Even compiling programs won't make a big difference, both drives will probably not have a noticeable difference.

as long as your board supports m.2 NVME (not sata), you should be able to use it just fine
at pcie 3.0 speed, of course

i dont see why it wouldnt work, it would be like putting a gpu in a x8 pcie slot instead of a x16 pcie slot.

This gives 30% Higher performance than the build you suggested, the only drawback is you are using a SATA SSD too.

I already said I'm not planning on upgrading until next year - maybe even late 2021 to wait for Zen 4

EDIT: Also, the prices I listed are not high because of shortages or anything. These are the official MSRP prices here in Norway (We're one of the most expensive countries to purchase consumer electronics in)

FL4XY reacted to Fasauceome in X570 Motherboards - Compatability with 5000 series CPUs
a great number of X570 motherboards have a BIOS flashback function which allows a BIOS to be updated without the need for a CPU, ram, or graphics card. Most motherboards $200 to $300 will have the feature, and if you're interested in a specific model you can check the product page to see if the feature is advertised.

Some brands like Gigabyte have a special name for the feature (such as Gigabyte's "QFlash Plus") while brands like Asus and MSI simply label the feature BIOS Flashback.

You could also have a look at this big ass spreadsheet that has a column of data for "FlashBk Button" in the Diagnostics section, so you can search here for candidates.

FL4XY reacted to ejh in Logitech G HUB is bugged
Hey, I'm glad you posted on the LTT forum! Logitech G Hub is quite the piece of work and very buggy. Logitech has poor software development and quality control on their products ranging from the popular wireless Logitech M325 mouse to their Gaming line of products and unfortunately, I don't see that changing any time soon as they don't even provide a proper support to express your concern. As for your G Hub issues, find the download location, in my case "C:\Program Files\" . Once there delete the folder named "LGHUB" and all its contents. If any issues arise, make sure the application isn't open in your task manager or your system tray. Upon deleting the folder and checking that the application is not longer running, head on over to Logitech G Hub's download page and download the latest version for your system, (this is exclusively a 64 bit application), should properly install without error, granted you followed the instructions from the installer.

Let me know how that works, E.J.

    FL4XY got a reaction from Wimpo in Upgrade to i7 4790 from i5 4440
And what do you use your PC for primarily?

Gaming-wise the performance of a 2600 vs a 4790 will be close enough that it shouldn't matter to much, and in that case I would recommend just going for the 4790, save $150 and save up for an upgrade for you GPU.

In terms of applications and work use, the 2600 has 2 more cores (4 more threads) as well as newer technology, meaning it will last far longer if the purpose is to future proof.

    FL4XY got a reaction from boggy77 in Ryzen 5 3600 vs Ryzen 7 2700x
For gaming the 3600 will be faster than the 2700x (This will depend on the title, but expect maybe 5-10% FPS increase in AAA games at 1440p), whereas the 2700x will have a faster multicore performance, making it better for more CPU heavy tasks that aren't related to gaming.

    EDIT: More concise

FL4XY got a reaction from Levent in Xiaomi Mi 8 vs Redmi Note 8 Pro
It being older means it will most likely receive less updates as time moves on, i.e. the Note 8 might get Android 11, where the Mi 8 will not.

Other than that, and the fact that the Mi 8 has a faster processor, the fact that it is older won't have any other downside other than software updates

FL4XY got a reaction from TaakeULV in New computer feels slow?
Firstly, care to share the actual settings, resolution and FPS you're getting in these titles?

You could download any form of hardware monitoring tool (I'd recommend something like MSI afterburner or NZXT CAM). Check things like the CPU and GPU clock speeds and make sure that they're matching what you should be getting. Make sure all the RAM is registered and at the correct clock speeds etc.

As mentioned by minibois you should also run some benchmarks and compare to see what other people are getting relative to your own system.

FL4XY got a reaction from TaakeULV in Thinking of upgrading displays
I could get a 27' 1440p 144hz monitor from Samsung for a similar price that has a VA panel. Only downside is that it is 4ms (however, I'm not super competitive so delay isn't THAT important).

Would you recommend this over the ASUS?

Currently have one AOC 24' 1080p 60Hz 1ms monitor (not sure what the exact model is).

Found a good deal online for a 27' 1440p 155Hz 0.4ms monitor and am considering getting it (along with upgrading my 1070 to a RX 5700 XT)

I noticed on the specs however, that it's a TN panel, and I've heard that TN panels generally are quite bad, and so I was wondering if this monitor would be a good investment or not?

The monitor for reference: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YygQzy/asus-tuf-gaming-vg27bq-270-2560x1440-165-hz-monitor-vg27bq (It says 165Hz on PC Part Picker, but 155Hz on the website I'm looking to buy from. Model numbers match up however, so I'm not sure why it's listed at 2 different refresh rates)

FL4XY got a reaction from TaakeULV in Will a RX 5700 XT be compatible with my current system?
From this video (could be unreliable) it shows the 5700 XT getting about 50% more FPS in the low end, and in some games almost 100% more FPS though? Do you have somewhere I can look that shows the 5700 XT being just slightly faster than a 1070?

FL4XY got a reaction from TaakeULV in Will a RX 5700 XT be compatible with my current system?
I'm not buying from the US, but rather Norway (i.e. land of some of the most expensive electronics on earth).

The one you linked, currently would cost me 5162 NOK (563 USD), but the one I linked which normally costs 6006 NOK (655 USD) is currently on sale for 4899 NOK (534 USD).

So that's why I'm looking at the ASUS one, because while the full MSRP is higher, I can currently get it for cheaper than any other 5700 XT in my country.
