  1. Hello. For troubleshooting purposes I want to detect whether there are keyboard keystrokes as well as mouse movement and button activity during idle time. How to do that?
  2. Hello, I have Windows 10 64-bit with current update. I have noticed that some system settings that I have modified and some changes that I have done to Windows registry return to their original state after Windows updates. It gets tedious to apply changes that have been done previously after Windows updates. Is there some kind of script that could automate or ease this task?
  3. Maybe I should just discard them? What difference would skates make? Even new skates. Frankly I don't notice the difference from mice that were manufactured without skates.
  4. Hello, I have 2 Veracrypt Recovery Images from laptop and PC that I want to keep on external storage and use in the case of emergency. I don't want to make bootable CD/DVD for each because I don't have the required devices but want the convenience of USB flash drive. I know there are programs like Ventoy and WinToUSB that allow you to have multiple bootable images on one external storage and choose which one to boot from. Is this possible with Veracrypt Recovery Images? I also want to use WinRar to password-protect these 2 files and store them online in the cloud.
  5. Hi, I had to remove skates and now left with curled ones as well as remainder of glue. Can these skates be straightened back and still useable or I need to order new ones? Either way I will need to get double-sided scotch tape regardless. Also how do I remove that glue? Will I feel any difference considering I use that mouse in office environment? Thanks
  6. Should I take advantage of 5-year license for Acronis True Image for Western Digital? Does it only work with WD products? Website says "This software is available only under a limited time offer and must be redeemed by download and install within 90 days of purchase or by December 31, 2023, whichever is earlier."
  7. Hello, I learned that Samsung Magician software offers to modify default provisioning of 6.7% on its drives. I have Western Digital 1TB NVME SSD that I will be using for storage and video games. What overprovisioning percentage does it have by default? If software does not allow its modification I heard that I can shrink capacity and leave more unused space for provisioning. I was surprised to know that leaving unused space is not all and I need to leave it under partition. Here's the information that I read and I wonder if it is true. I would not want to have 2nd partition: "If your Crucial SSD is in the support list, now go to Disk Management and see if there is such partition available. If not, you can shrink the partition on your SSD and then create a partition for OP. You can shrink the partition and create a new partition using Disk Management. But there is a chance that the Windows tool can't shrink volume. In this case, you can try other partition managers for Windows 10 like MiniTool Partition Wizard."
  8. Is it only media wearout that S.M.A.R.T. can predict? No components acting unusual? Maybe power delivery issues? Other things that can collectively provide information that you can make informed decision on? I am more concerned about malfunctioning and component failure than media wearout.
  9. It requires ongoing checking on my part but why would I have it on my schedule if it can be set up to automatically monitor for me?
  10. Hi. I currently have Samsung NVME EVO 970 Plus with OS and just installed recently purchased WD NVME SN570 drive. I did not have Samsung Magician installed as well but I want to for drive's health monitoring. On its home page Samsung mentions that software works with drives of other manufacturers but some features will not be available. On downloads page it mentions that Samsung Magician does not work with other drives. I know that there is Western Digital Dashboard Monitor for monitoring WD drives but my Samsung main drive is more important for monitoring. Should I pass up on monitoring WD drive? Is it a bad idea to have both monitoring software installed and working in real-time? Thanks
  11. Same model of mobo. Maybe backward USB 2.0 compatibility is disabled in BIOS?
  12. Hi. I have WD 1TB external hard drive that is supposed to be connected only with 1 cable to USB port. It worked this early this year in front panel USB 3.0 ports but now it does not. It is powered on but drive letter does not appear. It works however with 6 ports on rear panel. I tested both front panel USB 3.0 ports with USB thumbdrive and it works. I had motherboard replaced before that so I wonder what could it be that changed and my hard drive refuses to work in them.
  13. Corsair only. RMx or RM line. Is RMx okay? I read it has Japanese capacitors, better fan with zero-RPM feature. I prefer fully-modular. Not sure about SF, CV, CX lines and if they are fully-modular.
  14. Hi, I thought 600W 80+Gold is the one I need but is it overkill for YouTube, internet, Paint.NET or GIMP graphic programs and occasional gaming sessions lasting 4 hours? Here's the specifications of computer I need to know the wattage for: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X MB: Gigabyte Aorus Elite B450 rev 1.0 RAM: 2x8GB 3200MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 HDD: Western Digital 2TB 5200RPM SSD: 250GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus Chassis: CoolerMaster MasterBox MB511 (1 rear and 3 front 120mm fans) Thanks
  15. @TetraSky Thanks for your aid partner but I was looking at forum's own bookmark functionality since I prefer to have bookmarks stored in my profile settings.
