  1. The laptop is definitely cool to the touch (not even warm), so the temps is correctly indicating below 25 c. No OC whatsoever. I have not tried the laptop without Armoury Crate since it helps tremendously with the laptop's performance. One person in the G14 subreddit said that it's a BIOS issue. That the BIOS triggers emergency mode when the temps are blow 30 c on startup. And it makes sense to me since the issue started when the weather got colder and it only happens after hours in the shutdown state (when the laptop reaches room temp).
  2. System: Asus Zephyrus G14 (GA401IU.218), running Windows 10 Home. Problem: I have troubles with the fans - some times when I boot in to Windows the fans goes full blast (talking about 7000 rpm on the CPU and above 6000 rpm on the GPU) while the temperature is stable under 25 c. No matter which mode I set it to in Armoury Crate (silent, aggressive or Windows) it will continue this behavior until I completely shut it down and boot it again. What have I tried: reinstalling Armoury Crate service and the app - didn't make a difference. installing different versions of Armoury Crate. changing power profiles. Some notes to consider: Event Viewer indicaing and error "Timeout (30000 milliseconds) expected event response from ArmouryCrateService." this issue only appears after some period in the shut down state (hours) and then boot up in to Windows. some times it happens few seconds after Windows boot up, some times it takes more. everything is up to date (OS, bios, etc.) this issue first appeared few months ago (the laptop is about six months old). The very last thing I want to try is RMA it, and second last is clean reinstall Windows. EDIT: Apparently with some Asus laptops there is some sort of ongoing software issue that triggers thermal throttling procedure when the temperatures of the laptops are below 20-30 c upon boot up. Tested the theory by warming up the laptop with a hair dryer and the issue did not appear. Then tested it again by putting it next to my open window and booting it up - the issue appeared.
  3. Hi all! I'm having a hard time choosing a laptop for school. I have few options in mind but all of them are not the obvious "prefect one". I guess there isn't such thing below 2000€. I will be needing one for mainly coding, running VMs, some game development, and some light 3D rendering. So a good CPU with as many cores as possible and HT/SMT would be appreciated. Also at least 16Gb ram, and good battery life for long school days. Size should be from 14-15,6" for comfortable multitasking and also easy portability. Dedicated GPU isn't a big deal (I would rather have a better CPU). I hope you guys help me decide! Here are the ones in my consideration (Region is Northern Europe): Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 1 (4750U Pro, 16Gb, 512Gb) for 1660€ HP Omen 0806 15,6" (4600H, 16Gb, 512Gb) for 1550€ Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 (4700U, 16Gb, 256Gb) for 1040€ Lenovo Ideapad L340 15,6" (i5-9300H, 16Gb single channel, 512Gb) for 900€ Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (4800HS, 16Gb, 512Gb) for 1680€ (this one is a very hard choice, because of it's expensive price and non existing front camera) P.S. might be able to get Lenovo products for about 20% cheaper from the student store though I'm not 100% sure about that.
  4. Yeah I realised that later and thinking of returning it then buying something like cooler master h500p mesh to fit in something like noctua nh d15 or dark rock pro 4, because quite honestly I'm not 100% comfortable with liquid coolers.
  5. UPDATE: Bought new cooler today and installed it (Cryorig H7). Now instead of having 36-38c at "Idle "(meaning i do absolutely nothing not even mouse movement) I'm having 31-35 according to Ryzen Master and according to HWiNFO64 i'm having mid 30s to low 40s Celsius: BUT here is the big but, IF i move my mouse or open up a browser it goes to low 40s according to RM and according to HWiNFO mid 40s to mid 50s even recorded max temo of 61c. HWiNFO readings are very inconsistent. So these temperature fluctuating are still present.
  6. I was thinking of buying new cooler tomorrow, but whats the point of hiding the problems under the rug? it's still doing odd things with temp
  7. What be quiet cooler are you running?
  8. So even x570 board are having same issue. I'm going crazy too! I have been troubleshooting and fixing for two week since I got these component. I might just dump the whole thing, return mobo, ram, and cpu and go with Intel. Even if it means I will lose 200€, but F*CK IT.
  9. Ryzen 3700X temparatues jumping from 37c to high 40s even briefly to low 60s on IDLE! If I even move my cursor around the temps start jumping around and the cpu fan too which is annoying. This can't be normal. Room temp is around 20c. In games it randomly jump to mid or high 70s even on low demanding titlesSystem:Lian Li pc o-11 dynamic with three Noctua NF-F12 PWM chromax.black.swap mounted on the sideAsus Rog Strix x470-F GamingAsus Rog Strix 2080 superRyzen 7 3700X with stock coolerG.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16PSU EVGA SuperNOVA G3 750 W
  10. Do you have any advice on how I can adjust the fan curve or a tutorial I could look up to
  11. Noticed the Corsair Cooling Hydro H115i PRO RGB on sale for 99€ because of Black Friday, but can't decide whether I should pick it or the Noctua NH-D15 for 109€. Whats the best choice for my system? And if liquid cooling whats the best config to run? What are the cons and pros for both? How about some good alternatives like Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black? 12. Update: I ran fire strike 1.1 and scored 24 038. 1st score is 25 603 and the 932nd score is 22 648 so I'm pretty happy with the results. Max temp of the GPU 58c and max of the CPU was 74c at the end
