  1. My audio would cut out for half a second about once every other minute, AMD Ryzen 5700g, RX 6700XT, hooked up to an LG OLED55B8PUA, with audio ouput from the TV to a Vizio Soundbar over E Arc. I was using an Xbox One X HDMI cable. I switched the input from the TV to the Soundbar to utilize the passthrough over Arc, and the audio stopped cutting out. No noticable differences with image quality or with latency.
  2. Numerous articles have popped up all over the place about the rumored "Switch Pro". While the OLED models debut is definitely a disaster for most, does it point to something potentially better? The four main upgrades we received- the OLED screen, the kickstand, the speakers and the dock were lacking the main thing most of wanted; more power. But the one thing that seems to be confirmed is Nintendo's main priority, the gaming experience. Every upgrade the Switch has undergone has benefitted the user experience, increasing battery life (the initial chip uograde in the OG Switch), and now the visual experience with the buily in screen. The Switch may just be too small to pack in 4k gaming power while maintaining battery life. So what options does Nintendo have? External GPUs. What if Nintendo released another dock with an external GPU built in, solely for the purpose of 4k output to the TV? This would allow for lower cost, and it wouldn't impare the current experience with the Switch. While I certainly would like at a FHD display, the 720p screen has a huge advantage for battery life, and is sharp enough for enjoyable gameplay. As an optional accessory, an upgraded dock would allow for mass adoption for those either unwilling or unable to fork out the money for an entire new console. What are your thoughts?
  3. I am curious as to the community's thoughts on phone display resolution. Personally, I find that high refresh rate displays make the user experience more smooth, and higher pixel density eliminates distractions caused by pixelation. Currently the best phone display resolution seems to be QHD (1440p) of various heights ranging from the old standard 16:9 2560p by 1440p to somewhere around 3200p by 1440p (as seen on the S21 Ultra), at 20:9. But Sony is doin something a bit different with their "4k" display on the Xperia 1 series; a 3840p by 1644p 21:9 display. What bothers me is that while it is marketed as 4k, you cannot natively view 4k content at 3840p by 2160p, but are limited to "cinema " content in 4k. It seems very misleading to me. Does this bother anyone else? Is 4k something people really want on their phones? If a display was actually a true UHD display, it would be able to scale quite smoothly with multiple resolutions. HD (720p) is scaled up by a factor of 9, and FHD (1080p) is scaled up by a factor of 4, both of which are common streaming resolutions. The only issue I see is QHD, as there isn't an exact scaling measurement, and the scale is something like 2.25. Would anyone want an ultrawide UHD phone? 5120p by 2160p seems like a decent option, though at the cost of battery life. What is the best possible resolution for a phone?
  4. SSD Upgrade I've been having issues with setting the ssd in my laptop as my boot drive. I verified compatibility (sata) but I haven't been successful with cloning the drive. Halp Please
