  1. So yesterday i was using my pc normally and then, something weird happend. First of all, i have a desktop pc Windows 11 pro Ryzen 5 3400G with apu No external GPU Asrock a320m r 4.0 motherboard Two generic 2600mhz 8Gb ram sticks An old 650w Power supply (I have a feeling this can be the problem) I was playing Outer Wilds in medium settings when the pc goes off. It sounded like a hard reset (pushing the power button and hold for 5sec to power off the pc) and when I power on again... Nothing, no post. So a tried un plugging the pc from the auxiliar power supply I have and plug it directly to the wall socket. Then the pc starting to fail to start, the fans and leds turn on for like a second and then power off again. I un plug the power supply from the motherboard and let it cool down for half an hour, plug it again and tried. Then the pc start normally but no post. I removed the ram sticks and let they on the table for a couple of minutes and plug only one to the motherboard, no post. Tried with the other: FINALLY POST! So, windows starts nornally but, no keyboard, no mouse, well, that's weird. I have a 10 dollar generic office Genius keyboard and a cheap led generic "Gaming" mouse. The leds of the mouse turn on but no driver seems to be found. The keyboard is totally off. I turned off the pc and tried unplugging both and tired usb 3.0 ports, but it doesn't work. Windows starts nornally but no mouse. So I connected via Anydesk from my phone and manage to get to the Device Manager, there's no driver nor driver category to be found in there. Like keyboard and mouse even exists in windows. No inherence hardware even in the list. Check the Human Devices Interface Service, it was disabled, even more weird. Enable it and tried, nothing. Restart the pc, nothing. Service is running but no bueno. Think the entire usb hub was dead, so plug an external hard drive. Works just fine. Plug another usb mouse from my sister's pc. Not work. No usb was left untried. Non of then works. So tried to get to the bios to check if the usb hid was disabled but, of course keyboard doesn't work. Tried plugging a PS2 keyboard, it works! Ok, but I have a hybrid ps2 keyboard mouse port so i still need the usb to recognize my mouse at least. Manage to hack around with the ps2 keyboard on the bios and found nothing referring to the usb legacy mode or so. So i went to the bios battery. Unplug everything and remove the battery, left that way for half an hour. Plug the battery and turn on the pc. The bios was reset but still no usb mouse or keyboard working. Went to the CMOS reset jumper and short it. Again, another reset but no mouse or keyboard working. At this point I have a probably dead 8gb ram stick and a rouge usb hub which recognize everything but an HID. I suspect the power supply is not delivering the correct voltage. I removed every conector and clean it and connecting it again but nothing. I tried the keyboard and mouse on my sister's pc and they worked just fine. At this point i thought windows is missing the driver but even the bios does not recognize the peripherals. So my question is, can a failing power supply cause this behavior in thw usb hub? i gonna try with another Power supply tomorrow.
  2. Well. It was the psu. Just change it and work perfectly. Seem like one of the pins on the main power conector to the motherboard die and not enough power were been deliver.
  3. Btw, the psu fan should get Air in? Or push out? I as i say i replaced the psu fan yesterday and not shure if got the right airflow direction...
  4. Yeah I was thinking the same, the psu must be the problem, but why turn on again like nothing? Voltage problem? And why wont post? I mean, if nothing Even the fans turn on well yes, the psu is dead, but i this case all turn on...
  5. So. I was playing some Battlefield 4 for about 90 mins, then suddenly, I hear a little "click" and both screens got black and pc goes off. It wont post, the 3 fans starts, the blue light of front panel goes on, but not post. So I think it was some overheat protection. Let cooldown for a while and try turn on again, wont post. Let's remove both sticks of ram, and put it in again, try remove the bios battery for 5 mins and let the power button pressed for a minute... Wont post, at this point i was very scared cus i need to work you know and this corona situation dont make it better. Then, i put all together again, but first put the cheap metal case in the ground (maybe static electricity...) then put back into the table again and connect it all, and... It post, the mf post and turn on again as if nothing happen. Then... I turned off to connect a two pin fan I forgot to connect... Then WONT POST AGAIN... So im here sit in my chair asking why all this is happening... Maybe more overheat? I have to say yesterday i have to put apart the power supply becouse the fan failed and the temp go crazy to the point the thing starts smell to burn circuit. The psu is a very cheap 750w one, so maybe can ve that. Idk, for now im going to sleep. If anyone of you guys have a siggestion... Thank you. Pd: my pc specs: Ryzen 5 3400g overclock to 1 volt and 3750mhz (defaults are 0.88 volts and 3700mhz) 2x8gb generic ram sticks Some cheap chinese psu of 750w Mb Asrock A320M HDV (yes it has the latest bios version)
  6. I already fix it, the file system was in GPT, chnaged to MBR and works well. You're right! it was in GPT, changed to MBR and works fine!
  7. So, i have PC with 3 HDD (Two of 1TB and one of 500GB). I have Windows 10 installed in the first 1TB drive and misc files in the 500GB drive. The second drive of 1TB used to have installed Windows 8.1. The thing is, when i boot from the first HDD with W10, i can't see the second 1TB drive, and when i boot from the W8.1 drive, i can see the others drives normally. So i format the second 1TB drive from the Install DVD (i format all the drive and then delete the entire partition, later create a new partition again) But still can't see the drive from windows 10 instalation. The drive shows up in the BIOS as "UEFI Boot Source" (Which have priority to boot for some reason) and the Windows10 Drive appears as "Legacy Boot Source". I have an HP Motherboard compatible with UEFI. My question is: Why the second 1TB (the WIndows 8.1 one) even having delete the entire partition and format, still apear as UEFI and the another drive (the W10 one) doesn't recognize the UEFI one.
