Need help in dell laptop battery
suraj ranjan replied to suraj ranjan's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Okay, so then what I used to do was right itself, locking it to 80% and keep it plugged in while use.. But then when should I discharge the battery? Like how often? -

Okay, but what are the tips to maintain the health of laptop battery? I used to lock the charging to 80% and keep it plugged in all the time but I heard from the shopkeeper that it is bad to keep it plugged in all the time, instead asked to maintain between 20-80% but I am concerned that the regular recharge and discharge would affect the battery cycle, but idk..would like to know about this -

Need help in dell laptop battery

So basically when it is displayed as 40Wh on battery, the report should show the designed capacity near to that, right? -
Hello, I have been using dell laptop since last 6-7 years and just today I changed the battery but there is a confusion with the battery capacity in the battery I got today and the previous one. On my stock battery it's shown as 40Wh and when I checked within the system the designed capacity is shown as 41,440mWh and the new battery which I got today has the same 40Wh written on it but the design capacity on the battery report is shown as 32,560mWh. I felt this wasn't right, so I could get help with some of your inputs on this.

I did the above and today still I got the BSOD with the same error, then ran the memory test again, no issues, later I checked for the driver, there was a update, when I tried installing I got the BSOD, it was stuck in BSOD, had to hard shut it down, logged in tried updating and got the BSOD again..So the whole problem is with the driver I guess, but I am not able to update it, what do I do?
-
Okay, will do.. Also someone please clarify me on the pagefile thing, like what should be the exact setting be?
-
Hello everyone, Just few mins ago, I got this BSOD error on my PC, this is first time, I am not sure why. I also saw under the error code, like "WHAT STOPPED: K7SENTRY.SYS" was displayed. I checked several videos on YT, many suggested to uncheck the automatically managed pagefile and set to no paging file but the settings I have is, I have enabled 'system managed size'..I was confused if I should set it 'no paging file' and btw I have 16gb ram installed.. Also one more thing I noticed was, usually I put the system to sleep if I am away for sometime, when I came back and turned on the system, I lighting of case fans didn't on, every time it would turn on and after using the browser for few mins I got this BSOD error.. I would like to hear the reasons why this happened and solutions to avoid getting the error again. Thank you.

Hello, I am using Gigabyte B360M Gaming HD mother board, processor is i5 9400F and I am planning to buy Hyper 212 LED TURBO ARGB air cooler but I have some confusion like if it will support to control the lighting of fans through the software as I don't want to open my case every time to change the lighting. Motherboard has cpu fan and system fan header and it also supports RGB fusion 2.0 so will I able to control with that software?? If not, please suggest me some solution.. Is it possible to merge the both the drives while files are in it using mini tool partition?
-
Oh okay...or may be I will have to empty drive J, delete the drive and then extend it with drive I, right?
-
Hello, I have attached the pic, check into it, I want to delete the partition of drive 'I' which is in disk 0. Basically when I got the laptop I had only HDD and that drive used to be my c drive, later I have added the SSD and made it a boot drive. Now I want to delete that partition and extend it to drive 'J' but I am not sure is it possible to do..So I would appreciate the suggestions below

suraj ranjan replied to suraj ranjan's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Thank you, my doubt on 2nd and 3rd is clear. But I am sorry, regarding the 1st question, so is it safe to leave the wall power on ?? Like, limit to 80% and let the power supply be on all the time, just like desktop, it won't affect the battery, right? -
Hello, I am using laptop since last three or four years and I had no idea on how to maintain laptop battery health until recently I checked my battery capacity which has come down from it's full capacity 41mWh to just 16mWh, I know lithium ion battery capacity comes down gradually but I would like to get some inputs on maintaining better life for more time. Some of the doubts which I already have are.. 1.Can we leave the wall power connected to laptop all the time? 2. Charging to 100% and allowing it completely discharge below 20% is bad? 3. Is 40%-80% battery charging good for better battery?

Hey, I am using dell vostro 15-3568 laptop, right now the specs are i5 7200U (2 cores), 8 gb ram, 2gb radeon R5 M420, 256 ssd+1tb hdd and 41.5mWh (but presently the battery capacity as come down to 16.7mWh).. I am using this laptop since last 4 years and I use this for regular use, I don't game that often with this, may just once in a while, most of the usage is for browsing, watching movies and for work. I was thinking to upgrade to 16gb ram, where I will have to get 2 8gb ram sticks cuz the present ram are 4+4, and battery though the capacity is less, I have limited the charge til 80% and leave the wall power on..When I am getting the new battery should I get the same 41.5mWh or can get more mWh? Also is 16gb ram worth for 2 core cpu??
