As an older student not gone full time i built myself a new PC as cheap as possible. Its not the best or the most up to date but fun to do...
    The parts:
Mobo: ASUS STRIX Z270E (cost me 50gbp)( i had to replace CMOS battery and recompound.)
    Ram: 16GB Hyper X 2600Mhz/16GB 3600MhzTridant Royale Z RGB (32GB total) (cost me 125gbp)
CPU: Intel I7-7700K 4.2Ghz-4.5Ghz (OC to 4.578Ghz-5.012Ghz) (cost me 130gbp)
Cooler: evga 240clc cooler (cost me 80gbp new)
Fans: coolmoon 120mm rgb +controller+rgb strip (cost me 20gbp new)
Fans: Lenovo CPU cooler fans 2x (cost ,me 8gbp) (these hit 4500rpm and cfm of around 80CFM)
Fans: gtx750ti fan strip (cost me nothing as off a scrap card someone gave me)
HDDs: sandisk 480GB PLUS (2x) (cost me 70gbp new)
HDD: 1TB hybrid from old pc ( win 7 backup drive... proved useful a lot with bad windows updates!)
    HDD: nvme 512GB lenovo/samsung m2 ssd (cost me 30gbp)
    Win10 Education Pro (free)
PSU: Kolink 1200w modular (overkill i know but cheap at 120gbp (80+ spec) new)
DVD ROM DRIVE WOOOOOO - cost me 10gbp new
Graphics: SLI linked PNY GTX960 XLR8-4096MB (cheap but hard to find got 3x for 100gbp faulty (2x required compounding and 1 had components damaged which i repaired using an old gtx750 scrap pcb at component level.)
8GB graphics shared. (which no software of sites i find use these or recognise me running two!)
case: Modified CIT dark soul midi (i removed old pvc, stickered mounted rad externally at top and put perspex in from an old picture frame. case was purchased new 5 years ago for 25gbp, stickers cost me 2gbp, perspex was free... long story.)
    oh and a pci x1 to 4xusb 3.0 adapter (5gbp new)

My mobo allows about 140% power increase so from my calcs i am on the max with 128TDP@5Ghz CPU.
At the moment with doing distance Uni i only really play Destiny 2 (max settings), Fallout NV/4 (max settings), Runescape oldschool and rs3 (played since i was in primary and on dial up.... whole different story when someone picked up the phone hahaha)
please see pics of my build. i done expect much of a positive feedback on it but i am under a limited budget (as a working student (weird setup work wise)) and well if the crap breaks at least it wasn't stupid expensive to fry clocking and modding!)

Started watching LTT and absolutely love watching the videos.... all good fun.... would love to delve into his knowledge of things.... what do they say.... everything is trial and error! History is a story of past mistakes; finding solutions to them too!
    SCRAPYARD WARRRRRRRRS!!!! love it !!!
