dad used to be that way. When I was a lot younger and knew nothing about computers, my dad demanded that I always power the monitor off only after the computer turned off lol. And that the desktop (or tower as he calls it) be turned on before I turn the monitor on.If I did any of that out of order, he made it sound like the computer would self-destruct lmao. Got curious one day and didn't do it in the right order. That's when I realized my dad knew nothing about computers. 10 years later and I'm the one in the house serving as everyone's IT support person -_-

Nobody has a right to complain about anything if it's in their power to fix it which in her particular case, buy a new computer.

Tablets and smartphones are making them stupid. Soon nobody in my generation or younger will know how to use a desktop.

This is actually an experience with a techie. Those of you who work in IT and fulfill help desk tickets please take note.

At my job, I had to put in a request for more memory. My work computer with only a few programs open and a large Excel spreadsheet can easily max out the 2GB of installed RAM. My supervisor told me to put in a support ticket for a request for more RAM so I did. Well today someone comes to fulfill my request...

I pulled the desktop from underneath my desk far enough where he could reach it and take the side panel off while everything was still plugged in. He continues to tell me that he doesn't want to "electrocute himself" in a relatively smart-ass way and proceeds to unplug everything from the rear I/O panel. Now I know it's not the proper way of doing things but I mess around in my PC all the time while it's turned on and there is a snowball's chance in hell that could happen. I'm both laughing in my head and semi-irritated with him at this point. He said a few other things that made me lol but that was the highlight for me.

He also treated me like an idiot. I find it ironic because we both work in the IT dept as interns. I'm with the networking/server admin group and he's in help desk. I'd expect, but not necessarily agree with the treatment if I wasn't in the IT department because I know how people can be at times. However, we both work in IT so one can assume that I know a decent amount about what he's doing. However, that's besides the point and I won't dwell on that. Moral of the story is this:

If you work in IT and fulfill user requests/help desk tickets, be sure to treat everyone respectfully and explain to them what you're doing if they're interested. Also try to establish some small talk to make the situation less awkward. Being a smart ass continues to perpetuate the stereotype that people working in IT are unfriendly and have poor social skills.

if you end up buying it, dont bother trying to put a different OS on it. it wont make it a better device.

Maybe this is a silly topic, idk lol. I can't think of anything else to make a thread about on here so I thought I'd give this a go.

    Anyways, I'll start first.

    I'm rather torn.
I mean, yay new Nexus with dual tone flash, laser auto focus and a finger print reader!
But nay for the color, and it looks...cheap. I also wish they had a different material or something for the fingerprint sensor. Some way for it to stand out more when feeling around for it.
Meh for the camera hump. I couldn't care either way, though no hump would be nice. This is probably second best though.

I hope the NEXUS letters don't start to fall off like they did on my Nexus 5...

Can't wait to see what that phablet looks like.
Still have my fingers crossed for dual SIM.

If this has front facing speakers like the rumor says, and a big battery, it might well beat out the OnePlus for me.

I've been away from this thread for some time now because taptatalk wasn't working and I don't care to browse this forum on my computer. In the last week I sold my 13' FZ6R with 7K original miles for $4K.
Took delivery of my striple yesterday. Belly pan and fly screen are on their way here

I almost bought a RX but I was too late to order one unfortunately but the differences are cosmetic so I don't care too much especially getting the matching accessories for free through the promotion. Triples are amazing engines. I can't emphasize that enough.
