  1. Use uBlock. way, way better and more efficient. So those sites can partner with someone who has less shitty ads that are less intrusive and more relevant.
  2. Yes, the franchise that was valued at 3 billion dollars (before Halo 4 even launched) is going to die. Solid logic. Not fan service, just good business. The most successful model for Halo in terms of DLC has been what Halo 2 did. You can buy it early at a premium cost or you wait a few months for it to become free, and then rolled into regular matchmaking. The issue that 3, Reach and 4 had was that they never made mainline DLC free. It was kept separate. So you had staggered playlists with diminished player counts in the new DLC playlists, with the regular playlists never getting the new maps. It was shitty if you paid for DLC because RARELY would the maps show up in matchmaking. Not saying that Halo 5 won't have paid DLC maps, they still might, but having free DLC maps ensures that people actually, actively use those maps. Plus, I hope 343 integrates Forge maps more and rolls out those variants into matchmaking in the same manner that Bungie did with Reach, thats a great way to add longevity and keep things fresh without breaking the bank.
  3. Ahh HTC, just when you thought it couldn't possibly get any worse for your company, it does. HTCs been on the brink for years, the M7 saved their bacon as being one of the first Android devices worth owning, but their bumbling of their finances and future releases has brought them right back to where they were at the tail end of the Windows Phone 6.5 days - staring down probable ruin. I'd say I wish them a speedy recovery, but not really. They've screwed themselves over far too often. They deserve it, IMHO. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-06-08/htc-drops-to-decade-low-after-cutting-quarterly-sales-forecast http://bgr.com/2015/06/11/htc-one-m9-sales-share-price/
  4. I think Spotify cant dictate terms to record labels anymore, they need to compete on price with Apple who, while not the first player in the segment, is taking it very seriously.
  5. Apple doesn't need to boost iPhone sales. They sell tens of millions per quarter. They're fine. App Store makes billions. They're okay. Apple bought Beats because Iovine and Dre are the gatekeepers to the industry. You have those two working on your side for negotiations with record labels? That's money. Apple has a strong bargaining position. Far stronger than Spotify. Why would artists sign with Spotify when Apple can afford to cut better deals now?
  6. Google is gonna cry because this is going to be a lot of lost revenue. I will LOL even more if Apple builds in ad blockers themselves. Mega lols. Apple doesn't earn shit from ads the way Google does. Remember when Jobs said he was going thermonuclear on Google? Looks like they're getting them where it really hurts - the penis enlargement and mail order bride advertisements. Bravo.
  7. Damn, you must be one hardcore hacker kid. Are you the 4chan everyone is looking for? You must work for some government agency with such security comprising skills. Two clicks? Video proof pls.
  8. Umm...it's being marketed towards business use from the onset and business use gets far more support than consumer level gear.
  9. What does that have to do with anything? Its a custom W10 because the Hub is a niche product with a vastly different use case than most W10 products.
  10. The only thing that is to blame is that AMD doesn't have enough resources to maintain speedy driver development because they spent too much money on shitty ads and stupid marketing. Someone needs to fire Huddy and make sure he never works in the industry again.
  11. Nothing is worth than fanboys on either side. We all know it, yet some refuse to accept it.
  12. Because they don't know how corporations and the market actually work.
  13. You're telling me that niche brewers still exist making their soda products despite Cokes death grip and essential monopoly on the market? Say it ain't so!
  14. I love this example because this example is the best one. Search for a Patent from Coke on their recipes. You will NEVER find a single one. Why? Because patents expire and can be challenged, and so Coke would eventually lose their secret. But a trade secret? It can be protected for eternity. Never has to be shared, never has to be revealed short of a Supreme Court Order and even then, good luck getting Coke to unite two pieces of the recipe, as they say. What is Nvidia Gameworks? It is their Coke Classic. It will be protected until the end of time. Do people bitch that certain franchises, chains and now even stadiums are Coke or Pepsi only? Nope. Why bitch about games? Its inevitable because gaming, believe it or not, did not start all these "shady" business practices. Gaming companies learned from the best - corporate America, which has spent centuries learning how to fuck over competitors and consumers at the same time. So no, Gameworks will NEVER be opened, barring Nvidia willingly letting out the code. Game works is 100% Nvidia property. It is 100% theirs to use at their discretion and 100% theirs to sell to whomever wishes to use. And clearly studios and engine developers prefer working with Coke over Pepsi. Deal with it. Maybe if AMD wasn't too busy emulating the shit of Pepsi and tried harder to be like Coke, their products might actually sell and improve their standing in the marketplace.
  15. Do the same people cry that Havok isn't open sauce? Cause that isn't. DirectX isn't really open source either, yet everyone and their mother knows its the standard to develop for because MS only ships tens of millions of licenses a year with it built in. Oh idk, most good software is based on open standards that then are modified to do more. Kinda the point. Game works may very well one day get rolled into DX/individual engines and Nvidia will rightfully make a lot of money. Wait a minute! Game works already gets rolled into entire engines (like Unreal) because clearly someone, somewhere along the line realized that the additions are worthy and push things forward. Just saying.
  16. I have such a overpriced gaming PC for a grand total of 3 games. I paid more per game for my PC than I did my console. Kinda amusing, but lets not break the PC cirlcejerk with logic like that. You know what I think when all the Mustard Rats say when it comes to value and PC gaming being better and Praise GabeN? Well, I don't know what to think. Too busy just playing games and treating this like the wasteful hobby it is.
  17. Sorry, I don't join initiatives made by people who own Fatality audio gear. Razer Kraken or GTFO.
  18. LOL. When Android M was revealed, people said Google was just taking what iOS already had. Now that iOS 9 is out, people are saying Apple is just copying Android. I don't understand what people expect from companies these days. Plus, Apple has a stronger arm to leverage for Music than Spotify or Pandora ever will. That is their advantage. Spotify can't hope to negotiate with artists on the same level that Apple can. Apple will have more songs, artists will go away from Spotify if Spotify won't match what Apple pays.
  19. Pushing multiple screens is demanding. Especially for a game like Halo. Reach and 4 looked like shit under multi screen. 343 decided to forgo that in favour of preserving visuals. Its understandable, I don't entirely agree, but if they wanna maintain 1080/60 in all gameplay environments over having split screen in the campaign (it is still in custom games/online AFAIK) then that is their perogative.
  20. Get out. You know exactly why it won't happen, yet you keep spewing the same nonsense in every thread especially when no one wants it and it doesn't add to the discussion.
  21. Per 343, every single book has equal priority to the games, so yea they are Canon and unlike Bungie 343 won't screw around the books just to make a game story. So whatever has been released since 2012 till now is worth reading and catching up on. 343 really pushed the story forward.
  22. Comics are worth it, New Blood is worth it. Kilo 5 is a pile of terrible crap. Avoid. Read Halopedia and get up to speed. Karen took existing characters and turned them into a bunch of drama queens.
  23. It was explained in Halo: New Blood and a bunch of the comics. Buck was offered a chance at being a Spartan 4 and took it. Buck was also in Halo Reach, though more mentioning than anything else.
  24. MCC won't be ported because MCC is a coding disaster. The backend on that game is a downright nightmare, and they already cocked up a port to the Xbox One. Porting again to PC, dear god. I don't wish that task for any company. Halo 5 however? Chance. Halo Online being released globally? Far more likely.
