Gamer Schnitzel got a reaction from Lapsio in Gamers Nexus calling out Linus for monetizing on his own controversy
GN is a prime example of what the purpose of the internet should have been and how technology should have been used but instead GN is a dying breed, an artifact of an old world and once he is gone there won't be anything like it. Steve goes into absurd amounts of details when reviewing just like people used to back in the day. These days Linus and any other "content" creators just scream a little into the mic cause they know the Fortnite and Minecraft generations like that very much and put idiotic expressions into their thumbnails blaming it on the fact that "it works". If their wives starts going out naked because "it works" to get rich will they also accept "it works" as a reason lol? How about some common sense and decency? What about ethics? Shall the biggest countries in the world just start bombing the weaker ones because they "can" and it is the "logical" step toto a better life for developed countries? I mean.. it works.. no..? Anyway, who cares, everything is going to shit anyway and this debacle has everything to do with it. What kind of argument is "just trust me" which Linus made when it came to the warranty..? Why does he think he can get away with behaving in this manner..? Oh yeah, because he actually thinks he is an "influencer" so he is cool. Again, one more thing that the internet spawned that should have never existed. Do you guys think Linus would buy a £500 bag literally ever? The nerd? Who built his own PC cause it saves him money? He is just milking the gullible and naive people just like all other "influencers". We used to hate on celebrities for their greed but all those celebs actually produced movies and music to get their cash and those are available for very low prices to anyone and now hobos are getting $1,000.00 donations randomly cause someone thought they looked cute or their validated their opinion.

Keep cheering guys but ultimately what this does is contribute to the dumbing down of the world population. Back in the day if you were a computer user you were by default more intelligent because several tasks on the PC took quite a bit of work and understanding whereas now you press 1 button and everything gets done for you but where are the computer users now? Nowhere. Nobody owns computers anymore. Instead people are obsessed with liking images of attractive girls on social media. A kid who spends time doing complicated things growing up will never ever sit around on social media and like people's images. They will choose a hobby that requires some level of brain activity but kids today barely do anything that requires them to think these days and that's why every generation is getting dumber and even more weird and now people don't even need to memorize USB names or speeds anymore because the amounts of + will tell you which is better or worse. The best part of this is that the people on this forum are the rejects who spend their time online and don't like society but you guys are sitting here celebrating a change that will make society worse. Keep it up Einsteins.

    Honestly who cares?
Who plays WoW in 2023? Who? Can you guys write below if you still play 2023 and add your job title and salary + relationship status and age? Go?

Still waiting for someone to disprove that ONLY LOSERS play this dogshit game. They legit started Classic cause there are so many boomers still addicted with WoW missing the good ol' days when their lives were not depressing so now they are 30-40 year old men fantasizing how nice it was being a teen playing WoW all day.
Blizzard and WoW is the MAIN argument for anyone who says that demand and supply works BECAUSE IT DOES NOT. Demand and supply implies that we would always get the top products because customers will choose the best which companies will strive towards but Blizzard legit only releases GARBAGE and people buy it because theyre braindead and heavily groomed to buy all their junk. People literally buy store mounts ON RELEASE even if they do not use them.

nuh, i was always running the latest Need For Speed, Tomb Raider, other mainstream stuff on my moms cheap Aldi PC (which always came with a Nvidia/AMD GPU back then) no issues whatsoever.

And before that the "GPU" was just a cheapo chip on the board, again,  no issues with any game you would throw on it, *precisely* because the games were made to run on this shi... as long you had any kind of 3D or "2.5D" "accelerator" you were fine...

Nowadays you basically dont even need to try without a ~500 $$$ GPU for "AAA" games, not to mention the other requirements like expensive RAM and CPUs that need to meet certain requirements... sure you'll probably still get away with an Aldi,  but it'll cost you 3x more probably

Nowadays devs put weird requirements like certain cpu instruction sets, certain windows "versions" and other bs that doesn't even significantly improve anything just so they can tick the box for the latest gimmick/ buzzword

Now that there is AI that you can tell what to do why should you have devs..? Just tell the AI to create a video game and it will code it? You guys have no idea what's coming but keep spamming Discord with AI art thinking it's funny. You're all going to be unemployed and no there will not be free money for the unemployed either. The future is a disgusting place and yet all of you are obsessed with being "modern". Good luck to you.

I really miss the good old days. Back then I had no idea what GPU I had but every single game I ever played ran on maximum settings. Now you buy a new PC and the first AAA game that comes out next runs like garbage because game devs don't optimize so they can push the release date earlier. I expect to run a game at maximum settings with a 3080 on 1440p. The game doesn't even look that good and often times it is just blurry. Either way I cancelled my pre-order and spent it on Dead Space instead where I get 100 FPS.

It's the government that failed and not Google because the government allows their existence. All those Cali companies should have been raided a long time ago and dissolved. 20 years ago making a company meant that you are selling a lot of printers and people like buying printers. Today being the biggest company means nothing more than predetary behaviour, extensive child grooming to rewire their brain into buying whatever you put in front of them and data theft wherever possible.
    These are not businesses anymore.
This all started when Steve Jobs died and his monkey replacements went full retard with the marketing and Apple became the first company to hit a market cap of 1tn. It did not happen because Apple is so cool and makes just such nice devices. It's because they groomed children into believing that their social status changes when they have an iPhone in their pocket.
Installing AdBlock doesn't save you from the brain damage you will have in 5 years because that's what Google and Facebook are working on internally. They want to fuck your brain and they will do successfully.

    Which to me is fine.
Extreme chips in the past were generally always like this on both CPU and GPU side (titans), diminishing returns. double digit increase in price with single digit increase in performance.

To me this part seems fair for what it is, the target market is extremely small, and production of it will be extremely small.

The EU needs to put a ban on all this disgusting furry porn and animated trash. It literally is aimed primarily at children. Steam is filled with groups where underage people share this. It also fucks up their brain so hard that they become absolutely incompetent and can no longer be a part of society. Go one step further and exclude anyone under 16 from the internet. If it keeps going this way the system will literally just crash when all the current boomers retire and there is barely anyone with a brain to take their jobs.

I doubt it was an engineering sample. Why would one of those use essentially a retail cooler package when far as I know that's not the done thing for functionality testing, they go in rackmount systems or if much earlier stage then engineering benches. If it's a cooler engineering sample then similarly it wouldn't have made it out of the CAD phase if it's going to be an actually sane 3 fan design.

The simple fact is the existing 4090 cooler can accommodate ~600W just fine so the need to make an even bigger and stupider version of the same thing makes no logical or engineering sense. Without a way to efficiently move the heat away from the GPU die and get it to the extra fin area the cooling to area efficiency is just going to be terrible.

Do we honestly thing Nvidia took the 4090 cooler to a photocopier and pressed *Enlarge 1.2x"? I don't.

If your concern surrounding censorship is the lack of skin on display or the ethnicity of a character being that of a minority, your concerns are always to be dismissed without further comment or thought. Because both just say way more about you than you might realize.

I'm guessing they disagree as much as I do. First of all, they add the "woke shit" because it's the right thing to do, to increase representation. And the flak you mention always come from a particular corner of society. Namely the one that spends a lot of time gathering outrage about things they don't really care about but use that outrage as a vehicle for radicalization and policy making. Most people truly don't care about this stuff, they neither go out and buy media with woke content for the sake of woke content or specifically avoid it either. But if you fall into a particular bubble of online culture, you might end up feeling like everybody hates this stuff and companies are doing it just for shits and giggles, to specifically annoy you. If you're that far down the quicksand, you might want to find a way out.

I paid $4000 for my first laptop....THAT WAS REAL MONEY THEN.
Today, spending more than around $2000 is overkill, and of course the difference in function is off the charts different.

Anyway, what was a $300 graphics card is now $1000....but the years have passed, and inflation has done its slow and insidious work.

Gamer Schnitzel reacted to Middcore in AMD or Nvidia for recording/streaming
Nvidia's NVENC encoder used to be significantly better than AMD's encoder but now they're pretty close with Nvidia still having a slight edge.

I am pretty sure that most people who are "serious" about recording/streaming (IE do it professionally) have a setup where encoding is handling on a CPU, with some of course even having a whole separate streaming PC to take the load off the PC running the game.

It kind of comes down to how "serious" you are about streaming/recording to decide how much that capability on the GPU matters to you versus other concerns like performance for money.

    My thoughts
While I agree too much social media can be bad for mental health, I'm not sure about entirely outright banning it for kids. At the same time, could you imagine if sites didn't have to worry about age restrictions or other family friendly requirements anymore in an adults only social media landscape? Would this be a revival of sites such as YouTube where some people believe family friendly restrictions have gone too far; or would this be a privacy nightmare that is one data breach away from heavy devastation? ¿Por qué no los dos?
