  1. Yeah temps with PBO are around 60c when playing intense cpu bound games. Running stress tests rise them to around 65c max which is expected with that type of workload but what he says is actually true, voltages are quite agressive in stock and PBO operation. Most 3600’s can run at 4.2ghz all core oc 1.25v and temps are waaaay lowe, at around 50c max and 55c max when running cpu intensive benchmarks like aida or cb. Prime 95 is a completely different case, no matter what cpu cooler or thermal paste you use that stress test rises temperatures at around 75c. Still not a realistic scenario for daily use and gaming.
  2. Do you thing I should use LCC low or medium?
  3. This is great! Just what I needed to hear (or read), I’ll try similar settings and I’ll let you know if my overclock is stable
  4. Can you check my bios settings and let me know if I’m doing something wrong? I’ve been using my PC like this for the past few months no problem so far :)
  5. I read that Ryzen 3600 s made after q2 2020 are way better at overclocking that the old ones because those are made under the same optimized manufacturing process as the 3600xt, there’s a discussion about that somewhere in reddit and a lot of people confirm that 3600s bought recently can oc better
  6. Exactly what I tought, thank you for taking the time to answer my doubts! I was impressed by how fast I got replies!
  7. I'll stick to PBO, but I don't know if I'm doing it right, can you help me enable PBO in the bios the proper way?
  8. I notice that leaving the cpu stock voltage go as high as 1.45 and I get better temperature when I overclock my cpu that using it stock or with pbo, does this have something to do with the voltages fluctuating when stock?
  9. I found most people can achieve 4.2ghz with decent cooling and even 4.3ghz, but Idk about the lifespan of the chip.
  10. I'll give this a try, but I think I'll stick to PBO... I'll let you know if I'm able to squeeze more performance out of my 3600
  11. I think I'll just stick to PBO and done... I have a good cooler but I don't want to risk my cpu, things are expensive in my country and with my teacher salary I can't afford to buy a new cpu hahaha
  12. Hi guys, my name is Carlos, I’m from Mexico (English is not my native language) I’m kinda new to the ryzen experience and I’ve been running my 3600 at stock speeds for the past month, I started to mess a bit with the bios to see how far can I push my cpu to get better performance. I’m currently running using only PBO. I don’t see a difference in performance to be honest and I’ve decided to start messing with the overclock settings. I’m aiming for a modest 4.2ghz all core overclock but I’m kinda scared because of the rummors about degration in Zen 2 processors. I think I was able to get 4.2ghz all core at 1.3v using LLC medium and it seem to run just fine, but after further investigation I found that running that voltage and fixed frequencies might not be good for the cpu, then I found guys running their 3600 at 4.3 or even more at lower voltages. As you can see I’m not very experienced with Ryzen and overclocking, I just upgraded from a 6600k and overclocking is completely different, 7nm is waaaay different. I’m looking for advices and see how far can I push my ryzen without risking to shorten its lifespan. Btw, I was going to buy a brand new rtx 2070 super but I’ve decided to wait a little bit more for the new rtx 3xxx or big navi, that’s why I’m running only a gtx 1070.
