Since Linus only cares about money, the obvious thing to do is to cancel your Floatplane subscription. Also don't buy their merch. Who in their right mind is going to pay $250 USD or $70 USD for a backpack and screwdriver respectively?

Apparently functioning in the real world means guessing at what someone's job entails, belittling it based on your guess and then acting smug like you've somehow won the conversation?
 
You so clearly don't know what you're talking about that it seems pointless even trying to explain what a social media management position typically entails. Would be like asking a dog to grasp the concept of Norway.

I can tell you've never actually worked a single day in your life based on what you're throwing out here not to mention you have not talked to any humans.
 
Why should it be the responsibility of Madison to leave a toxic/sexist environment? Should it not be the responsibility of the management and employees to behave in a professional company? Do you think its okay for LMG to have a culture like this where they ask women to twerk or act unprofessionally because "haha lols funny"?

This is a well polished semi corporate non response to some of the issues that have been raised. 
For me at least they could stop making videos and the world would be better off. I've watched ltt for around 7 years now. And the latest issues that have been brought up just made me sick. Madison being the last nail in the coffin.
 
Even if they will make the best videos I don't think they will be worth watching. Really dissapointing because of the events that occurred in these last few days just buried LTT for me. I am disappointed and LMG/LTT lost the respect I had for them. 
 
They should have waited one more day and address everything. From what happened with Madison, the conflicts of intrest, how to make sure these will not happen again, to what they have said in this video regarding production. Maybe they will discuss everything on wanshow, or they will make a shirt with "we didn't sell it we auctioned it" or "thanks steve"

This! This I think is the *REAL* issue. This has the potential to damage a company legally if these are proven true

I feel sorry for Madison. She finally has the courage to speak up about how she was treated, in a workplace that literally led her to self harm, sexual assault and constant unbearable pressure, even voicing her worry about the kickback from people who will blindly deny her experiences and claim it’s lies…. And that’s exactly what happens. People call her a liar. If you are one of those people, you are the reason people who are victims of abuse don’t speak out. Hang your head in shame.
 
I feel sorry for Steve at GN. He can’t win. He’s had to tiptoe around saying anything too critical of LTT for years because of the fanbase and even when he speaks out and other people back up his claims, he still gets accused of witch hunting, and gets railed on by Linus who still hasn’t apologised.
 
I feel sorry for Luke too. He’s always been the sensible one and tried to fight fires, I don’t think he’s involved with the sexual harassment thing but admittedly he’s pretty open about the FP dev team working HARD. I hope they get a break and better conditions. But I also feel bad for Luke making a 69 joke… just as accusations of sexual assault are made against the company.

Hey, look - that apology video could've paid for re-shoots of the Billet video...

I'm more worried about the Madison situation than video accuracy or even the Billet labs thing. 
 
Sure 3 tweets 2 tiktoks and whatever, i won't comment on the quantity of the workload, 
 
BUT her work being denigrated and insulted, and her job being threatened by "upper management", there needs to be something done about this.

I am a watcher of ltt videos for a long time now. In my opinion for the last 6ish months the quality of the videos degraded, and the mistakes lately are unacceptable, at least in my humble opinion. I wanted to recommend the mouse from the short circuit video to a friend but after seeing it had "problems" I decided not to. My bad for not watching multiple outlets but whatever. 
 
What I find fascinating is the whole Billet Labs situation. Many people already said it. It is unacceptable. What I find to be even more malice/incompetence at the highest level since I don't know how else to describe it.... In a recent wanshow I think it was 2 weeks ago(not sure please feel free to correct me) Linus said that he was not pleased to see a prototype backpack at the Expo and that the employees should not give those away. In the same spirit how can you auction off a prototype of a small company with the founders working thier entire lives to bring to life and wanted it back? after bashing them 2 times and not even testing it correctly. This is a situation that made me incredibly mad since Linus/LTT don't seem to care how much harm they can do to a startup that makes a cool innovative product, yea it's expensive, but what if in 3 years is less than half the price? I feel like I start to ramble so I will say just one more thing. 
 
LTT should not put down a company just because they don't like the product.
 
I really hope this is a wake up call since the objective that LTT has is a good one and I hope they don't forget it as google did with "do no evil"(or smth similar) 

I don't think that 90% of Linus ribbing employees in videos is real.  Men rib each other.  That part is ok.  Where I really saw signs of abuse of power was when Linus told the audience that there's a rule against the audience knowing the name of a newer hire.  That new hires are on probation.  Ouch.  Abusive stuff.
 
A few things:
 
I don't think the Billet story was such a big deal.
 
Linus had a lapse of judgement, and the company was disorganized, everyone will forget it. He's not in charge anymore etc.
 
And maybe Steve managed to put pressure on them to make more accurate videos. That's a GOOD thing.
 
But this is a problem. It's a media group, their appeal is mostly that people have parasocial relationships with them. People LIKE them. Think of them as friends.
 
But it sounds like upper management was limitlessly cruel and allowed their employees to follow suit.

And that's not even touching the sexual harassment that wasn't dealt with either.

Men often treat young women amazingly badly. I know a few who have the worst attitudes you can imagine.  And that's not even counting the nerds who came on to her. I don't understand men and I'm a man myself!  And I don't think we don't want to face how common it is. 
 
This story will make people very uncomfortable.

When the video broke out from GN, I initially defended LMG and Linus. Mistakes happen. Its alright and Linus did say (although saltly) that they were going to fix things and implied that the billet labs incident was already being taken care of.
 
But, after reading billet labs' response that they only got intimation about all these things after GN broke out with the piece, and if what Madison wrote here is true, there is really no justification for Linus or LMG as a company. I cannot stand by them anymore and this has honestly become heartbreaking and its made me mad. If everything Madison has said is true (which we will need other employees to testify) then for the sake of my morales I cannot support LMG and Linus in any capacity anymore

Wow, I'm blown away by the responses in this thread. This is some pretty damning information that backs up other allegations and many of the responses are "haha gen z needs to grow up". Linus' own statements about "unless they take us to court, we didn't do anything wrong haha" statements back this up, but I guess I'm not surprised a lot of this community is neckbeards like the management. Treating people like shit is not "gen z whining", but I guess I'm not surprised by a bunch of people with zero social skills or awareness.
 
You can watch the videos LTT posted and see how poorly Linus treats employees and covers it up with a "haha just kidding". Several times, comments Linus and other people on camera have made inappropriate and rude to other staff, especially those "still on probation". The way they all act and things they say on camera do point to a "dude bro" tech culture which is well known for this type of exact behavior.
 
But of course, this forum is full of people that will fight tooth and nail for the tiny $100M "startup" that can do no wrong.
 
Between all the bs this week, Linus' piss poor response, this and the community's response, I'm done. I'm unsubscribing from everything and not recommending LTT or LMG videos anymore. At the start of this, I had hope it could turn around, but LMG and especially Linus have dug themselves such a hole, there's no remedying it anymore. Linus has shown how much of a terrible person he is and at this point, if he changes, it's because of money, not because he cares at all. He proved that by only trying to make things right with BilletLabs AFTER the GN video and even then, still didn't pay and STILL tried to make it seem like it wasn't his fault and everyone was over reacting. He got caught with his pants down and still tried to make it seem like it wasn't his fault like a child and only did what he did to try and save his bottom line.
 
 

You gotta do what you gotta do for your mental health. You can't just bottle it up forever. If her allegations are true I do not blame her for speaking out against LMG and I do not blame her for waiting until now to do it.

I don't get the bickering here. Madison has nothing to gain from coming out. She knows the fanbase, she was the fanbase, and she's been getting harassed by the fanbase. this coming out will not get her a better job (if anything the opposite) and it won't get her positive interaction on twitch or wherever she goes.

First he drops the Floatplane sub numbers like a freshly released GPU and now he speedruns #metoo

Agreed - she doesn't need to name names, and not doing so is a choice she has 100% a right to do - let her speak on her terms, it's her story. She's strong for doing this.

So, overworked worker was sexualy assaulted, verbally abused (improper language in workplace would be enough even if it wasn't constant, like she implies it was) and scared shitless because LMG fanbois sent her death threats... 
 
People here say her work was easy, ok if that's true, why doesn't LMG to this day post as often as they wanted from her? I mean it's easy, right? 
 
Self harm because you're terrified what will happen when you take day off is not a joke, that stuff is serious, you have to be in a really really bad workplace to think "yes, this is the best option" - people will turn it into "she's fragile lolz", but even if she would be, that doesn't make it ok, it's managers job (literally) to make sure something like this never ever happens
