  1. Only been 4 days, so vendor contact it is.
  2. Recently bought this brand new HDD online, but haven't been able to put it to use before now...though now I'm worried about the sounds it's making, should I be? 20230718_132216.mp4
  3. After discussing it with the seller, we've come to an agreement. Because returning it would mean me having to pay shipping and him having a defective drive, I get to keep it. However, I do get refunded the item price and half of the original shipping cost.
  4. There appears to be nothing out of the ordinary with the connectors.
  5. In my case, it had a single sheet of foam wrapped around it, inside a box where it fit very snugly. Albeit no anti-static bag. Asking on the off-chance the drive might not be dead, but how relevant is what I've been told, provided it's true? It was used in a Synology prior to the sale, with a low number of operation hours.
  6. It might be me being naive, but I can faintly hear the drive in question spinning normally when connected to power via an enclosure.
  7. Just to make sure, what would properly packing entail?
  8. I recently bought a second-hand HDD, but Windows appears to be unable to actually detect it. When I tried to go into Disk Manager to format it, I got the message “The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.”
  9. I've been contemplating the purchase of a mini-PC on Minisforum, but I'm not sure if it's better to buy something with RAM and SSD or as a barebone. To help me decide, I'm wondering if anyone knows what brand of RAM/SSD are used.
  10. I switched my old sticks in, but the same problem persists.
  11. 1. Yes. 2. Double-checked just in case, it's in all the way 3. Everything goes on for a few moments, before going off, and then back on by itself and so on. 4. Ryzen 7 3800X, RX570, 16 GB DDR4 3200 (this is the new set that came in today), ASRock B450M Pro4
  12. Update: All fans are now spinning, but still no monitor image
  13. Resetting BIOS appears to have fixed only the CPU cooler's fan issue, nothing else. Right now, it goes to life, before turning off and back on a few moments later, all on its own
