  1. Run Cinebench and check how much power the CPU is drawing using HWINFO.
  2. Very. You'll need an internet connection in order to download games, updates, and play with others.
  3. Time for some public outrage! We praise good companies and do the opposite for the bad ones.
  4. Please list your system specifications as we try to sort through your issues, as your description is helpful, but only given specs.
  5. A 5600X might be fine for just gaming, but CS is something that I always find to be difficult to less core-ed processors. Go with a 5800X, you can usually find one on discount, or if you can, buy a 5900X if you can find one. I suggest looking at some of Noctua's air coolers. They're tiny and can still handle the hot Zen 3 parts from AMD, and are cheaper than AIOs.
  6. Isn't 48C fine for hard drives and within their operating temperature?
  7. Ryzen 5000's release also brought about a very useful undervolting tool called Curve Optimizer. Instead of delivering a traditional undervolt, it actually shifts the voltage curve, bringing lower temps at the same clocks. It'd be really useful to have a well-done guide on this, as there isn't much about it.
  8. Check to see if anything is running in the background that's hogging your system resources. If there's nothing, check to see if you have thermal paste under your CPU cooler. Make sure it covers the entire IHS.
  9. No idea if anyone else has already had the time or the interest in doing this. Anyways, I'll just post it here in the hopes that anyone who hasn't seen this before is fascinated. I was actually just taking a dump when I noticed this. Look at the Hard Drive Shirt. You'll notice a that there's Torx-esque stars that seem to be leaving a trail of dots and dashes. There's a total of three separate 8-bit sequences of dots and dashes. Two sequences are of length 15, and the remaining one is of length 3. I translated this into binary. Each dot represents a "0" and each dash represents a "1". Long 8-bit Sequence of Length 15: 01001100 01101001 01101110 01110101 01110011 00100000 01010100 01100101 01100011 01101000 00100000 01010100 01101001 01110000 01110011 Short 8-bit Sequence of Length 3 01001100 01010100 01010100 The long sequence translates to "Linus Tech Tips" The short sequence translates to "LTT" This is some great attention to detail done by the merch team, and certainly the most clever thing T-Shirt design I've ever seen. I wonder what other easter eggs are hidden in the merch.
  10. If you're happy with your system, then there's absolutely no reason to upgrade. I feel like once this GPU shortage is over, you might want to consider upgrading your GPU though. That's all, everything else looks pretty good for the next couple years.
  11. They use Shopify. It's well known already, and it can even be found at the bottom of the site. "Powered by Shopify"
  12. Are you using the GPU to actually do anything (ie 3D, Video, Compute, etc)? If it's powering your display, then it's doing something.
  13. Haven't experienced any crashes on a 5950X/3070/C850. Regarding the crashing issue. Have you done anything along the lines of overclocking or undervolting? The second idea that I had was that 30-series GPUs draw lots of power, sometimes they might eat enough power for a short amount of time that your power supply just can't stand it. This was a known issue with 30-series cards. A 5950X and a 3080 should be very well fed by an 850W. My 5950X running PBO2 with Curve Optimizer guzzles around 250W using P95, and during a GPU test, my 3070 drew 225W, yet it's been stable since the settings were applied. Regarding the USB issue. Have you updated your BIOS? Apparently, AMD boards had an issue with USB that was fixed in most motherboard BIOSes.
  14. Unless achieving the thinnest possible laptop is a must, the general advice is to go with something that's light enough to carry around that packs the biggest punch.
  15. Is there a reason you need to use the riser?
