  1. @alyen did a quick google and the majority says that AIO's on 24/7 is fine. THANK YOU FOR THE FEEDBACK THO.; were you able to find much about it when you bought it? i haven't found much info on it at all! It seems like a lot of people are coming into the liquid cooling sub form just to tell people not to use AIO but again thats NOT what this discussion is about. The question is should i be concerned about using the DEEPcool AIO mentioned. over a traditionally branded AIO anyone using the deepcool AIO mentioned i'd love more feedback from you as well. As an electrician i can tell you that inrush current can do more damage to a pump and electronics that just leaving it on all the time. in a closed system like this im not concerned.
  2. @GoldenLag c'maaan liquid cooling is not all bad. I wouldn't want to set up a custom pump or anything but I feel like they have these AIO's figured out these days... plus they look a lot better than a head sink or fan in my opinion. @Quadriplegic I know, that's why i'm on here asking for opinions from a community I trust .... but the whole reason for getting an AIO is for looks imo. otherwise i'd just drop a fan and a heatsink on the thing.
  3. hey guys, building my new computer over the month of black friday sales. just got my 9900k i9 and now im looking at how to cool it. originally i was going to go with the: CORSAIR Hydro Series, H115i RGB PLATINUM https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16835181152?Description=corsair&cm_re=corsair-_-35-181-152-_-Product but then i saw the deepcool castle rgb v2 360 and i fell in love with the look of the thing. (almost no branding and the center piece can be replaced with a reflective disk that makes it an infinity mirror) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07KXDS89W/ref=gbps_tit_m-5_2e6d_32606958?pf_rd_p=b6ecb231-843e-4399-9f14-e4b4ce8f2e6d&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-5&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=14611829011&pf_rd_m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_r=TWT2KM83S1XCQHSZWCGZ&th=1 basically if the deepcool AIO will cool to a similar level (and is not prone to leaking) id rather use it for purely aesthetic reasons. However, there is very little information about this specific model of AIO online which concerns me. I figured i'd come ask you lovely people so you can set my mind at ease or scare me into buying a more traditionally branded AIO. to be clear: I will not be overclocking my cpu. I use my computer for gaming, programming, light video editing, etc. computer stays on 24/7. i am going liquid for looks not practicality. I know air cooled preforms the same or better. help me linus tech tips, your my only hope (considering linus hasn't already done a video on this AIO *ahem*)
  4. @Midnitewolf, i feel ya man. I personally had a really bad experience with my first builds gpu (which to be fair was like 12 years ago) using an amd card and i'll never go back. These boys convinced me to buy now and the benchmarks have almost convinced me to get the 2080ti. It benchmarks as much as 20% better than a super... the 2080 super is only like 1/4 of the way between a 2080 and a 2080ti.
  5. thanks for the feedback guys. My biggest concern was that the new ampere cards were going to be a significant leap forward in raytracing, requiring an upgrade from the 2080 super within a couple years to fully take advantage of said raytracing. Yes i know that raytracing has technically been unlocked for non rtx cards at this point but they certainly aren't optimized. based on the feedback though, barring any other input, I think i'm just going to go for the 2080 super now rather than wait to game in 4K. Much love to those that chimed in <3
  6. I'm building myself a new gaming computer on black friday and i've ran into a stumbling block. the new nvidia ampere's are "hypothetically" coming out in march of next year. now i'm buying the rest of the computer on black friday regardless (i already got my 9900k i9 during the black november sale on newegg) and i'm currently running a 970 which, isn't ideal, but it could last me till next year. what are the communities thoughts? buy a 2080 super now or wait and hope the new nvidia ampere releases in Q1? also, motherboard suggestions appreciated :) thanks fam
