  1. Never used this program before, and it is listing a ton of stuff so hopefully its in here. CPU Enhanced (I think): https://gyazo.com/3da2490bd6f9a415a5681ff53d84acb5 General: https://gyazo.com/be6519d6cd7cea838f018bf52df94dec Ryzen Master: https://gyazo.com/a95ff69f7c7f4d1c598999bd3a11088d
  2. Okay updated BIOS. CPU speeds seem to be the same as before so no progress on that front, but now the issue seems to be slightly different. The EDC has gone down to fluctuating numbers. Hovering up and down around 65% of 90 A, Limit 168 A. Which if it stayed there that would be fine I guess, but the EDC rapidly shoots to 99% anytime I do any sort of input. Like if I play a Youtube video, it constantly stays at 99%. If I pause it, it returns to around 65%. If I move my mouse around without stopping or hold down a keyboard button it will shoot up to 99% as well. So now it's linked to user input or if the computer sends any sort of signal like audio I guess. Any ideas?
  3. Ryzen Power Plan wasn't listed as an option in the power selection options. Using Regular Windows Balanced. Bios is a couple of months behind current version. Windows is up to date. I'll try updating BIOS. Gotta fish out a flash drive from somewhere though.
  4. Just got a Ryzen 7 CPU and i'm going through the works to make sure it's working correctly. I'm not familiar enough with power consumption to know if it is pulling to much power. Currently downloading a game, and doing some light browsing, and it's getting peak speeds of around 3.850GHz according to Ryzen Master. I think I saw around 4GHz is normal for gaming, but i'm not doing anything at all really and it's running it kind of close. Sometimes breaching 4 GHz. In addition, Ryzen Master is saying my EDC(CPU) is at 99% of 90 A, Limit 168 A, whatever that means. I've changed my power plan to balanced, set minimum to 5%, applied it, and tinkered around with other power plan options, but the EDC is still showing red. This seems to have been the solution for other people, but not me I guess. Help would be much appreciated. 5. After some googling I came across a thread in Tom's Hardware, and someone had my same issue. Someone recommended he download Ryzen's overclocking application, to get a read on the temperatures. And sure enough, the temperatures are pretty normal on Ryzen's app. I could put on my tin-foil hat and say AMD is just making their CPU appear better, but I think this is just a case of programs not being to properly read the CPU's temps. The app displays my temp at a nice and cozy 26.5C. So unless I have any other problems indicating a temperature problem, I think this is resolved. Thanks for the help everyone. AMD's Ryzen Master Utility tool can be downloaded here should anyone else have my same problem: https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/ryzen-master
  6. So unfortunately, the thermal paste doesn't seem to be the problem. I cleaned it up real nice with some isopropyl alcohol and got most of it off save for some negligible smudges. Put about a grain of rice worth on it this time and my CPU temps are the same. Still just sitting here idle and it is fluctuating around 74-85 (with a max of 93). Where should I begin the search next?
  7. Ah man. That sucks. Guess i'll get to removing it here in a second and share results.
  8. This is my first attempt at an install of not only a motherboard, but also a CPU. After getting it all set up, I opened up Speccy to see how the temps were, and it's reading 75-85 on idle. (I read 91 at one point) Since this is my first attempt at something like this, not exactly sure where to begin troubleshooting. What I know so far: 1. I applied a generous amount of thermal paste, so I don't think the problem lies there. (More specifically, what I assume is the paste that comes already on the cooler, in addition to some third party thermal paste on top of that.) 2. I struggled a bit get the CPU cooler on, but all the screws I believe are tightened down all the way. 3. System door is open, so air intake shouldn't be a problem. 4. I am using the stock AMD cooler that comes with the Ryzen 7 2700. 5. All my fans are running at max with the fan speed options on my Stormtrooper Coolermaster case. If anyone could help me with this i'd be very grateful.
  9. So I just replaced the CMOS battery, no dice. For now, we know that it's not Windows, not the PSU, not the RAM, and not the CMOS. Man this hurts me.
  10. Yeah I already tested if one of the RAM sticks were bad. But the problem persisted no matter what slot it was in or what stick it was. I'll see if the CMOS battery is the problem here in just a second.
  11. mabby chek the power supply. do you have another cumputer? if you do youse that power supply.

I've tested two power supplies. My older one, and the new gold 550W power supply I bought. The problem is persisting through both power supplies.

  12. I'll try it. Anything need to know about replacing the battery? Battery types, where to buy them, stuff like that?
  13. I've been looking for a solution for this problem for like a month now. My PC is constantly shutting off at random times. The only consistency I find in the time that it shuts off, is during boot when the computer powers on. It will power on, then shut off almost immediately or after a few seconds. It will repeat this cycle for a while until it finally decides it wants to power on. And even then, it still may shut off during use just not very frequently. I've had this computer since 2013 and this wasn't a problem until about last month. Thinking it was the power supply, I bought a gold rated PSU with a bit more wattage (550W, 500W before) but to no avail. I reinstalled Windows, tested and diagnosed my RAM, cleaned the computer of dust, but none of it seems to be the issue. One person has suggested to me that it could be the motherboard, but i'd like a second opinion on that since i'd have to buy a new motherboard and RAM because may as well just upgrade to DDR4 since I am still running DDR3. The only other thing I can find wrong, is that my RAM has displayed different timings about a week apart. Here is the spec list: Operating System Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.40GHz 25 °C Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology RAM 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24) Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co.
