  1. I have bills included in my rent for the foreseeable future and am in a fairly stable financial situation. I was looking at some ASIC miners and it seems you can get some for £200-300 used* that can mine currently £5ish worth of their respective crypto a day This seems like it would be a worthy investment especially as these things have been around for a few years and the newer miners aren't THAAAT much more powerful that I worry another will come out before the payback time and increase the mining difficulty to insane degrees. I'm asking if this is thought to be a decent investment given my circumstances. Are there any pitfalls I haven't laid out will 1500w of power draw 24/7 get me kicked out? (I mean I've not heard of that kind of thing happen ever and I'm going via a decently sized firm for housing so I can't imagine them being able to kick me out for using the power they provide.) Are there cheaper miners out there? Do used miners much like used GPUs have reputations? Thanks for your time.
  2. Oh Sorry, an rx 470 I think I'll be sticking with that TDP or under in future aswell and I'm pretty sure the morpheous would cool it and better than an accelero s3 but the question is will I get 10-20 40? Degrees under thermal throttling or will i be riding the red line all the time
  3. Because it's *silent* like actually, unlike every other method regardless of what people say, I've had fans I've had water, I wanna give it a shot, also if I kinda wanna see if I can just keep 1 cooler indefinitely.
  4. Has anyone ever used this cooler passively if so was it any good? Better than the Artic Accelaro S3?
  5. Hmmm, OK, well, can I pitch my idea of what I wanna do? (Just cos I think it's cool and wanna write not cos it's practical or anything ) ...I've got a 8700k that I also want to passively cool I think I might downgrade from this through so I can do it coolers like the Thermalright Macho 120 seem decent or the Silvestone Heligon HE02 V2 or Nofran Coolers and at some point I also hope to find an alternative to the SilverStone nightjar series which are TOOOO expensive. I'm thinking of just selling as much as possible to go back from 1440p 144hz to 1080p double monitor as honestly, as much as I LIKE the benefits I could invest that money elsewhere in other things and experinces I enjoy and instead just make mini projects and upgrade in different ways, maybe just play at ridiculous settings and play my VR setup (I am one of those with windows MR as my living arrangements can't facilitate too much in the way of arrays) or go for a fully portable setup, find some easy to carry monitor and just use a laptop/2in1 type setup I feel like I'm at a crossroads with this passion of mine, it's not my #1 thing anymore, so maybe I should sell off what I can go to barebones until I can a few years in the future there are really experiences I haven't seen before and new hardware that makes me wanna come back. Even then is that something I can do? Can I really hold off the temptation that is tech? Thanks if you read this far not really sure what response I want, just don't have any really techy friends IRL that get it tbh.
  6. I see that allegedly can handle 360w tdp, I assume with fans but it's like £55 quid, it that worth it for like my £90 GPUs, will it even be future proof? Will any of these?
  7. There seems to be very little information comparing passive GPU coolers, the S1 is substantially cheaper than the S3 (£20 vs £35 respectively) and considering this being my first dive in any kind of customization on my GPUs I have no idea if there are more solutions for passive cooling out their? Are there some bigger buff-i-er air coolers I can just take the fans off? Do I need to disable fans in firmware or something? Help?
  8. Thanks this was really helpful, I will be doing reoom scale stuff and moving around and although I have the horsepower to run the extra resolution saying my favourate game at the moment is doom o.g. and I usd a cry up until 2015 I should be OK with 2/3rds of the rez.
  9. I found two listings if given the choice which would you chose? The Oculus has 3 sensors
