  1. I just read reviews on Amazon for some of PSUs and sometimes (rarely) it happens so I still want to take precautions. I read about 2 pins method to make PSU work without connecting to motherboard so maybe I should try it and it should be enough?
  2. Hello, I do not have power supply tester so should I power on PC with only motherboard connected for the first time? That is to avoid potential harm to other components if power supply happens to be bad one.
  3. Is there an early warning system on SSDs that will make me be aware of potential failure? I know HDDs have S.M.A.R.T which does that but with SSDs, they just stop working abruptly.
  4. Hi, I am doing a new build with 1x 250GB Samsung SSD and 1x WD 2TB HDD Will this be okay for gaming? All of the games will sit on HDD. Should get another 1x SSD with 3D NAND for "hardware hungry" games? If I get SSD with 3D NAND, isn't there a risk of suddenly losing saved games when drive goes bad? I know that with HDD there is a way to recover data if it goes bad so maybe I should stick to WD 2TB HDD? What are your thoughts?
  5. Can you have a look on this motherboard and let me know if you see ARGB header there? The motherboard is Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite. And if I have say, 3 PWM + ARGB fans, does that mean I will need 3 PWM + 3 ARGB header slots on motherboard?
  6. Hi, I wanted to get 2 Arctic Prizm 120mm coolers for my new case but it seems each fan has 4-pin fan connector and 3-pin RGB connector. I have 2 questions: - Does that mean I will need to buy a fan controller/hub to connect those fans? In that case I would be better off buying a pack of 5 fans that includes fan controller/hub? - If I connect only 4-pin part and leave 3-pin part hanging, will fan still work?
  7. Hello, This Gigabyte power supply has 5 PCI-e slots, correct? Including slots for CPU. If yes, then why does Gigabyte's specifications say it has 6 slots? Here is a screenshot.
  8. Hi, Here's a photo. There are 2 USB+ marks on 2 left ports and 2 ports on the right. What are these USB+ marks and how are they different from USB 3.0? What port would I want to connect uninterruptible power supply, USB keyboard and what port would I want to transfer from/to data? Thanks.
  9. 2018 Black Friday was on November 23rd. This Keepa graph shows that Amazon dropped R7 2700 price from $265.99 to $249.99 on November 20th, 3 days prior to Black Friday. There is a good chance it will do same on this Black Friday based on historical data.
  10. That's one, not so popular cooler right there. At least it's not on Amazon and their official website is not into selling. What do you think about Scythe Mugen Rev.B cooler?
  11. With stock cooler, will Ryzen be more limited in terms of reaching and staying on its maximum speed compared to tower cooler?
  12. Hey... How does Ryzen 5 3600 perform in a hot climate with stock fan and stock thermal paste? I am concerned because in summer, we have temperature 32 to 37 degrees celcius (89.6 - 98.6 fahrenheit) As I am building new PC, I am wondering whether I should go stock fan and thermal paste or go aftermarket fan with aftermarket thermal paste. I will not be overclocking CPU. Thanks.
