  1. Hello, I just got a new asus monitor (ASUS ROG Swift PG279QZ 27" WQHD 1440P IPS 165Hz) and I am trying to connect it via a thunderbolt (mini-display port) to a regular display port on my monitor to utilize the full refresh rate (HDMI only supports 60hz). When I connect the DP cable to the monitor it responds by flickering on and off, but then it says that DP signal is not detected and turns off. When I use HDMI there are no problems with the display. I have the MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7, Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Graphics Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB. Thank you in advance for any help, Ryan
  2. They have found that blue light doesn't really harm your eyes in any way and its more about how it disrupts your circadian rhythm. Knowing this you only have to wear them late at night (1-2 hours before bed) if you are looking at your phone screen/monitor. I have some and use them at night and I think they do help me fall asleep faster, and they don't mess with the colors much when I'm gaming.
  3. There are actually a couple of 1440p monitors on the market that are 240hz right now. Just an FYI
  4. Yeah I have been hearing a lot about this monitor for sure. Thank you
  5. Check out the asus 1440p g sync 165hz monitor. Seems like it would be a sweet spot of a good image and higher refresh rate.
  6. Awesome, thank you for your help. I'm now thinking of 165hz 1440p with g sync for sure.
  7. I can spend anywhere from 600-1000$. Yeah I play competitive games, but Im no pro that's for sure haha. Im thinking g sync since I will have a nvida card. Thank you very much for your help, I have been searching for answers everywhere haha
  8. Whats up everyone, I am looking to purchase a new gaming monitor for my computer (i7 9700k w/ EVGA RTX 2080 Super) and I can't decide on certain specs. I mainly play games like Overwatch, PUBG, Call of Duty, Battlefield, and World of Warcraft. I know I want a 27 inch 1440p monitor, but I can't decide if I should go for a newer 240hz with g sync (https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/monitors/gaming/Y27gq-25A19270QY0-27-Monitor-HDMI-SPK/p/65EDGAC1US) (999$), a g sync with 165hz, or skip the g sync entirely and go with the HP omen 1440p with 240hz. Im newer to the pc gaming side of things, so I need your guys help in terms of how much of a difference there is between 165hz to 240hz and g sync versus no g sync. Thank you in advance.
