You definitely don't need a Ryzen 9 for gaming, even with "future-proof" intentions. Stick to the R7.

If you have a computer to get you by there's new cpus expected from AMD in the next couple months, also new graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD.
If you don't care about that, the 3700x should be adequate for the forseeable future, should be able to pair with a 2070/2080 super

I wouldn't have thought so. If the PSU doesn't work you'll at least have a spare for the future.

also also could it maybe be that my pc case is a mid size not full so it doesn’t get enough airflow?

Well it’s happened twice since I “disabled” runtime broker so I’m gonna go ahead and order a new psu /:

Could it be that my cpu is set to run at 3.6 and while gaming it’s constantly at 3.9 ish?

True. Hopefully with a new psu all this mess gets cleared up

this is so bizarre, its frustrating the hell out of me. if i go and buy a new power supply and this problem still occurs id be bette off selling my system and then just buying a completely new one lol

-
LavishLinc got a reaction from Ben17 in Confused...
yeah, i did the windows+R Regedit and disabled it there..
i checked on it again and it said it was disabled but somehow it still was able to initiate a shut down....

ok so i disabled runtime broker and it happened again, so i looked up the system logs and it said that runtime broker initiated the power off.... so bizarre.
maybe getting a new PSU is the play here

I am gonna talk to the geek squad at my local Best Buy to see what it could be. I may just buy a new power supply and hope that’s the issue

so ive had this pc for about 6 months
when i first got it, it used to happen a lot
then i updated my drivers and it stopped
then like 2 months ago it started happening again and i updated my driver and it still happened.
now it happens in the most random times

@mr moose @Juular
i looked at the events manager and before every "unexpected system shutdown" it said that the process RuntimeBroker.exe has initiated the power off of my computer

Tomorrow I will look at the logs and see exactly what the system is going through moments before the power off. I can in fact confirm tho after the shut off the fans and everything turn off and aren’t spinning except that for whatever reason a couple things ( like my mic, webcam, and WiFi adapter) are lit up (as if the pc was still on) and the power button doesn’t turn on the pc( I’ve held it down And clicked it multiple times) but only turns on after I cycle it.
