  1. ... It's all in the title. Additionally the computer is running a FX 8300, so it is quite old... I've tried lots of troubleshooting steps, connecting everything it needs, re seating the cpu, gpu and ram, changing ram slots, everything.
  2. So, my 8300 is a hot chip, so yesterday I've decided to undervolt it. From [AUTO] to 1.258 (auto's max is I believe 1.275v). The cpu was boosting to 3.8ghz before that (I have a crappy 970A mobo). After undervolt it seems stuck at 3.6ghz (it does occasionally jump to 3.7 but falls back to 3.6 almost instantly). Now, sure, it is running a lot colder but I'm getting a lot worse performance in games. Help would be appreciated
  3. So I've found a pretty cheap 1080ti, but there is one problem, the seller states that the card immediately crashes Uniengine Heaven and crashes a couple of minutes into game. It would be pretty nice if I could buy it, even with a slight underclock, btw the card in question is a rog strix 1080 ti. Should I buy it and what should I do to remedy the problem? Thanks in advance!
  4. That's not a very good decision, unless you have a compatibility issue I would fully recommend a used RX580, you get super reliable 60fps gaming (especially in 1080p) and 8GB VRAM which should be plenty for editing/ other graphics intensive work.
  5. So I bought this USB dongle for bluetooth and it's not showing up in device driver nor bluetooth. My OS is Windows 10. Thanks in advance!
  6. Your GPU is getting awfully close to the 88° max temp since the other run was 71°
  7. Hm. I think you should be fine running games with fan speed set to high?
  8. That's pretty ok, try defaulting afterburner and running furmark again.
  9. I would suggest installing MSI afterburner and furmark and running some tests on there. In MSI afterburner I would suggest to set the target voltage a bit higher and the core and memory clock a little lower. Also, if you have the option, good thing to set the fans all the way up, or, if you can't stand the noise, nearly maxed-out.
  10. Yeah, I will be getting a new system not so far in the future, I don't want to bring my current build to 2020.
  11. It's an AM4 socket, while my FX is an AM3+
  12. I was looking at that, but it's a 8-pin. People online say it's very power-hungry. I don't think my current PSU + adapter will survive that lol
  13. My good ol' 5 year old gaming PC is getting a well-deserved upgrade. Current components are: AMD FX-8300, MSI 970A-G43, R7 360 2GB, 8GB RAM, 500W Elite Power V2 Cooler Master (only one 6-pin and no 8-pins lol) I really want to upgrade my GPU and RAM, I've got the RAM sorted out, but I really want to get a GTX1060 6GB (not a 1660 because it comes with an 8-pin, or at least the ones at my local tech store do). I'm asking you guys, is a GTX1060 6GB overkill for my current system, keep in mind I'll be getting another 8GB of RAM. Thanks!
