  1. Hello I've have steadily been upgrading my PC, and I've been trying to figure out if I shold get some new RAM. Escpecially with a January sale going on where I live, I might find something with an ok discount. Currently I am using 16GB (2x8GB) HyperX Fury DDR4, at XMP profle 1 (the only one available in BIOS). That gives me 3200Mhz, and according to CPU-Z the following: CL 18 / tRCD 21 / tRP 21 / tRAS 39 / tRFC 260 / CR 2T I don't know much about timings, and don't want to tweak to much of that. PC is mostly used for gaming, with the following specs: Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi i7-9700K GTX 1070 TI My budget is around 200 USD, and some RGB for aesthetics would be a bonus. If you have any recommendations for better RAM, if it's even necessary, all replies are much appreciated.

  3. Hello I'm wondering if it's worth switching my motherboard from H370 to Z390. As far as I understand, my RAM is currently limited to 2666MHz, and I don't know if I my CPU gets limited some way by the chipset as well. My current setup is the following: CPU - i7-9700k Motherboard - Gigabyte H370 Aorus Gaming 3 Wifi RAM - HyperX Fury DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (2x8GB) GPU - GTX 1070 Ti Storage - Kingstan A1000 / Seagate Barracuda 1TB PSU - Corsair RM650x Display - Samsung 27" 1440p 144hz Cooling - Corsair H60 (2018) Operating System - Windows 10 Pro 64bit I just recently started to dig into PC hardware, and bought this PC used before I knew to much. Mostly use it for gaming, and the H60 cooler keeps the CPU under 60C at around 50-60% usage while gaming. (35C ish during idle) I don't know much about overclocking and don't plan on doing anything fancy, but with Z390, as far as I've understood, I can get the 3200MHz from my RAM and maybe get higher safe speeds on my CPU? Been looking at Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro. Any recommendations, help and tips are greatly appreciated
  4. Thanks for the reply. I set it to Profile 2, but I can't find anywhere to change the frequency. Is it possible that it's because of the H370 chipset, not being able to overclock? Think I read something that my motherboard is limited to 2666MHz or something similar....?
  5. Hello I'm trying to learn more about my PC and what I can tweak on it, so recently I've read a bit about Ram and XMP. I currently have HyperX Fury DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (2x8GB), but it doesn't look like I'm getting 3200Mhz, and I don't even know if I can? I went into my BIOS settings, and looked at the XMP settings, it was disabled, so I tried the "Profile 1" and "Profile 2" options to see if there were any difference. Pictures show the results, using CPU-Z info program. So, can I increase it safely and easily up to 3200MHz, if so how? If I could bump the speed up to 3200Mhz, would I get a performance boost in games or other places? If I can't do any of that, should I even bother with XMP? Using the following: Motherboard: Gigabyte H370 Aorus Gaming 3 Wifi Cpu: i7-9700k Any recommendations, help and info is much appreciated, thansk!
  6. @WoodenMarker Thank you, I was wondering how that worked. I'm using a Gigabyte H370 Aorus Gaming 3 Wifi, and as far as I have found online, the fan headers are 1A. Currently I'm using two Noctua NF-S12A PWM 120mm, and if I add a third, then it will be the same type. Below is a copy/paste of the specifications of the fans. Max. input power 1,44 W Max. input current 0,12 A Operating voltage 12 V I have enough Y splitters lying around, so that should work.
  7. Thanks for the reply! How do I then connect those three fans to a single header on my motherboard? I've read about some voltage/amp limits, and do I buy a splitter with 3 to 1 4pin, or use two Y splitters, if that even works?
  8. Hello. I've been doing some google searches, but didn't find any good answers, hope you can help me, and hopefully this is the correct sub forum. I'm interested in switching out my Phanteks P300 with a P400A (non RGB version). The case comes with a built in fan controller for the front fans, and I might put three fans in the front of the case. My question is, how do I connect those three fans into one fan header from the fan controller? I'm currently using two Noctua NF-S12A PWM 120mm as my front intake fans, and if I get the P400A, I might want to add one more. The fan controller in the P400A is a 3pin connector, with low, med and high as its settings.
