Really good so far. I've gotten so used to my 2012 MacBook Air that this PC feels like lightning. I'm mostly going to play shooters and br's. On fortnite with low settings I get about 450-500fps. and on epic settings its still around 180-200fps with no overclocking

I decided to document my first pc build ever, after getting it fully assembled I went to turn it on and got absolutely nothing, no led's no fans spinnings. So I had to go into troubleshooting mode and all together probably spent 20 hours on building/troubleshooting/watching videos/and posting on forums. I couldn't figure it out so I had my dad come over, who's a master electrician to take a took at it and he spotted the problem in 2 seconds. I had only 14 pins of my 24 pin connector plugged in on my power supply side, while the 10 pin connector was just hanging there...won't make that mistake again. All together I spent just over $1400 before tax. I'm really happy with how it turned out and even though it was a pain in the ass, learning how to troubleshoot will be valuable in the future. Thanks to the people on the troubleshooting thread that helped me out. I also made a video out of it:

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! After about 20 hours of troubleshooting I had my Dad take a look at it and he found my mistake in 2 seconds... I didn't have both pieces of my main power connectors plugged into my power supply. Total rookie mistake but I definitely learned a lot about troubleshooting so I'd say it was worth it. The system looks great imo. Thanks for the suggestions everybody!

Ok, thanks. My friend is getting rid of his old system soon so I'll see if i can test with his motherboard

Yes, I can send a picture/video in about 2 hours when I'm home. I'm honestly thinking it's a dead Motherboard but that might just be a nubie assumption

Hello, I just built my very first computer, went to turn it on and got absolutely no lights or response on the case or any other components. Here's the specs/the troubleshooting I've done thus far in the past 2 days. Also since this is my first build I don't have spare parts lying around to swap out for testing. Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports DUO MOBO: MSI X570-A Pro ATX AM4 Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb Storage: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Super 8gb Gaming X Video Card Case: Thermaltake V200 RGB Mid Tower PSU: Corsair RM(2019) 650w 80+ Gold Fully Modular Troubleshooting Done Thus Far: -Tried multiple outlets and made sure the PSU switch was turned on -Removed the case switch cable termination and made a closure on the 2 pins with a screwdriver -Placed a paperclip in my 24-pin main power connector to test the PSU(the fan did turn on) -Removed all power cables from my motherboard and PSU including my main 24-pin cable, PCIe cable, and both CPU cables and re-seeded them to make sure they had good contact(did this about 3-4 times) -Did the same thing with my graphics card and memory. Also tried single channel memory with each stick -Again, I did this same procedure for my from case button cables including the Power and HDD LED and the Power and Reset switch -Setup a test bench outside of the case to ensure things were seeded properly -Lastly I used a multimeter to do some pin readings on my main 24-pin cable. Hello, I'm building my very first pc, it's pretty much finished and I'm looking back at my manual realizing that I put my GPU in the top slot(which youtubers tell me to do). That top slot is PCIe 4.0 x 16 is there going to be any downside to leaving my card in that spot since it isn't PCIe 4.0? The GPU is a RTX 2070 Super Gaming X, PCIe x 16 3.0. Thanks

It is, but the 2070 super is a RTX card, not a GTX. I’m really not sure what the difference is between those 2

Hello, I’m currently in the process of my first pc build. I was set on an RTX 2070 Super for my graphics card. However I’ve already gotten my monitor which is an aw2518hf, Alienware 240hz free sync monitor(still in the box). I read an article saying that this monitor is now g-sync compatible with all GTX 10-series or newer. Does this mean the monitor will not be g-sync compatible with a 2070 super? If not, is there an AMD card that is similar in performance and price to the 2070 super? Thanks in advance

This makes much more sense, and it looks like the FreeSync version of the monitor is not G-Sync compatible according to Nvidia's list so thanks for the information.

So I'm building my first pc and I am going to be going with an MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Super either the Ventus OC or the Armor OC model. First of all... what is the difference between those 2 models? Secondly as far as my monitor goes I was looking to buy the Alienware AW2518HF(FreeSync for $319) or the AW2518H(G-Sync for $360) will this card be FreeSync compatible? Or should I be going with the more expensive G-Sync model? Thanks in advanced!
