They told me the mobo only came with 1 screw.

I feel really dumb asking this but it’s been so long since I put an SSD in that I feel I have no choice.

When attempting to put my 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus I came across these metal peg things.

These pegs are making it impossible to screw the SSD into the board.

However at the same time they remain firmly in place and I can’t get them out.

    What do I do?

    Thanks!

    That’s good to know!

No, the main reason to use a VPN is to get around Geoblocking and to prevent your ISP from seeing what you're doing. Google is going to pick up on your browsing habits really quick, if you're using Windows, they know it's your PC based on it's hardware.

General Discussion is dedicated on tech topics that don't fit anywhere else. Off Topic is more relaxed.
Your subject here is mainly about scamming scammers and YouTube channel(s) doing it. Only tech portion here is that both scam and counter-scam are done with tech tools. With main thing still just being appreciation of the creator. Hence, Off Topic.

it depends on how you store it, every thing eventualy degrades, for example you might have kept it in a humid environment which could create rust on the solders and what not. thats why I don't generaly like to resel old devices stored in ware houses.. its too many variables that could ruin something

I think the witcher 3 is a decent game but nothing too special and honestly I don't get why so many people are praising it as a Masterpiece.
I also think Odyssey is better not by a lot but still. It's just a more interesting and a more fun game.

This is by far the best part of the entire game lol. I specifically played and enjoyed it because it didn't follow the same AC formula. They're good games, but just not really for me in that fashion.

I actually didn’t really like the Witcher 3 game at all. 😞

    But I loved AC: Odyssey.

It may have deviated from the traditional AC formula but I still feel it’s an amazing game with a great story.

Well, ever hear the expression that sometimes "there's too much of a good thing"?
    (Or something similar)

I was a little burnt out by Origins, and didn't necessarily want to dive straight back into a similar themed game with near identical mechanics etc...

From what I understand, Odyssey was seen as perfecting the changes Origin made.

I may well pick it up one day, but there is also the cost factor which has seen games like Odyssey stay at near full AAA retail despite being several years old.

Was my first AC game as well and I loved it. Graphics was amazing.. I found myself just sitting on the fast travel points just staring out and admiring the beautiful landscape and scenery. Combat was awesome too as you had many different ways you could build and play. My favorite though was listening to my pirates chanting and singing while sailing the open waters and water/naval combat.

no 80c is not bad at all i actually have a 1080 ti that reaches 85c while gaming so considering that your 2080 ti reaches only 80 means your good and you dont need to replace thermal paste plus i wouldnt really wanna mess around with it

Hey, i understand when people think, my monitor refreshes to 144hz so i must run a system at 144frps. i upgraded from a first gen Titan X "980ti on steroids" to a RTX3080 recently. in CoD Cold war i was getting 60ish frps on my 1440p 165hz monitor so switching to a 3080 made sense. BUT...remember as long as the refresh and response is above what... 60ish your eyes cant really tell a difference, so that my RTX3080 wouldn't pull 450 watts i actually capped my frps in CoD cold war to 85. yes it can deliver max settings around 120-130frps at 1440p but i cant tell a difference with the frps at 85. realistically if your settings are maxed and above what 60-80frps, just because your monitor can run 144 doesn't mean you need it. This is of course open to debate and just my personal take.

I only upgrade to increase FPS and Resolution. This usually at the point where I'm thorn between the two which should go away forever once this generation is in stock and DP 2.0 monitors sell at 4k144. I couldn't care less about details.

This is too personal apparently so nobody can answer this without knowing how you feel about these things.

it's still a decent time to sell gpus but if you aren't gonna wait for prices to drop after, i wouldn't bother. personally just waiting for next gen, difference isn't enough atm.

OK makes sense. It's really not good at supplying fresh air to your GPU or CPU. In that case your thermals seem totally fine.

    It depends.

I got a EVGA XC3 Ultra 3080 ti on the Newegg shuffle. It would not be my first choice but I need a card for HDMI 2.1 for an OLED TV.

Before I installed it I ran some tests on the EVGA FTW3 Ultra 2080 ti that it is replacing. The 24/7 overclock on the 2080 ti is + 120 core, + 800 ram and runs at 2040mhz in most games.
The 3080 ti is at + 80 core, 800 ram. This is very stable but it only goes to 105% on the power limit.

This is with the R7 5800x
    Time Spy
2080 ti 14776 (graphic score is15625. This score is lower than my Intel scores.)
    3080 ti 17504 (graphic score is19250)

    Port Royal
    2080 ti  9645
    3080 ti  12514

Shadow of the Tomb Raider(1440p, TAA, Highest preset)
    2080 ti  129 fps average.
    3080 ti  160 fps average.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey (1440p, Ultra High preset.  The 5800x is about 10 frames down on my Intel CPUs even at 4k)
    2080 ti 70 fps average.
    3080 ti 93 fps average.

In the game Control with RT at medium 1440p the 3080 ti gets an extra 40 frames so all frames over 120.

I am buying 2 more 3080 ti/ 3090 witch ever comes first for my TVs that all use HDMI 2.1.  After that one 2080 ti will go to my Son since he likes them for Video editing and the other I will keep for benching.

Going form a 2080 ti to a 3080 ti has no WOW factor. All it means that it would be easier to keep all frames over 144 at 1440p. Since I use 120hz OLED TVs I could already get all frames over 120fps with the 2080 ti so this is mainly a 4k upgrade for me and to get to 4k 120fps in most games will take a 40 series ti card.

I bought an ASUS 3080 White OC today so defiantly more cards are available.

Thanks 🙂 as my first build I was super proud of my cable management.

The only thing I messed up with is that top fan in the photo. It does spin but for some reason the lights don’t work but I left it in anyway since aesthetics are less important than performance and I figured it’s fine as long as the fan is working properly.

hmmm well its a hard question cuz i dont play resident evil but definitely there is a huge difference unless you are talking about 4k. 4k there is a difference just not as big as 1440p or 1080p

It's literally a top 5 best gpu's available for gaming right now so don't even worry about it.

Is this a need to upgrade because of poor performance or just because you want to upgrade for the sake of upgrading?

If it is the second then well don't it's just you wanting something new when the old is still perfectly good.

definitely your 2080 ti is still great at 1440p. i had a 2080 super and made the mistake of upgrading to a 3080 pretty much alot more performance that i wasnt gonna use in gaming cuz my 2080 super was already getting 144fps on 1080p which is what i needed for my monitor. but now i have a 1440p 240hz monitor so the 2080 super probably wouldve struggled a bit in some games using this monitor, but overall, your card is perfectly fine no need to upgrade unless you want more performance

It just speaks to the general roughness of CP2077.

Even after the numerous delays it still needed more time, and it shows.

Probably not worth reporting though - they seem to have more pressing matters, like trying to get above 12 fps on base xbox one.
