  1. So I am finally ready to revisit some flash games but can't find that original flash game archive project download 2-3 years ago. I believe the initial project had 931G of download,
I googled but I can't find that original project, or did it evolve and change their look? Does someone have a link to that original project(I believe linus or techlink did made a video about it)?  I won't care if it is torrent. I beleive it is 931G or there about.

Otehrwise what are some of the flash games you remenber to help me juggle my memory?

They're just files, so if Recuva works, you might get lucky and find them. Insert obligatory "you should backup important files"

I'm recovering as much file as possible now, some are marked red so won't be able to recover all. though managing them will be hard afterward. Have no idea where everything will be. Any idea on how to manage this?

When you select "keep personal files", it only means certain files below C:\Users\<username>, like images and documents. It will not keep apps and their settings. It's very unlikely you'd be able to recover anything since the reset process most likely has overwritten stuff.

Is there a way to recover cryptos? I have like maybe 50 box in cold wallet from years before when I'm curious about this crypto thing.

Thanks for lettign me know, it gives me an idea to use recuva, I'll try that and not crossing my fingers it may work. Will try anyway.

How did you "reset" Win-OS? Did you do a fresh install? If so, not much chance of recovering anything I'm afraid.

I got so frustrated at the slow buggy windows(more then normal) plus I have been hacked last week and been dealing with that most like a virus, it's removed. It was slow and buggy even before last week. So got so frustrated with windows I decided to reset via the setting app, I did chose to keep my data but it apparently didn't.

  6. So after more then a week of frustration dealing with a hack(viruses) and slow windows, I got really frustrated with windows (being so slow and buggier then normal) and being hacked in the last week made me mad so bone headed I reset Windows with the keep all my file option, ended up losing some important data and extensions plugin data (one tab saved link/tab maanger) on chrome. Plus some cryptos in my wallet app I completely forgot, it isn't much, maybe 40 box when I explored how it all worked. And some other apps that I can not find on the search bar that was on desktop before the reset. I tried to use the restoration point but it didn't register anything, I am not sure if it deleted those restoration point after reset. Please help. If there is anyway to recover the data before the reset.

Secondly, I have now a folder marked windows.old in programm I think, is there a way I can also manually recover the data from the pathwork? I tried it but didn't find any data inside the plugin ID.

  7. @Spotty @Mark Kaine

It's worse then I thought, it feels absolutely targeted like someone is playing with me. Feel just someone is playing or feel like maybe a teenager doing for fun. I have been getting notification and verification code or successfull access from account's that I rarely use anymore or almost have no idea exist anymore and or thought they have been deleted. Not all at once but slowly getting more notification from various sites such as aliexpress, zoho(had no memory or little to what it was) and others from 11-15 years ago even , when I am still playing flash games.

Edit added after: And just find out my netflix been changed to vietnamese and been accessed via vietnam. Seems they put their hand on my password manager on chrome and screencapture it? Dunno exactly what the malware is, but I ahve a suspicious it's a remote control, especially after the pop up of that if you wanna run that programm when I catched it.

(And I still haven't recover my paypal or my amazon account, need credit card verification and no idea where is my phisycal credit card(been a long time since I have to setup anything more) nor do I have my old number)

It is just so fucking inconvenient and annoying. Among them my youtube accouts, and yes, that sync and history is absolutely somethign to improve the quality of life even if I hate the recommand first page when it doesn't any new video style.

Did you reuse the same password for different accounts?

Maybe some, I am not too sure, I di have like 4-5 I use usually and rotate between them. Though some of the pattern of the hack fit that, some others doesn't. Still dunno and need to reserve a time to review everything.

I wonder if anyone got into my paypal account. I haven't logged in on it in 15 years, and my 'information' on it is far more out of date than that. I don't even use the same lending institution anymore... And I don't have access to the emails used to sign up for the account, anyway, since they were deleted years ago after too much inactivity.

I got unauthorised payment made. I did contact paypal and flagged them as unauthorised. In the UK and I am not from the UK. The thing is I have all their address as they added them to paypal and I saved the address. Though I dunno what to do with it.

  10. Update: I am still trying to gather the information, I still have no idea if this is a targeted hack or a mass hack. I secured most of my accounts, one thing I noticed is my pc become buggy and fan run at 100% and when I open task management it says file explorer is taking 70%-90 of cpu runs. it is weird, then I got some app trying to start and a pop up window on, then I realised oh ok I may have a viruse or so, and I can't delete them. Then I installed a new anti-viruse bc the old one seems less capable(I know it before but it provide some other features)and then did delete some some of them(seems to delete some other files too make the system less stable) but seems to get ride of them for now. Then I find out my youtube uploading some videos that wasn't me, and one of my yt account suspended although I never upload shit really apart from maybe a game clip maybe years ago. Now I am getting less critical msg but consistent msg of other service security emails such as weath simple(they didn;t get in and I never yet used get on their platform and use the more traditional institutions platform) and others.

As for paypal, I think I got back a unauthorised spendings. Yet my ms account kept getting foreign unauthorised sync, seing location most start from Ukraine and then jump away to all the countries and unsuccessfull sign in in other cities. I have their adress via paypal, I am thinking maybe they got paypal via those fitness app as I explain below but then some of the accoutn notification doesn't add up adn no one scenario fit all the hacks.

It feel strange, bc one moment it feel like the hack is all over the place, then targeted, then jsut massive data breach random tries. With steam being the most strange seems jsut someone somewhere in China and brazil(log in location) to jsut try steam somehow(my guess a internet cafe)?. I did watch did I get pawned and I did, but they have been data breach of years ago, I don't have much other account, mostly fitness apps and only 3. Then I wonder why only now, and so strangely? One moment feels like it is my older phone someone is playing with other times feels a massive random tries of the data breach credentials.

Hello, so long story short is I have a pretty expensive high-end PC that I just built and I also have a roommate that I am currently helping out since they fell on hard times. Now, I don't ever want to accuse or assume any bad intentions, but just to be prepared, does anyone know of some software or a pc part I could install that would allow me to track it's location JUST IN CASE it were to magically go missing?

Any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated as I'm only trying to be proactive and having the ability to find my PC's location would be beneficial anyway! Thank you

I doon't think pc offer device tracking unless you custom build a sofware or tracking software and or have linux run in windows so it is easier. Unless you want to customise and contact a software security firm an dhave location log in security and feature tracking.

Side note I imediately thinking this would be a perfect case for manaufacturer to have IPV6 so you can track indidual items and components to the whole system(perhaps only the drive)others mage through interface and remotely can. Though this kind of things poses privacy and once again what different level of grouping you want or you ahve to individually manage it all to different degree depending on the ease of the manafacturer and interface.

If they had access to your email, it means they also had easy access to all your other accounts.

I don't know if you have/had a keylogger on your device or if you logged into a unsecured device with your email, but it would certainly do that.

Best you can do is scan all your devices and factory reset your router just in case they got in there as well. Then change your password, starting with your email, to something unique. All of them have to be unique and not reused pwd. I would suggest Keepass or Bitwarden for the unique password creation.

Just in case, to not lose Steam... If you have bought a game outside of Steam and activated it on Steam with the game key... Save that game key somewhere to recover your account if they manage to "steal" it.

Now that I think about it and recover most of my stuff, and judging by the accounts I have, it may be an old phone I lost 3 years ago(that is another story). I dunno if the place the person who pick up the phone and give them have a policy of destroying the phones. I'll follow up with them. But although from the limited info I have google have that I can view says suspicious app on my__________computer name tried to access which make no sense and I do not remember having steam on my old phone. This just kept getting weirder. Running a virus scan(which I ahte bc they can't distinguish betwwen what I need such as vpn and what is actual malware and have manually do every single one), even so deleting some suspicious thing it is still so weird this whole things.

  13. Update: Worse then I thought, I do have a bunch of steam transaction I do not recognise in foreign currency but weird enough it is only in 0.01 cents like 20 times and at the end trading card? Like didn't even know about trading card games of the games I play until now totalling .20$ and +.01 on my balance at the end. Weird, plus I have no payment methode linked. Tis weird.

The worse part is my paypal seems have been comprommised and have buy I do not recognise.

I've also gotten spam, that someone logged into my instagram account. (which I had created over 5 years ago, and used only once) Gotten in in my hotmail.com spam folder. The used e-mail adres seemed to be valid, but the "not confirm username change" was an extremely suspect link.

My guess would be a round of scam spam. Am I worried for you? Yes, because you seem to encounter it allot. Am I worried about my own instagram account I only used once, 5 years ago? Nope. Because I don't care about that.

It's from google themself security email. and sign you out of all devices and force you to change password. I have been hacked once before in facebook like at the early days, but pretty sure back then was on of my classmate who did it. And perhaps that is part why I never got into fb mucha and don't use it much(though still sad if I lose it, school memories still have some lol). Either I see it or not it is there.  This time it got completely suspended and twitter too, actually both twitter got suspended and the new one only 2 month old I think(was thinking making a bit of memes but never got to it and thus never used it).

Did you are do you use Last Pass? Because they cracked it. Norton's password manager I think was cracked as well.  Just saw that PayPal might have been hacked. All you can do is change you passwords and enable 2FA on all accounts.

No, I only used google's and apple's password manager. I kept looking into it, my outlook or ms account activity seems more suspect. But I dunno if it is them bouncing off stuff across or it is suspicious for real. Also is there inherant risk to Imap? These are not my IP adress, but just in case I removed some number.

  16. I do get reguarly emails and account notification about security, but this morning 6 and more of my accounts at about same time required me to change password and go through recovery after it sign out and lock down from various services, MS, multiple google account. Apart from that steam have problem as well.

Twitter suspended(haven't used in 2 years), fb(which haven't used for a long time and almost an og account)suspended as well.
I reviewed activities, nothing out of ordinary. except maybe on one account (unrecognised activity, but history shows logged in via it before 2 years ago which baffles me) but things do not add up.

What else should I do(apart from the change password), is there a way to know what's going on? should I be worried?

  17. Well, I will say I completely understand why, I am a bit of perfectionist myself and won't start something unless I have the best stuff or there about at times. Or the tool in my head,  brain image, ie I procrastinated screw in a wall screw for a electrical plug cover bc I didn't have my electric drill screw when my snap on ratchet will do or any other. Then forgot or still didn't find it, then at the end 3 month later I am like this have to be done and finished it, then find my what I was looking for 2 days later. This just an exemple, other stuff on the to do list been therr for 6 month, a year and more, the thing is that some people like me, have a hard time doing temporary things, either we are full in or not. And it is ready lots of snugs and exceed the time.I guess it is true of most ADHD.

So yeah, but it is wither that or make do just whatever, not happy and not registering as your doing it, kind want to forget and don't have that finish excitement.
I use Xcloud and GFN at times, not best quality but convenient  when you move a lot. What I mean is there 2 kind of make do, one that get over another you don't get over it and your mind is a mess bc it doesn't register you done the job. So at times just stop without saying "quit".

Admittedly I don't miss Cortana on my pc but I do miss her and my windows mobile. Cortana was the best assistant hands down on mobile.

Was great on phone even on android, which is when I first tried it, almost bought a BO smart speaker with cortana, just once again the integration is the problem. Side note I loved Windows 8 and 8.1, albeit a bit less on the 8.1. Was one of the first adapter of 2 in1(Dell xps)with wqhd+ 3200x1800 screen In 2013.

At times when look back just feel things are going backward, design wise it beat a lot of current design sleek, thin and carbon fiber. Feel no one is bold and adventurous to try new designs etc.

This is really weird to me people think of Cortana as an "assistant", but hey if it works (well worked) for you then all the better.

im kinda weirded out there isnt a mod or something to add her back to win10/11... i suppose newer versions of win 10 have her also removed?

The app does nothing btw, just being there and being pretty.

Yeah, the thing is she had the most personality out of the 4 so called "ai assistant". Also work better for internal search for windows settigns and apps unlike the search box now.
Albeit a bit slow and always require sign-in which I never got over, bc I just skipped and just went the long path of file explorer and said I'll fix sign in it later if I know where it is. Now I have to word 3-4 tries in seaerbox if I ever get it. I do feel if they put an animation and more game cross over instead of a circle which is more suited to be pink(movie: Her). Having this weird wronf association in my head back in the day.

P.S.In google case I consider it a starch assistant, alexa an execution assistant(smart home)so really the only one left is Siri which never really got an updater since 2016 ish as personnal assistant.

I'm just going to put this out there. If you are going to post a topic requesting for some assistance that is fine, but if you are not willing to do some of the footwork yourself, you're asking in the wrong place. We cannot answer, help, or assist unless you, the one with the issue, do the leg work to provide the information we need to assist in a solution.

Part of Troubleshooting is troubleshooting and yes, there is a level of laziness involved here. We can't read minds, and we cannot pull rabbits out of hats.

That said, don't ask unless you are willing to do something on your end to get the results to reach the goal.

Maybe I failed to communicate my intentions, didn't sleep last morning at 3 am it may come out as grubby. I mean I got my answer there is no way around it. I wanted to know if there is a plug in or software or manually a way to inspect the code or how to do it(right click mouse select inspect), or in dev mode. Thanks @manikyath for the help confirming it.

Just curious, does the mods team read everything @SansVarnic? Seeems awful lots of reading.

if you have no immediate idea what a plugin is there for, disable it. if you dont notice the impact of disabling it, you dont need it to exist.

i have exactly two plugins in chrome: an adblocker (that's disabled on a lot of sites), and a noscript plugin (that whitelists most of what i visit regularly).

in theory i also need the e-ID plugin for government sites (they log in with ID and a card reader) but that's not enabled when i dont need it.

Thanks and wow, only 2 plugins only. 🤯. Leets see, so I have 2 vpn plug(not active), one that record what I write so I can recover if I ever accidentally refresh the page, 2 audio eq, adblocks(1 only) tab manager, tab duplicate closer, tab organiser(so it can free ram and put the link on the side) Grammarly and a couple shopping plugs. I already checked and deleted those I do not need anymore or I dunno the use, the rest all have a purpose. So was wondering if say inspection of the webpage inspection mode in chrome I can see what plug is doing what if that can work and what to look for?
