I understand that you're saying that reddit didn't "artificially manipulate" the stock market, but.... they kind of did. It wasn't illegal, and I don't have any problem with what they did personally - I'm cheering this whole thing on - but organizing a massive group of people to buy a single stock in order to achieve a certain end would definitely qualify as "artificially manipulating" in my book. 

The irony is that they're doing exactly what the establishment does all the time, but when the little guy does it, suddenly trades get restricted and hedge funds get bailed out.

Due to short squeeze, and general hype around the stock, GME has surged from about 20 dollars a share earlier this month to 320 today during after hours. This is partially due to reddit's r/wallstreetbets, which realized the short squeeze and undervaluing of the stock and where some members heavily profited from the gains. On the other side are short sellers like Melvin capital, who lost massive amounts of money due to shorting gamestop and having to cover their shorts at such a high price. Also, Elon Musk tweeted about the stock, and whenever he tweets about a stock it always seems to go up.

Anyways, its really interesting to see how the financial world has changed due to such easy information sharing due to Reddit and other online forums.
I certainly do not feel bad for the short sellers, short selling is risky business, and if you are an expert at a hedge fund, I would expect you to understand and be ready for the risks if they happen.

This probably won't mean much for Gamestop in the long run IMO, just because I assume the stock price will eventually have to come down at some point.
 
Melvin Capital and other hedge funds may have to re evaluate how they approach short selling though.

Cool move, gotta be interesting to see if she will actually show up in front of the camera though. As far as I understood it she'll be a social media coordinator teaching Linus what the heck TikTok is. Not sure how much on camera presence that entails. Though I do think it would be a huge lost opportunity on Linus' end if she doesn't show up from time to time at least. But depending on how demanding the job is (and I do think coordinating LMG's media presence is not an easy task) there might not be so much on-camera time planned for her.
Wonder if the 6-month grace period will apply for her. Though with Linus being so open about her job application (and her getting the job) that wouldn't really make a whole lot of sense...

wireless + cameras is never a great solution, and wireless extenders + cameras isnt going to work well.
 
the best way is to run outdoor rated cables with drip loops from a central point in the house to cameras with a dedicated line for each camera, and dedicated lines for wireless access points. depending on budget and how much coverage you want, you could place more or less wifi access points outside near/on the house or expanding outward. i would suggest unifi/ubiquity as i have used them before and they have a lot of nice features and good ui for a good price. linus recently did a video on some of their high end access points. if you are running a lot of cameras it will be cheaper and easier to use power over ethernet (POE) via a switch to power the cameras/wifi then to get a electrician in there to do a lot of work. ideally you would dig a channel for the wires and run pvc or some other pipes to run the cables through and protect them from shovels, animals, weather, ect then pop up where you need a camera/wifi like a sprinkler system but going a bit higher up.
 
bit about outdoor cabling. use drip loops and the right type of cable, and make sure to keep the bugs out. 
 

6a is more better but unless you are going 10gb its overkill. more money for the same results in most use cases, because years down the line when 10gb is more reasonable and affordable you may wish to replace the cables anyways from wear and tear and bending.

alright i think you are right about it being on the isp side and assuming you have carte blanche to do whatever i would start tracing the lines going from your house to the demarc. you are looking for damage to the wire and at the connection. ideally you would take photos of the cable connections which may be a 110 block or something more modern. never done low voltage in india before.

I currently have cat 6 and there is way more than enough overhead for the speed I get.

beersykins has the right idea about ebay, but you should also check your local craigslist/let go/whatever. a lot of your local buissness who shut down or moved left all this networking equipment and theirs always a building manager or worker or something who grabs it all up and trys to offload the old shit for whatever they can get but also sell quickly. sometimes it's even "free but you have to take it all and get this rack out of here". space cost money and time cost money and if you willing to invest some time finding these deals they are out there. 

Is the network type set to private or public on the machine that cannot be seen?  Public will have the firewall block SMB traffic and Windows has a nasty habit of changing the setting if you so much as fart in the direction of the router, causing it to think its a new network.

besides hardware i would suspect the cables. it sounds like you are consistently having trouble with your laptop but not your xbox and assuming you have dedicated cables for each i would consider replacing literally all of Ethernet cables, but especially the one form your laptop to your router and the router to modem cable.

You can get ISR2900 series stuff pretty cheap these days, although depending on license some of the feature sets vary (whereas 2800 you can run basically every feature in the image).
 
I'd probably roll ebay instead of Amazon, you can find better deals (I picked up 2x 2960S-24p for $20/ea, for example).
 
If you substitute another one of your switches for a L3 switch you can double the device as another routed segment device.
