  1. Yeah true. Fortunately as I just found ojt they aren’t proprietary or expensive so that makes it a lot better. I can just buy a bag and never have to worry about that again . Sadly my Samsung SATA SSDs can’t be used because they didn’t plug the SATA cables into the PSU and I can’t put them in unless I take the entire PSU out.
  2. I called them and they said they looked at the manual and found it said it only includes a singular M.2 screw which they used to instill the 1TB SSD that came with the system.
  3. That’s good to know! Sometimes it’s hard to tell which parts are standard and which are proprietary.
  4. Oh awesome thanks! As long as it’s not some super special OEM exclusive part I’m cool with that.
  5. It’s supposed to be a Gigabyte Z790 UD-AC Motherboard
  6. They told me the mobo only came with 1 screw.
  7. Ah dang it my PC was prebuilt and it only came with cables but no screws.
  8. I feel really dumb asking this but it’s been so long since I put an SSD in that I feel I have no choice. When attempting to put my 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus I came across these metal peg things. These pegs are making it impossible to screw the SSD into the board. However at the same time they remain firmly in place and I can’t get them out. What do I do? Thanks!
  9. Ohh ok would a fresh install of windows do the same thing? Because I did a fresh Windows install and still no luck . I can’t even get into the bios because the screen spazzes out.
  10. No not where I live :(. Some of them have laptops or desktops without GPUs.
  11. Awesome thanks! I tried reinstalling drivers and reseating the GPU but no luck :(. I am praying SO much that it’s not a GPU issue because my EVGA warranty literally expired last month and it was a very expensive GPU :/.
  12. I tried using GeForce Experience but nothing happened.
  13. Hey everyone I’ve been stuck with this problem for nearly a year and I gave up trying to fix it myself. My computer was working fine until one day I booted it up and I immediately noticed the resolution was like 800x600 instead of the normal 2560x1440 and my 2080 Ti was detected but just not working at all. Can anyone give me advice on how to fix this?
  14. I made my choice when my PC broke
  15. But don’t I have to make sure it’s the GPU that is the problem? What if I send it in to EVGA and they say: “We tested it on our test benches and it’s operating just fine.” Don’t I have to pay a fee or something?
  16. Sorry for the delay in responding this has just become a nightmare I think it might be the GPU so I’m thinking of sending it in under warranty.
  17. Yeah I think that might be it. I’m thinking of just building a new PC at this point and re-using as many old parts as possible since a lot of them like the RAM, PSU and SSDs are still pretty up to date and that should save me some money. Well darn. I didn’t expect this to happen so quickly. I expected it to die eventually but not so soon.
  18. Oh wow that’s scary. I’m using Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB RAM and a Corsair RM850x PSU and I specifically got them because of the generous warranty but a warranty is useless if it’s not honored. I might have to go back to EVGA for the PSU and GSkill for RAM..
  19. Yeah that’s the 9th Gen. Btw I tried my brother’s 970 GTX today to see if it would boot up with my 2080 Ti removed and I’m still having issues :(. Now I’m wondering if it’s a PSU or mobo issue.
  20. I’m running an 8700K on an MSI MEG z390 ACE motherboard. It’s not a tippity top end motherboard but according to the tier list on the motherboard forum it’s in the A tier which is above average. The CPU is old though. It was in the PC I had before I built this PC that I am having trouble with now. 5 GHz overclocked - 6 cores/12 threads with a 280mm AIO.
  21. Fingers crossed this gets sorted out without too much cost on my end. :-/ Im going to try the 970 tomorrow and if it still has issues I’ll try the 750W PSU. I’ve never had anything like this happen before.
  22. Yeah the 3080 sounds about right. I’m not as familiar with the 3000 series specs and prices because I expected my 2080 Ti to be with me until at least 2024 when I planned to replace it. Which is another thing to remember. If I have to send it in to EVGA for an RMA it means that something went wrong on their end. At least if we assume what I am based on my experience which is that the problem was not my fault in any way. I consider myself pretty OCD about taking good care of my PC and I always keep HWM up to check min & max temps of my components after every session and I never saw my GPU temp go above 80C. Even after a long heavy demanding gaming session it peaked at about 78C. The reason I say this is because I can’t think of any possible way that I damaged the GPU and if that’s true it means the goof was on EVGAs end. Usually when companies make a goof they tend to be very generous with fixing it. For example providing a 3080 instead of a 3070 Ti as a replacement even if it’s is slightly better. They know I had to go through this headache and frustration and lack of ability to use my PC.
  23. Well it’s not so much by performance. It’s by retail price I believe. Afterall technology advances really fast sometimes so giving someone equal performance technology years later is a bit of a frowned upon thing to do. Because the price is what someone actually has invested into the product. In terms of price it would be the 3080 Ti or 3080.
