Mac's are more status symbols than anything. As is any Apple product.

    Funny, Final Cut seems to work better for a lot of YouTubers than other programs *shrug*
    Doesn't seem like much of a status symbol there.

    iPods are also excellent PMPs.

    They are, but they are also very functional for certain types of work.

    You could argue that anything above your budget can be seen as status symbols, it depends on how you use/treat them.
