  1. They previous games didnt did they?, its meant to be a multiplayer game

Nope, they had bot mode (which Battlefront 3 still has). A lot of the complaining comes from rose tinted glasses and fair-weather "fans" who find it convenient to crap on EA for anything they do.

  2. Yes, and the game is still terrible. No matter what you do.

    You can't

Make peace between the Geth and Quarians..

Probably a lot of other stuff I'm forgetting because it's been so long. But stuff that might have been effected by the previous two games.

Long story short, the third game was a GIGANTIC slap in the face. The first two games were all about choice, the final game? *bitch smack* "Nothing you do matters, none of your choices really made anything different. You still LOSE."

If you can't make peace between the two, you played a shitty game. I had the perfect game and won. All armies  on my side, perfect readiness going into the last battle.

Of course the THIRD FUCKING GAME at the end of a trilogy would disregard choices. It is the END. It will end up being linear to some degree. Dunno what people expected.

  3. Hmm looks like the rumors a few weeks ago about Mass Effect and the Andromeda Galaxy were true. If all the rumors about the plot are true, then that's... disappointing. I know people were upset with the ME3 ending, but putting the game in a time and place long removed from the original trilogy doesn't seem like a good answer to me.

Ah well, CDPR is basically the new Bioware anyway.

They either had to do a prequel or move on. As much as I liked Shepard, I'm glad they are moving onto something else. The lore in ME is plentiful, they can pull it off.

  4. Why...? Games like DMC 3/4 (especially 4, cause you can change styles mid fight) were made for a controller that has a billion keys. And those are some of the best games out there (for me). If you don't want to play games because they are too complicated to play you'll miss a lot of great games. They are worth every second you put in them, mastering the game is part of the fun.

He is dead set on thinking this is a replacement controller, not a optional one akin to the SCUF or even RAzer Sabertooth. Customization for users if they want it, not a standard for developers to develop with. Reading comprehension isn't doing so well. It is 10000% optional to purchase and use. It is akin to buying a Logitech G700S over a OEM Dell mouse. More options, but not a development standard.

    Sheesh.

I figured I would post another press conference, EA is up next. I know what to expect from some on this forum (the shitposting is going to be amazing, no doubt) but if we could perhaps keep things on topic and discuss the games.

Mirrors Edge, Mass Effect, Battlefront, hell who knows what other franchise EA could bring back this year. It is certainly one of the more interesting conferences for E3.

The show starts at 2PM, so lets buckle up for what should be a good one. I will be updating it as it goes along. Because its fun, and cohesive threads > random nonsense.

    Mass Effect

Mass Effect: Andromeda will come out Holiday 2016

While we aren’t ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with.

Development on the game started while Mass Effect 3 was still being finished in early 2013. It’s being built in the Frostbite engine and will only be released on PC and current gen consoles.

    Need for Speed

This game has 5 overlapping stories, tons of customization.

    The Old Republic

New expansion, is free to current subscribers. Promises a return to classic "Bioware storytelling", IMHO if they really meant that they would give us KotOR III, not this MMO nonsense.

  6. Where does it say developers won't have this new controller make games more complicated?  I don't see anything saying that.  I am allowed to be concerned when controllers get more and more complex as looking at history gaming consoles controllers progressively have gotten more and more buttons and you don't think they are going to make use of more buttons eventually if the gamers want it?  For me being a bad gamer that is a nightmare and thus yes for me I don't want to see a controller like this coming out.

    Lol wow.

At what point did you miss the fact that this controller is 100% optional and intended for those who like to remap their button placements and trigger points? Amazing.

This controller ISNT FOR YOU. Since you clearly have no use for it. Its for those who want more customization in their control scheme. Nowhere does it say that developers are being told that this is now the standard controller layout. Lol. Amazing. You are knee jerking and panicking over a optional controller made for more hardcore and enthusiast gamers.

Tell me, once again, do you complain that gaming mice exist? Huh? They have so many extra buttons. So do gaming keyboard. Yet are those layouts a standard? No...developers don't develop with a 16 button mouse in mind. they develop with a two button, scroll wheel equipped mouse. Everything else is optional and for individual taste.

At this point you are trolling.

  7. Well, I wonder what Scuf will say.

Microsoft just pulled an accelerated EEE on Scuf.

Scuf was overpriced, had crappy customer service, and was entirely reliant on MS approving their devices for functionality on the console. MS has killed their creation overnight. Who is going to spend 200 on a 3rd party controller when 90 bucks on a first party one that is assured to work from day one till the day it truly dies?

  8. Kloaked if the games require more and more buttons to press there is less chance I can play the games.  Simple as that.  So yes more buttons on a controller does give me less reason to buy a new console if the game makers are going to make use of them all.  Also in regards to controllers and mice I have had certain buttons get in the way for me and hit them by mistake when gaming and that of course ruins my gaming experience.

You didn't read any of the briefing did you?

This controller is not adding additional buttons for developers to make use of. It is adding more buttons so YOU can decide which buttons to use best. So you can have your reload, action, jump and et al placed in different areas based off how YOU like it. So you can determine when the triggers are triggered based on YOUR preferences.

Where did you get this idea that game makers are going to use the Elite controller and add more button functions? Eh? Thats not what is happening at all.

This is the equivalent of you complaining that the Logitech G700S has too many buttons and that developers are going to force you to use them. NO. My G700s extra buttons are simply remapped macros and buttons from my keyboard. For MYSELF. Not because a developer is forcibly making me use them...

    Wow man. Just wow.

  9. Well, I think Microsoft killed it today. So excited for a lot of the stuff they announced.

They did, almost everything was about games.

Curious that COD was not a part of the MS briefing, I think MS stopped paying for those rights. Now PS4 owners get to enjoy the "Mountain Dew cheetos 4 life" image that Xbox owners have enjoyed for all these years.

  10. No idea, I just saw "exclusive" and stopped caring lol

Stop being so narrow minded then and get more information before you start having a panic attack.

Tomb Raider is a timed exclusive, likely it'll show up on PC before it shows up on PS4 even. Relax. Tomb Raider wouldn't even exist if MS didn't front the production costs.

  11. Is it a timed exclusive?

Don't see any fanboys saying that here (not looking other sitey). If they did, it would make them hypocrites since they were talking down on XBone for the same feature when Sony said PS is gonna get it.

I looked at /r/PS4 and saw so much cringe that I left. They actually think backwards compatibility is bad...

  12. Wait you don't? Do not lie VS, we can see through you.

On topic: I remember Sony saying something about backwards compatibility via clouding, don't rememember them saying it's gonna be a paid option.

Yea, I seriously doubt Sony can setup infrastructure to handle streaming games to PS4s. They already charge for old games, no way they add back compatibility unless MS really forces their hand.

We will find out, but I seriously doubt Sony has anything to rival MSs showing this year. PS4 fanboys are seriously butthurt over this, saying "who needs backwards compatibility". It is sad. MS effectively made PS Now look like crap and Sony is too stubborn to kill it.

  13. holy shit they fucking added early access to xbox, at least you can demo them before buying them which is something valve should do ASAP

welcome to modern gaming where consoles have more demos than the PCs...pretty sad. Then again, it isn't in Valves interest to let you have a demo because otherwise you'd know how shitty the games are in Early Access and Greenlight

It's called "reserving a topic so you have exclusivity of reporting"... what have we come to...

Yup, pretty sad. Everyone wants a WAN Show mention so bad.

Looks like we needed a proper thread for all this information so I am making one, it helps being organized. A lot of new information being revealed that is pretty neat, I will add it here.

Will update as I go along.

Xbox One is getting early access

    1298465570063828263.png

Yea, it finally happened. But unlike the mess known as Early Access on Steam, you get demos on the Xbox One before you plunk down money. Neat, right?

Wow, this is big. It’s called “Xbox Game Preview,” and it’s starting today with Elite: Dangerous and The Long Dark.

The first games coming to Xbox One’s take on Early Access are:

    • Sheltered
    • Day Z
    • The Long Dark
    • Elite: Dangerous

It’s not up just yet, though. Technically, it launches at 5:30PM PST today.

Both Microsoft and Sony have talked about taking on Early Access-style programs in the past, as outlined in a story Stephen Totilo wrote during E3 last year.

    Xbox partnership with Valve VR

I wish I had more to share on this end, but I don't. I'm trying to see if they flesh out the information on this and let us know what exactly this partnership involves.

    Xbox One Elite Controller

    CHjlWntUwAENmxq+copy.jpg

When you've got a good thing going, the prevailing wisdom says you shouldn't mess with it. But today, at Microsoft's E3 press event, the company unveiled a redesigned Xbox controller: the wireless Elite. The new and improved controller adds four bumper pads under the grips, a textured rolling pad that replaces the standard D-pad and hair trigger locks for more precise control when slaying the bad guys in your shooter of choice. But what's likely the most exciting aspect of the new Elite controller is the ability to hot swap the aforementioned parts according to your personal configuration. Microsoft didn't commit to a firm launch date for the Elite controller, but you can expect it to arrive sometime this Fall.

    Halo 5

    halo-5-guardians-e1419182386177.jpg

Halo 5: Guardians won't force you to you choose between the grand scale of its single-player story and the camaraderie of multiplayer... in theory, you'll get both at the same time. The crew at 343 Industries has revealed that its sci-fi shooter will include Warzone, a 24-player mode that has you facing off against both other humans and AI opponents. Its maps are about four times the size of those from earlier games in the series, too. The addition reflects just how important the team dynamic (also shown off in single-player mode at E3) will be when Halo 5 arrives in October -- it's anything but an afterthought.

    Backwards Compatibility

    1298435314274044741.png

This is a big deal, since PCs still don't have a proper PPC emulator for the Xbox 360 and now MS is making it work natively off the Xbox One. That is seriously awesome, AND ITS FREE.

TAKE THAT SONY! Who wants to pay for your old games via a subscription service when MS is straight up letting old games work natively!

Backwards compatibility is coming to current-gen gaming. Microsoft just announced that the Xbox One will be able to play Xbox 360 games. Announced on stage and demonstrated with Mass Effect by Mike Ybarra, it sounds a lot like the OG Xbox -> Xbox 360 setup, you just plug in the disc, the system downloads a patch if necessary and then plays it. Microsoft took a chance to ding Sony for its PlayStation Now setup too, promising "gamers won't have to pay to play games they already own." According to Major Nelson, if you're in the Xbox preview program you will be able to try this out later today. A teaser image for the feature showed off other games like Perfect Dark Zero, Gears of War, Super Meat Boy, Halo Reach, Halo 3, Shadowrun and Borderlands.

    Fallout 4 Mods

    1298443513379992645.png

I can hear the PC Mustard Race having a stroke over this, as they will have to find something else to lord over console gamers for with this latest addition to Fallout 4.

Any mods created on the PC version of Fallout 4? Xbox One players will be able to play that too, Todd Howard announced during Microsoft’s E3 presser. Wow!

Howard didn’t share any specifics, but regardless of how the modding situation works, it does mean that console players will get a taste of just how bonkers Fallout can become when players are given control. The question is, will there be limits to what console players can download? Or will it be a wild west, like it typically is on PC?

EA Access free for this week

    maxresdefault.jpg

All Xbox Live Gold members will be able to play EA Access Vault games for the next week, EA announced at Microsoft's press conference today.

EA exec Peter Moore revealed this just after announcing that Titanfall and Dragon Age: Inquisition are both on their way to Access.

Inquisition won't be out until later this summer, but Titanfall is expected out this week, so you'll likely have access to that. You can also freely play all existing Vault games, a list that includes Battlefield 4, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, FIFA 15, Need for Speed Rivals, and quite a few others.
