  1. Looking at the EVGA sale for GPU/PSU, currently have a i9 9900k and 2060 with a 1440p 144hz monitor. Should I go for the 3070 or just YOLO and do the upgrade to the 3080 for a $180 difference. I'm wondering if it worth it to just wait it out to something like a 5000 series and just do a whole new build at that point with intel 14th gen/Ryzen whatever number they'll be on? I know that's a little down the road, but I'm wondering if price to performance may take a huge hit with current world events. Should a 9900k and 3080 keep me rolling longer even with the bottleneck or will patience pay off? I feel like if I had gotten a 3080 a year ago, there wouldn't be any regrets, but getting one now finally back at MSRP with the 4000 series dropping in the next 6 months (albeit probably not available for normal consumers like me for 12+ months...) feels bad? Is this one of those situations where I should just put that money aside and do a full over haul, or make myself happy now...lol. Thanks for the help!
  2. I am having an issue with one of my older secondary PCs. Running an i5-4670k, GTX 970, 16gb Ram, Asus Hero VI/Gigabyte Z87-HD3, 750w/1050w PSU. A week ago, I had powered up my PC, went into windows like normal, opened up a program and my PC instantly crashed. I went to turn it back on, and got nothing, no lights no fan, no error code, just a click for power and nothing. Things I tried: Reset CMOS, Remove and switch Ram and slots, Remove GPU, Swap Power supply, try different outlet, even swapped motherboards. After the motherboard swap, I was able to get literally 1 second of fan spin/color etc then immediate shut down. This was on both PSU, and trying to start by using power button, and shorting. The only thing I can think of now is a dead CPU, which feels silly since I never overclocked the CPU and it was under AIO where I monitored temps and everything seemed normal, and even when I peeled it off the paste was still totally normal, not dry at all. I know this thing being 7 years old is almost ancient these days, I'm surprised it would just up and die after all this time. Thanks for any extra help anyone can give!
  3. I'm in a similar boat. Assuming I already have a Motherboard for each (Aorus Master z390, Strix E 570): 9700k - $299 3800x - $329 Idk what to get!
