  1. Never had any issues with micro usb, if anything, i hate 3.5mm jack cause it breaks all the time and haz horrible noises on every rotation after few 100's plugins, but anyways, the european desire to get rid of proprietary connectors is awesome, if its micro usb that is a standard - im fine with it really
  2. I facepalmed all the way through this... One of the worst commercial ever done, really =\
  3. its a macbook, it will just turn itself way down and produce no heat and lag like hell
  4. Hai there! If anyone from Linus crew will read it, please take few moments and do this: 1. Put the headphones on, put that Linus NCIX Tech Tips video on and put the audio levels so that you can clearly hear everything (aka everything to the absolute max) 2. Without changing anything, put any other youtube video on, lets say Elrics video - 3. After an ear surgery to get your hearing back (tehehe), please fix the audio levels in your production. Maybe film like a 5 sec test each time and check the audio levels or smth, i dont know, but its really bad =( I think most prefer to keep their windows sound levels at 50 and then get youtube at close to max, but i have to really turn everything up to hear anything, which causes i.e. random skype messages during a video kill my ears, and if i forget to put sound levels back at normal, any next youtube video molests them again Sorry if anything sounded rude or demanding, I just wanted to point that issue out again, not like its the biggest issue in the world, but still an issue! Cheers for amazing content
  5. I don't understand people sometimes... They care enough about Linus to ask questions like the OP, but not enough to actially follow the channel and watch the videos? Linus said he quit NCIX so many times in so many videos
  6. are clients using win 2012 server as a dhcp aswell? that might be the issue
  7. Every1 should use bottom mounted fans if the intake is filtered! Plus sides: 1. Cold air is always at the very bottom. 2. Directs fresh air to the graphics card, n o matter what style fan its using (blower/open). 3. Helps natural convection - heat rises! 4. Helps to build more positive air pressure inside the case. Don't use it if you have no clearance beneath the case or no filters on the intakes tho!
  8. Used AVG and Avast, also Kaspersky Internet Security. Both free versions of avg and avast let some viruses right past them, i.e. hosts file changers. Kaspersky payed service was really good until i switched to win 8 and they had some problems at launch, and i decided not to use it anymore. Atm im running win 8 smart screen+defender+firewall. Can't think of a reason to get something else for my PC
  9. elaborate? So many posts here saying "fanboy" equals "fan" equals retard. But its not >.< Being a fanboy who trying to force his opinion and showering the competing brand in dirt and willing to spend enormous amount of money just for the name is really bad. Loving the company, being a fan of its style and products, but having no hard feeling about competing brands is absolutely normal, i'd say even ideal. We all have our preference in say milk brands, cause one might have a cuter cow on a package, but milk is milk you know.
  10. I always liked nVidia style, naming, overall position on the market with some extra cool features like physX, tesla, cuda and whatnot. Love their software side, control panel etc. Dunno, but ATI (now AMD) always felt like cheap solution when you are limited by budget in overall feel for me. So I know for sure id never buy AMD graphics card for myself. If nVidia card would be 20$ more expencieve for 5 less fps, i'd still buy nVidia, just cause i like it. On the other hand, if AMD would come up with something really awesome that nVidia would not have, and the game i like so much would support it, i'd definitely go AMD
  11. Hope Intel won't EA it... Ho ho ho. On a serious note, let's hope its not the last news article we see in this, as it always happens with new energy tech
  12. Im sorry but whaaaaat? What does the vga switch have to do with anything i described in my first post? :s
  13. I would not call any of my purchases really that bad, but if i had to choose the most disappointing ones: Gigabyte z68xp-ud3 rev1. Voltage is just random on this one, if i set something in BIOS, it comes completely different in OS. It might be something bad with the board or smth, but im just generally unhappy i went for something like that and not higher end model. Id go Asus from now on. Corsair Voyager 3. It just broke, the connector tore apart from carrying it in my pocket. I understand that its mostly my fault for bending it too much in the pocket, but really, from a model designed for travel i was expecting more =\ Didnt even bother to RMA since its kinda cheap. Got a replacement from work - new 32gigs corsair survivor. Corsair h100i. Had a grinding noise problem and non working fan controller on first unit, was able to return and get a replacement at local shop. Got the new one which started with a grinding noise again after a while. Turned out the h100 didnt really like my CORSAIR (!) PSU (650 watt CX series iirc, the semi modular one). Had do to use my fractal design fan controller to get the voltage right for it to stop the grinding noise. NOT impressed with Corsair =\
  14. Heya, found an interesting read from inside of Microsoft coding team. One of the coders anonymously posted a blog named "I Contribute to the Windows Kernel. We Are Slower Than Other Operating Systems. Here Is Why." He actually deleted the original post since it was contained too "harsh" phrases. Someone made a copy still tho which you can read here http://blog.zorinaq.com/?e=74 It contains some specific coders language ofc, but generally gives you a nice idea of how optimizing the code for performance is far from the top priority in MS, and how can coders from different teams not even touch each others code for optimization. Kinda sad, will this post be a kick in the butt to MS? Or it will be a kick out for the poor guy that posted it
