  1. I have a B550I AORUS PRO AX board with a 3600x CPU. All the hardware I am using aside from the board is known to work, so I am guessing it has to be the board but I thought I'd double check to see if I could be missing something. When attempting to power it on, it'll power on but there is no display and no beeps (I have a speaker attached). When holding the power button to turn it off, nothing happens and to turn it off I have to switch off the power on the back of the PSU. As a sanity check I've tried a different PSU (both are known to work, but just in case). Not really sure what I could be doing wrong here. Any suggestions?
  2. Thanks mate, appreciate it Credit goes to @LIGISTX though for inspiring me to give it a crack. EDIT: In case you're wondering (since it's probably hard to see the real color) that's a blue switch too
  3. Yeah, when I found out that keyboard switches are momentary like computer power buttons it just seemed like a great fit especially as I had a few of these laying around. Here's a better photo of the cherry switch + breadboard jumper cable combo (ignore the terrible soldering job).
  4. Here's the somewhat finished testbench. I used a cherry mx switch connected to some breadboard jumper cables for the power button but you probably can't see it in this pic.
  5. Just in case someone has a similar issue, it appears that the first two RAM slots were faulty. Putting a stick of the 3rd RAM slot (with the first RAM slot being the one closest to the CPU) appears to have done the trick. Since it's an old board I'll try cleaning the slots to see whether that'll do the trick but I thought I'd post here in case it helps someone else.
  6. Motherboard: gigabyte ga-p35-ds3r CPU: Q6600 Testing some old gear I got off eBay. It came with 4 sticks of RAM and I got an old GPU laying around as well. The PSU I'm trying it with is a Corsair CX650. I've tried reseating the CPU and trying each one of the individual sticks of RAM. It'll wind up, run for a few seconds (the CPU fan will gear up as well as the phase LEDs) before turning off and repeating the cycle. I've never encountered this before and not really sure what the issue might be. Any ideas?
  7. Something is already using port 80, which is used to serve web traffic. This could be from something like apache or lighttpd or nginx running. It could also be from the previous containers you tried creating.
  8. As Darigitin mentioned, it's missing the -d flag as seen in the original post.
  9. You inspired me to give it a crack myself. Just need to get some motherboard mounting screws, and a couple of brackets to hold the PSU and stuff in and it'll basically be done. I'll also add a power switch to it to save me having to short the mobo on each time but overall pretty straight forward.
  10. Looks pretty cool, mate. Got some more pics of it from different angles?
  11. Looking to get myself a test bench. Are there any that are commonly recommended? In terms of cost I'd prefer to get one around $150USD but I might be willing to go for a higher cost one if it's really amazing.
  12. Thanks for the help guys, thought I'd let you know that with a bunch of tinkering around I can now get 5GHz, but at a pretty high VCore setting (1.39V with LLC on High). Because of droop VR VOUT only reads about 1.35V at idle and around 1.29V under load. 4.9GHz can be achieved at around 1.32V so I might just end up doing that, but for now I'm leaving it at 5 for bragging rights and so forth
  13. I was wondering if someone can give me an idea of what kind of system would begin to be inappropriate for Type B and B+? For example is a 2060 with a 3600x considered entry level or mid-range?
  14. I have a corsair h150i pro. It's my birthday coming up and as a bit of a tech present to myself I was considering swapping out the fans that came with my AIO because, well, why not? Will I notice any temperature differences using different fans, if so which ones should I get? I am not really concerned about noise as my PC as it stands currently is pretty quiet but if they're quieter too, what the hell. If I won't really notice temperature differences, then I guess I will have to figure out a different present to myself Thanks,
  15. Thanks for the info. Looks like there's plenty more reading for me to do on this front. Really appreciate the help.
