Again, the 750W power supply is not suitable for the strong platforms with 3090, turning the platform off is not surprising in this case and is not an argument, it's not the fault of the psu, it's the fault of ignorance.

Nobody knowledgeable buys 750W psu for 3090 when system with this card can easily draw 1300-1400W in peaks. And it's not even on HEDT platform, only with overclocked 10900K. So what are you even talking about lol...

You can take this, very good unit based on Seasonic Focus platform with bigger heatsinks inside and improved noise levels by Asus. OPP set to ~130% (960W) so there will be no problem with peaks of 3080 and 5950X.

Not Jon or Aris, and will never claim to be, but I can tell you this much for sure.

My machine as it sits right now can pull enough wattage to shut down a GOOD quality 750W PSU if I really push the system hard with my 3080 FTW3 Ultra, and I don't have to OC the GPU either. And that is not measured from the wall, that's actual wattage the PSU is supplying to the machine. While my current PSU is sitting nice and comfy at 95% efficiency. If that tells what kind of power it's pulling. I saw spikes up to 800W+.

And that's not even getting into the transient power spikes.

And this card I have now pulls even more power than my last one did, just ran some tests today to confirm it.

    Reason why I posted this.

And the 3090 FTW3 Ultra pulls even more power than what I have.

They do pull a lot of power, and I do mean a lot, especially the 3x 8 Pin cards.

I know mine, 3080 FTW3 Ultra with the 450W XOC VBIOS can pull 470W just from the 3X 8 Pin alone, that's not from the wall, that's from the PSU to the card.

    And that's not even overclocked.

And I have a screen shot of that being reported by my PSU that breaks it down by a direct hardware link per connection in Amps.

But that's not getting into the Power spikes of 976W for 20ms that needs the proper equipment to see.

    So I would say no, 750W really isn't enough for the 3X 8 Pin 3080 or 3090.

And yes I actually do have one, this is my 3rd one now since early Oct, 1st two were RMAed.

Thanks for missing the point entirely lol....and the only reason I said 750w is because that's the only one that is confirmed. I don't know if the higher wattage models trip too, like the 1000w for 3090. And if you want to argue, at least argue about stock clocks (which is where Nvidia gets it's PSU recommended wattage from) and not an overclocked card.

yeah ok buddy, i got a stock SO OLD that it was from the first batch of the v2 fx and you want me to believe that 2020 batches actually exist and that you can buy them(without naming your info of all things)? Alright now i can see why some people dislike the list concept, its bullshit like this that fucks people over and i now realise i put too much trust into you and this list in general

They are top notch PSU's.  LTT simply doesn't favor them because they want multi-rail 12v lines at the top tier due to OCP/OVP issues. But there's nothing wrong with them.

A Turkish guy on our forum has some ideas on you guys

im translating directly. i will send your answers to him as well (he seems ignorant though)

"I never was able to take these lists serious in my life. When I saw the Be Queiet's Pure Power is one tick below the best tier, I just laughed at them. Then they probably got it right and put into 5th category. They used to rule out High Power brand completely in the past, now for some reason they are putting them in. There are some improvements compared to past years but there are still some nonsense in their list. For example, Bitfenix Formula and Whisper series are listed above EVGA G2/P2 FSP Aurum PT Hydro G/G pro Seasonic Focus GX and such.
Even more so, NZXT E series are above those I listed. It is clear that the guy made the list have no idea that NZXT E and Seasonic Focus Gold is entirely built same way."

I, too, wonder if the claim is true, why did NZXT E is listed above the Seasonic Focus Gold? What made Focus gold worse?

Meanwhile, we see completely different story on this tier-list - various psu's drop to lower tiers because they have high OVERLOAD ripple (which is often a measurement error like 268mV 120% load Focus FX on pceva when another reviewer measured max ~30mV on 130% load), so i want to know who is right, JG or author of this list @LukeSavenije ?.

Tom's hw reviewer used extremely flawed methods to test MSI's low-end X570 motherboards, claims it's great and called everyone who reported horrible VRM temps (quite a few) trolls and generally acted like an asshole.

Are you serious? ATX spec is 120mv... 42mv at 120% is ridiculously low, you will hardly find anything better than that even in more expensive PSUs,

Sapphiree reacted to SexualHealing in [EOL] PSU Tier List rev. 14.8
You have no reason for that.,You started accusing Seasonic long ago with no proof. Pceva a completely unknown site from China is simply the last thing you could find to try to support your misinformation, before that you were already accusing them. You are simply wrong, no known reviewer found any issue with the Focus Plus. And this one has a video of the test. Juular is as biased as he seems to trust text more than a video, 42mv too high, what an expert,.

I asked you for sources of all your claims and you never provided any proof.

That quote is valid to any PSU. The ripple being seen is higher than Focus Plus. Only here people rate untested and unseen ripple.

Focus GX and the other new Focuses are good just because.
All previous Focuses are not good just because.

I am familiar with that topic, a search for Seasonic Focus issues only brings LukeSavenije on several forums saying you should not buy it, or references to his posts.

There is a picture of the GX internals in the Seasonic site, from what is visible it is the same as Focus Plus just as claimed by Seasonic. Several Focus models have non visible differences. What makes the GX special without any actual testing? Nothing.

So he should post the screenshot of his oscilloscope with ripple at 120% load, until it is not done it is the same as the test by Pceva. According to yourself.

It does not say anything other than Focus Plus v1 compatibility issue with a few graphic cards.
