If it works well there is probably nothing to worry about just let it do its thing.

If youre worried about crypto mallware do a fresh windows install for peace of mind.

6400 is very ambitious, most likely the cpu mem controller cant handle that. Just turn it a bit lower and see if that revolves it. Try 6000.

AMD only guarantees up to 5200 on that chip, above that you need to be lucky. Though 5600  / 6000 is usually fine.

Did you already install the 5800x3d? Could be that the new bios dropped support for the 1400.

I agree with you both @Sjaakie and @Eigenvektor. Better wait till is actually out. And performance wise I am happy right now as you mention it, will save the money for when the moment comes, thank you a lot for the quick answer!!! :D.

Are you happy with the performance for current games? If you are don't upgrade now, upgrade when you need it. You'll get faster hardware for your money in the future. GTA 6 for pc will take at least 2 more years.

Sjaakie reacted to Stahlmann in Can my pc handle a 240 hertz monitor?
Your computer is capable of driving a 240Hz monitor. But the fps you're gonna get depend on the game. Go with 1080p and the 4060 should be able to deliver fairly high fps in most games.

Games like Valorant for example will run 240 fps no problem, but other games like Cyberpunk will probably run closer to 60 fps.

Since the i9-11900KF only supports DDR4, you'd also have to change your CPU in either case.

I'd say the system is likely still pretty decent. If you want to go 1440p, you'll most likely not need to upgrade anything but the GPU.

Upgrade if your current system isn't enough for the games you're playing right now. Don't upgrade now for future games. Wait until the game is actually out and we have an idea how much performance it needs. Otherwise you'll likely spend money on components that might be too slow again by the time the game does come out.

What device did you get from the ISP? If it's really a router it should be in bridge mode indeed, you never use 2 normal routers for 1 network.

Though I still think your TPlink should be able to handle local traffic in any situation.

If you're connecting from the same network and using your own router the ISP should have nothing to do with that. What changed in your network setup with the new ISP?

Can you reach it from another device?

Sjaakie reacted to ARandomPerson in Not sure if this is coming from gpu or aio and am worried because I never heard coil whine that sounded like this before.
If you only hear it during a GPU-intense load then most likely it is the gpu. An aio would have a gurgling sound due to air bubbles.
Given what you are describing, it is most likely the GPU.

If at all possible go ryzen 7000. It's on a new platform so you have great cpu-upgrade possiblities down the road without changing motherboard and ram. And it's faster ofcourse.

Watercooler is overkill for that cpu, I'd rather go air cooling for a first build.

For Ryzen 5000 you need DDR4 ram indeed, DDR5 will not fit.

I'd also skip the HDD unless you have a specific use case for it like storing a lot of video files. Otherwise stick to SDD. 2 TB is great for gaming, and you expand when you feel like you need more.

Watch gaming benchmarks for your components on youtube to see if they fit your expectations.. And look into the monitor, resolution and refresh rate are important factors.

The board is fine, the 7800X3D draws no power so any AM5 board would do OK (though I'd try to avoid the A620 boards if at all possible).

I would strongly advise at least going for 32GB of RAM. No matter how you do 16GB, you will end up with significantly less performance than a similarly clocked 32GB setup. Besides, the difference in cost between that 16GB 5200 setup and a 32GB 5600/6000 setup is relatively minimal for the amount of performance gained.

Sjaakie got a reaction from Ottoman420 in What CPU should I upgrade to? (HELP!)
5800x3d is an easy upgrade. Ryzen 7000 also need a new motherboard and ram, so will be way more expensive.

Though if your fps was fine and suddenly dropped it doesn't sound like the cpu is the issue to be honest.

Nice room. Where is the pc?

Seriously though you may need to configure them in iCUE software. Do you have it installed? You need to enter the amount and type of fans and arrange their position in the software.

Do you have them in port 1 to 4 on the controller? Don't use 5 and 6 if you have 4 fans.
