  1. It only happens when the GPU is at 100% usage. My cpu usage has also been all over the place, and when i run cinebench or any other program that maxes out my cpu my pc also stutters in the same way. I havent had as many issues with the cpu maxing out though, and most of the programs I use, while very cpu intensive, don't end up maxing it out in Task manager. One thing I have noticed is occasionally certain windows background processes will use upwards of 30% of my cpu, and ever since I've upgraded my ram more of it seems to be in use when idling. I dont know if these are related but I figured I'd mention them. I'll try checking the event viewer to see if I can find anything useful. Thanks so much!
  2. Hey guys, I've been using an RTX 3090 for a while now but recently it's been acting rather strange. When not being pushed it runs perfectly fine, however, when I begin to max it out it starts lagging every other application I have open. I use a lot of creative applications with live rendering, but these programs would never lag my other programs before, and would only use the resources available to them. Now it seems that they are taking compute power from other more essential processes. I'm not sure what changed either, as I was not having this issue just a week ago. This makes creative workflows incredibly difficult as even my mouse begins to lag. I have updated my drivers but have had no luck. My bios is up to date and I have restarted the computer multiple times. Nothing seems to work. PC specs: Nvidia RTX 3090 Ryzen 7950x3D ASRock X670E Taichi G.Skill Trident Z5 96GB (2x48GB) @6400mhz Maingear IGNITION 1200W PSU Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Yeah, was only gonna transfer things not related to windows. Do appreciate the advice
  4. Thanks, ill see about buying a new drive and transferring everything over. Seems like the best option rn. I really appreciate it!
  5. Exactly. Took almost 30 minutes for 3d mark to load and then in the blink of an eye it looked normal. The second o pressed the x button it took 5 minutes to close and windows itself gave me the blue circle of death. Didn't even know that was possible till today. It also reloaded my icons multiple times and each time it would take about 2 minutes
  6. Got it, im just a bit worried because I do things like YouTube and blender and would need a rather large thumb drive to store all of my important files. I could try compressing my videos but im afraid that will take a while. Thanks though, ill see what I can do
  7. Checked task manager and it says that everything looks a-ok, so I ran a virus scan and something did come up, but after removal nothing changed. I'm assuming its something to do with the drive because mouse movement and game performance are both normal
  8. Thats smart, thanks. Was planning on getting a second ssd for my boot drive but I never got around to it. I don't have a HDD but rather an 860 evo, which is a pretty solid SSD
  9. Boot time takes upwards of 5 minutes if im lucky. I haven't tried sfc /scannow but I will as soon as cmd decides to open. I really wouldn't like to wipe my disk because I have a ton of valuable data on it but if it needs to happen im ok with it
  10. Hey guys, I was minding my own business when I noticed that my pc was running REALLY slow. For whatever reason, launching apps from the desktop can take upwards of 10 minutes and my computer takes 5 minutes just to become usable, and even then not a single program will even launch. Oddly enough, I managed to get 3D mark to run and it looked fine to me, so its not a cpu/graphics card problem, so what could it be? I tried looking online but all I found was simple solutions that didn't do anything at all, like upgrade your hardware or turn off startup applications. Please let me know if there's anything that can be done, thanks! My specs Rtx 3090 3900xt 360mm aio (will expand if needed) 860 evo 1T 64G DDR4 3000 Ram (will expand if needed) 1200W PSU Platinum (or maybe it was gold idk) rating (will expand if needed) Pretty sure thats everything important, as this was running just fine a few days ago.
  11. Alright, thanks. I really appreciate it!
  12. Oh ok, Thanks a ton for this! Do you happen to have any suggestions on what I should do then? Even if its a small OC I'll take it. (Mainly because I don't know what it is set to originally in Ryzen Master XD)
  13. Hey Guys, I was trying to overclock my CPU because i use a lot of CPU demanding programs like Blender. I couldn't figure it out and using PBO just caused me to score lower on Cinebench R20 by a substantial amount. I am afraid to change things in the bios and prefer to use Ryzen Master, however if you guys suggest I go there to change something, I'm open to it. I have a ML360R AIO so I'm imagining that I can push the CPU to its limits, right? If anyone out there has a solid overclock for this CPU, please let me know. I tried searching the internet but I only found people hitting clock speeds of 4.2, which doesn't make much sense to me as the CPU is listed as having a boost speed of 4.6. Programs like Cinebench and 3D Mark list my CPU at running at 3800mhz. I'm new to overclocking CPUs and to be honest, I've watched countless videos and still don't understand. Let me know what you guys think I should do, thanks! -Tim
  14. Hi everyone! I'm sorry to bother you all but I've wanted to make digital music for a while now and many months have gone by without me being able to figure anything out. I'm probably just bad at research but regardless I'm asking for your help. I have tried softwares like audacity, which don't have a system where I can place notes where I want them to be, and softwares like Waveform where I don't know how to do anything. Is there any software out there where I can make midi tracks easily? I genuinely don't know where to start and I wanna make the kind of music you would hear in Terraria. I don't have any hardware except for my computer. Please let me know if anyone knows where I should start, thanks!
  15. So a little while back I bought the Samson G Track Pro and did my best to set it up. I’m using it in my room for recording videos as well as online classes. I’ve been putting this problem aside for a while now but the mic does not like to work as I would expect. It doesn’t sound as crispy as I’ve seen in the reviews of it and I cannot figure out what settings I should use in OBS to get it to sound good. It sometimes sounds noisy, and other configs make it sound like an earrape mic. I have followed a ton of guides and each one seems to be different from the others. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Does it have to do with the USB port I’m plugging the mic into? If any of you guys think you have the time to help me troubleshoot this thing let me know. Sorry to bother you guys, I just wanna make sure I’m getting what i paid for. I’ll provide any info you guys ask for. I also have a mechanical keyboard which makes it hard to configure without hearing the keys louder than me.
  16. Welp, I didn't get any of the cards and 20 minutes after launch, they've sold out everywhere and B & H Photo and Video has crashed entirely... Turns out the performance in blender is as good as they say
  17. I believe it can. I've seen people just have an extra GPU plugged in and it did recognize that there was a second gpu it could use. However, I don't know if it'll let me use OptiX rendering from two GPUs. I know CUDA works for a fact, and at that point, would i just wanna run CUDA?
  18. Yeah, its just that the sooner I get it, the sooner I can streamline my work. I don't mind value TOO much but I do still care at the end of the day i just don't wanna wait another 3/4ths of a year to get a part...
  19. Alright, i figured there wasn't enough information out on the card yet. I'm just worried that if it is as good as they say, it'll already be sold out... And i really don't want to go through another situation like my cpu where i ordered it in summer and got it next easter,,,
  20. Hey guys! I'm back! ...but as usual, I have a question. I have an RTX 2080 and I was thinking about upgrading to the soon-to-be released RTX 3080. would itbe better to buy an RTX 2080ti and Nvlink it together with my current 2080, or should i get the 3080 and sell my current 2080? I've heard that Blender can run multi-gpu setups even without sli or Nvlink, but i also do a lot of gaming as well, and two 2080s (wait, how do you pluralize 2080 without talking about the super?) probably wouldn't do much as dual GPU setups aren't great for gaming (or so i heard). You guys think i should get the 3080, and if so, should I wait for newer models to come out? I'm a bit on edge when it comes to the 3080 because to me it seems just too good to be true. It's gonna sell out instantly and I honestly don't know when the next chance I'll get to grab one is (assuming thats my best bet.) I'll leave my specs below in case there's some other part i should upgrade instead. Thanks a ton in advance! 21. Sorry, I honestly didn't know which topic this would apply to. Thank you for moving this to the correct topic!
  22. Hey guys, I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I really need some help... I'm working on making a film, however I've been stopped dead in my tracks. The film I'm making is about the SCP foundation, and there aren't many high quality models on websites like sketch fab that I can use. Particularly, I need a model of a Mobile Task Force Unit. After searching all over the web and having no luck, I decided to try and rip some custom models from games like Garry's Mod and Arma 3. I quickly realized that I suck at ripping game models because I cannot align the textures with the solider when I use Arma 3, and I cannot find the textures corresponding to a certain mesh when I use Gary's Mod. I used the following programs: Blender - the place where I will animate everything Ninja-ripper - a program I used to rip model files from arma 3 Noesis - a program to quickly view 3d meshes without having to import them all Gimp - the program i use to identify textures Gmad Extractor - the program i used to extract files from Gary's Mod Addons Crowbar - the program i used to convert files from Gmad Extractor into something usable by blender. I've given up on ninjaripper and Arma 3 due to the fact that the textures won't align with the meshes, so I'm working with the Gary's Mod files for now. Gary's mod would be easy to work with if it wasn't for the fact that the models I'm ripping have a ton of different parts. If anyone thinks they might know how to either get the Gary's mod files or better yet, the arma 3 files working, please let me know. I've searched everywhere and I really don't know what to do at this point. Here's a link to the addon page for Gary's Mod if anyone can figure it out: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1687982696download.jfif If someone does know how to rip model files, these are the two MTF soldiers I'm going for. Thank you so much for reading this far. I am deeply sorry that this may not be in the right place but I really need some help. If you need any more information please contact me. download (1).jfif
  23. Hey guys! So I have a Ryzen 3900x and a Coolermaster Masterliquid ML360R AIO cooler. I'm trying to overclock my CPU using Ryzen master but I kinda suck at it... I managed to get the temperature over 100 degrees Celsius, which is obviously not good. Does anyone know what the best overclock to my system would be? I'm looking for an all core overclock. If need be I can show you my Ryzen Master settings. I searched all over the internet and I couldn't find an overclock that worked for me. Thanks!
