  1. Painted a new wireless power button, and added a stronger magnet. progress was slow due to video card issues, now resolved. Time to seal up the case with custom side panels, should be done in the next week or so.
  2. Rush job just to see how fast i could go. I tried to reuse the vinyl, but has more bumps than id like so i might redo that tomorrow. aida64 running displaysensor, with vlc streaming ip cam. anyone know good diy solutions to repair minor scratches on screens? i have 2 small knife lines where i cut out the screen. Or is it best to go with retail product for this?
  3. Ordered this for another project, but decided donate it to this PC. Speed mod starting @ 4:40 EST. AND BEGIN
  4. after adjusting fan, and testing difference between flow direction. got it down to 45-50 light use, 35-45 idle ,+10c on push config.
  5. Temp setup testing fanless heatsink mode @100% load it takes about 10 min before it start to thermal throttle average use (2-3 streams + 1 additional broswer): sits around 55-60c so far pretty impressed with the possibility of going fanless on cpu.
  6. Bought a thin magnet sheet today, hopefully this plus a little reinforcement will make good side panels
  7. Awesome, thanks for your advice. I prefer magnets over velcro for aesthetic reasons so this is good to hear.
  8. Thanks, and room has been wiped down since... workspace is unfortunately in my room due to rental size. If it wasn't winter I usually do this stuff outside.
  9. that might actually be perfect. Good idea
  10. Other than magnets, any ideas on quick and clean looking way to connect a fan to heatsink. while only having access to the top. i might just start throwing magnets at one of my old builds; heatsinks, and see how they hold up.
  11. In regards to my plan of having a detachable cpu fan, would using weak magnets to attach a removable fan directly to the heatsink cause issues with the cpu. ... i know this is an odd plan and probably not recommended fan layout, but my case design is pretty much locked in at this point and want to test idea of a passive fan with optional direct connect fan as backup.
  12. -Vinyl front and back applied -Reed switch installed, decided to go with 1 for power and skipped the reset. Tasks remaining: -side panels, decided to go with acrylic due to cuts ill have to make. -custom cables, but those will be worked on when im bored, so they might take a while. -paint a "Power On" logo on under side of leg/power button.
