  1. That's exactly my problem. I want to get a later ampere model but also play the upcoming HL: Alyx and Cyberpunk 2077. I need a card that is good enough to bridge the gap to late 2020 / early 2021 ampere models without costing an ungodly amount. If the common sense is that the 2080 or 2080S are worth the extra 200€ i'll consider going that route.
  2. money is not an issue. But I still feel like the 2080ti is too expensive. I'd rather wait for a later ampere card and sell the card I am buying now
  3. so you would recommend a 2070S over a 2080S?
  4. Hey folks, I am upgrading my rig and was wondering which GPU to get. I can't decide between the EVGA FTW3 ULTRA variants of the 2070S 2080 and 2080S. 2070S = 700€ / 2080 = 780€ / 2080S = 870€ I use an 3440x1440 dell aw3418dw any thoughts? Cheers
  5. as far as I know black friday is not as common in germany than in other countries but could help to save some money. Saving money is not my main concern though. Having unlimited budget does not mean to spend an inappropriate amount. I would rather get some advice if a system upgrade is appropriate. I don't need to have the best and newest tech but something that will last the next five years.I dont need the next gen Ryzen or RTX if Ryzen 7/9 and a 2080ti would be a good enough upgrade. Having the newest tech is nice and all but it will come at a premium price tag I guess?
  6. As always: Is there actually a right time to upgrade? I feel like I can save some money by upgrading now instead of waiting for an more expensive but newer generation. Any other thoughts?
  7. Good Point. i could also wait for the new 3x Generation. But they will be pretty costly I guess
  8. Hey there, I am EU based and have basically an unlimited budget. I was considering to upgrade my system already 9 months ago but decided against it after consulting /buildapc on reddit. Now, 9 months later my desire to upgrade my rig has grown from day to day and I was wondering if this comes only from the fact that my system is older than 4 years and I need to have the newest system. My main useacse is graphics / design work and AAA Games. I use mostly Indesign & illustrator with the occasional After Effects and Premiere. I love to play Games on Ultra Settings and with my current Setup Witcher 3 maxes at around 45FPS which is a bummer. I don't want to think about upcoming AAA Games... My current setup: CASE Fractal Define R4 COOLING CPU Cryorig R1 Universal COOLING CASE 3x Cryorig XF140 MONITOR AW3418DW PSU Corsair AX860i MB Asus Z170-Deluxe CPU i7 6700K RAM 4x 8GB G.Skill RipJaws DDR4 2400 CL14 GPU Asus Geforce GTX980 Ti Strix 6GB STORAGE 3x Samsung 840 Pro 256GB I was planning on this build: CASE Fractal Meshify C COOLING CPU Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black / Cryorig R1 Universal (cant decide between the two) COOLING CASE 3x Noctua NF-A14 PWM chromax.black.swap, 140mm MONITOR AW3418DW PSU Corsair RM850X MB ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero CPU AMD Ryzen 9 3900X RAM 2x 16GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600 CL16 GPU EVGA RTX2080 XC ULTRA GAMING 8GB DDR6 or EVGA RTX2080 TI FTW3 ULTRA 11GB STORAGE 2x Sabrent Rocket PCIE Gen 3 1TB What are you guys thinking about my build? Is it to early to upgrade? Should I wait for a new architecture in Hindsight for upcoming Games like Cyberpunk 2077 / BG3 and D4? What are your general thoughts about my build? Cheers
