  1. hi, i haven't tested the ryzen yet, but it should work! cuz there is nothing different here between your system and mine. use the latest solution(a few posts later than that one). using "display fusion", you can do everything without the windows multi monitor, which is kind of problematic! right now i'm using the card for every game that i can find and it does work flawlessly!!! the only game i've got a fullscreen problem with, is Warzone which i solved the problem with another software named "Borderless Gaming"!! i recommend you to flash you graphic card bios to a gaming version, be careful about which version you're using! for me the original version was working fine but it was a mining card and had a few frequencies underclocked and others overclocked and it wasn't meant for gaming but after flashing, it's like a RX 470 nitro+ completely!!
  2. hi, what happened to the method that i explained? if nothing else works out for you then there is only 1 option left, buying another cheap DX12 supported Graphic Card like nvidia gt 605 or gt 610 and getting the picture from those cards and setting the high performance graphic card to the p106. if you have a mobo which has more than 1 PCIE, i'm not sure which card should be put on which pcie slot. well i haven't tested it yet, cuz i don't have such a card, but the rules are the same as the integrated graphic card and it doesn't slows your ram performance by assigning ram to the integrated graphic card.
  3. Happy that you've got it to work! sorry if my method was confusing, but i have to say, it's even confusing for myself!!! it's something that nowhere else has been ever tried or mentioned and it got me several months to figure out!! why the windows, is able to recognize the 2nd monitor as the primary monitor with the dedicated graphic card which i don't have a graphic card which is capable of having any display output cable connected to it? but it can not choose the dedicated graphic card as the primary processing unit? btw, i don't have that problem with windows anymore!! because i'm not using the windows multi monitor system anymore!! exactly because of the situation you just mentioned which sometimes you can't see what's happening! i used a multi monitor 3rd party sotware and nearly solved all of my problems!!! except the warzone being played in window mode and when i do go full screen, the game gets to the other monitor and crashes!! that's the only game which i have this problem with! idk the rules of this forum for mentioning 3rd party software, but i'm going to say the name of the software which i used!! it's "display fusion" and it got a lot of things, easy for me! it's fantastic!! right now i'm gaming with the rx 470 and considering to get another one for Crossfire!!
  4. ok guys, latest solution: you don't need to disable the integrated graphic card at all!!!! firstly i have to say that i connected two display cables to a single monitor!! one from the graphic card(the graphic card does not work but the windows recognizes that there is cable connected to it) and the other from the IGPU. 1. using special WINDOWS key+p and set the multi monitor to extend so you get a picture like a ultra wide monitor but with 2 different desktops!! extend monitor option has two ways, in which you can have the right side or the left side to work with which has the dedicated graphic card as the display adapter!! by pressing the Windows Key+p again or mouse you can get to the side which has the dedicated graphic card as the display adapter!!! 2. ok, there is catch here!! start any game that you want, but the games start in the other side of the extended display!!! which is annoying and i couldn't find a solution for it yet!! maybe i'm doing something wrong or there should be a third party software which could solve the problem!! the only solution that i have right now is to start the game in window mod and use the mouse or ALT+Space and select to move the window to the other side of the extended display and voilla!!! the game runs smoothly and without any problem!! it's so funny that microsoft stops you from using the high performance card selection, but it does not have any problem running DX12 games like Warzone or any other game in the extended monitor!!! and there is no Warzone DX12 encounter problem BS before starting the game!!! anyone knows a multi monitor third party software which i can use? so maybe that one solve this game(and everything els!!) starting on the other side of monitor!
  5. why won't it launch? any error? haven't tested any of these games, do tell which DirectX versions, these games use? well sometimes u have to add the games manually to make them work in windows 10 high performance graphic card! i mean after disabling the integrated graphic card, you have to add the games and put the dedicated card as their high performance graphic card, i think this is all intel's fault for not having a proper driver for these 3rd or 2nd generations. i can see all over the net people complaining for not be able to choose their dedicated graphic card as their main graphic adapter for a lot of things. right now i'm figuring out why the games are not running smoothly! there this windows file"desktop windiws manager" (i think it's actually the multi monitor app for windows) which causes a lot of gpu usage and instability. basically what i did was mirroring the picture of the games which were running fine on the mining card in bakcground by making a duplicate out of the graphic card output without having to connect it to a monitor. i hear there are other application that can do the same thing. there is another idea too, using net(or maybe home network) to mirror the picture of the games with the mining card to the system which i am working with. it's a long shot.
  6. hi guys, found a work around for the people with systems older than 4th generation intel cpu who can not use High performance graphic selection in windows 10! it took me a while to figure it out, but it's nearly a miracle! saw a lot of people having the same problem for running Warzone because their integrated graphic card is not a DX12 supported card! well here is the solution for you! well as i've said it before, the only way for people like me to play games(DX11 or DX12) with a mining card which doesn't have a display output(it works for other people as well), is tricking the games with integrated graphic card and disabling it before starting a game and forcing the windows to choose the dedicated graphic card, then after starting the game for better fps, enabling the integrated card! which most of the times, didn't go well and fps was obviously limited for some reason! when i was testing the witcher 3, found out the game works fine, but the game is kind of laggy and has a limited FPS and i couldn't go fullscreen with the games because when i tried to go fullscreen, the games got minimized and i couldn't switch to it(the only option was borderless fullscreen which was limited FPS). figured out, the game works fine, but windows won't switch to it on this monitor which i have connected to it! so the solution was easy!!! 1.use the multi monitor system in windows 10 with special keyboard WINDOWS key+p and switch to duplicate the monitor!!! 2.disabled the integrated graphic card 3.start the game(what ever, dx12 or dx11 doesn't matter) 4.voilla!!! playing games without any problem!! I have an AMD RX 470 mining edition which doesn't have any display output, except one, which is a hidden HDMi and it doesn't work, but for some reason, if i connect it with a hdmi cable to my monitor, the windows figures there's a 2nd monitor connected!! so this way i can play the tricks on windows and force it to go multi monitor!! of course there's a hitch, the games look kind of like playing without vertical sync!!! if you are going to enable the integrated graphic card while in the game, in most cases that i tested, causes them to crash or limit the FPS, that's why i'm looking for other software solutions so i can do this without using the windows multi monitor system or disabling the integrated graphic card, damn microsoft and intel with their driver and DX12 features. wooww my hands shaking!!! hope u enjoy gaming, i'm going warzone awaits me!!
  7. heard some people able to run the game in linux with older versions of their driver. so maybe it's not impossible to run, but with some fps drops and some bugs. as far as i know, nvidia drivers had some problems with running the game properly and it was too much Vram usage!! the game uses a lot of vram with different textures quality. i'm stuck at medium! but other than that, other options are at the max(ultra nightmare?) and i get about 50-60 most of the time. except for some very rare situations that i get about 40 fps.
  8. hope it does. i was thinking of adding a fake intel igpu in windows and work with that, if micorosoft adapter works, why not a fake one? of course for now i'm using the adapter. do u have a driver problem with doom? i think there was a way for going around that, it was a file named "launcher.cfg" in the game files, the last 3 lines(i think u should have 2 at least) have "1" in front of it, if u change them to "0", i think u can go around the gpu driver check. but of course i hear the old drivers won't work properly.
  9. ok. another funny thing happened today. finally today managed to run Doom eternal on my RX 470!! uninstall the Intel Driver and run the with microsoft basic display adapter!!! of course the basic adapter is just for the output and the RX 470 runs the game. so for those of you who have problem with running doom eternal, becuz of the old intel cpu. i suggest u uninstall the intel driver and use the microsoft basic display adapter!! why does basic adapter capable of running the game and the intel driver is not, is beyond me. btw, the game run fully functional with 60 fps in nightmare setting and lower texture quality.
  10. ok, i'm not sure if anyone els mentioned this, but every new card that came over the last 6-5 years, are PCIE 3.0!!! at least and now we're talking about PCIe 4.0 with new cards. when u check it with something like gpuz, it's always on power saving mod, so the card is not always at it full speed and not using the power. u can make the card show it's real potential by clicking on the question mark beside the information about PCIe, to do some rendering and start using the card, then u'll see the card working at x16 PCIe version 3.0 if your mobo support it.
  11. Have fun. it doesn't work for me, at least not with good frame rate. it's about not switching to the right graphic card from the start, it's intel's fault for not developing the drivers for the DX12 and even Vulkan for their older hardware. they don't even have vulkan support for their 6th generation and older...
  12. @Snowarchthx for the rply. for starters i have to say my knowledge of linux is none existed! tried installing it for playing some games(i think the last time i used the linux was ubuntu version 16? and i didn't enjoy the expriment!!!) but this time i get a liking to it. haven't had the chance to play borderland 3(maybe i should use my gtx 970 and windows for it) but i have 3570k on this system and i dont have a p106!! i'm using a rx 470 mining edition. sorry for misleading u. i'm using pop os 19.10, it has the latest drivers pre installed, ubuntu ruined every feeling i had for linux with driver installation problems. but i tested different version like fedora, solus with different base and kernels and decided POP OS was the best of them all for gaming. as for doom i have to say, the game only uses vulkan and if i remember correctly, DXVK, means DirectX to Vulkan and it doesn't mean anything if the game won't use DX. when we are using the intel integrated graphic card as the display output, it seems it should have the minimal ability to run the DX12 or Vulkan so we can run the games. but this is for windows, it's funny how linux doesn't have this problem!!!(damn windows) and i said it before, i use the card for playing resident evil 2 DX12 version without any problems!!! then why Call of duty warzone won't work? or maybe metro exodus? there has been a proton version 5.4 GE and people say it could run it with low frame rate, someone said their 1080ti give about 40 frame at best!!! they said AMD Cards give better frame rate but i couldn't run it at all!! the game won't even start. some people said the DRM Free version works, but it didn't!! tried to even update to the latest kernel i could find(i think it was 5.5.11), but it didn't do anything. next i'm going to try and use ubuntu 20.04, cuz they are saying the game needs the latest vulkan driver and i couldn't get it whatever i did.
  13. maybe i didn't understand what ure saying, but the game only uses Vulkan API, So dx is out of the question, in linux and windows. funny isn't it?
  14. has anyone managed to play Doom Eternal? Looks like Vulkan API only works with top tier of intel cpus and their older graphic chips, won't support it. the game won't even start for me. it's funny some people say it might work in linux, but i could not get it to work properly. damn windows.
  15. hi guys. has anyone looked for something similar to lutris in windows? some app which could force the use of specific hardware, namely graphic card? btw i was even looking for some software that could make a launcher for games, so i could make a launcher like eidus, which would have the same effect. there were some apps, but i could not get them to work properly. mostly the problem was the games having issues with the launchers.
