Hey,
Kinda new here, sorry if that's not the right place to ask or something..
I've got an old semi-modular Enermax Liberty 400w PSU (elt400awt) and I wanna pair it with an xfx rx 480 (which is rated 150w).
Unfortunately, the PSU has two 6 pin connectors, while the GPU requires a single 8 pin connector. Is it safe to use an adapter like shown in the image below? I think it's actually suppose to split a single 8 pin to dual 6 pin, but because the PSU is semi-modular, I thought that I can connect the adapter to the PSU directly and add an 8 pin male to male cable between the adapter and the GPU.
If that's safe, how bad it will be to pair this GPU with a Xeon E5 1650 (which is rated 130w)?
Looks like there are 2 rails of 12v+ which can provide up to 360w when combined, if that's helping.
(sorry about my English if I had any mistakes, I'm not a native speaker)
