Hi there, the legend said for gray, green, gold and blue. What about the PSUs that the text colored in Black?
Black just means "normal" as in, there isn't anything that makes it stand out from the others in their tier.

It's highly unlikely that the failure that these Gigabyte PSUs are seeing would damage any hardware.
Only thing I've seen killed by the P-GMs (other than themselves) are SATA hard drives, but it's not a common issue.

Hey, I'm in the market for another PSU. I'm still using the 650w EVGA GQ I got 5 years ago and it's working fine, but I noticed it was bumped down to tier c (I think all of the GQ's use to be tier B). Any reason why? I was thinking of getting another one of those since this one served me well.
Depends when you last check the list. Was it back when there still was B+ and A- tiers instead of gold and "low priority"? Because B+ tier became B tier, B tier became C tier and C tier merged with D tier (I've type tier so many times, it stopped registering to me as a real word)

The latter, it's a low/mid-range PSU and i'm not even sure if 750W is enough for RTX3080Ti, it's practically a RTX3090. But i guess, if it's your only option then as long as it indeed works - keep it.
Just to add some info, I have a Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 PE 750w, with a EVGA FTW3 3080Ti and haven't had any issues, tested using Furmark and Prime95 on a 9900k with a 4.9Ghz all-core OC.
So the 750w depends on your power supply.
-
Depends on if the GPU has 2 8-pins or 3 8-pins. 750w should be fine for a 2 8-pin 3080 (just check my sig). I wouldn't overclock it, since underclocking would be better in any case. It consumes too much wattage for so little performance gains. Don't know about the 6800 XT, so someone else will have to chime in.
A 850w wouldn't be bad either, and honestly, for purposes of not having to buy another PSU, the MPG 850w for $150 isn't a bad price. Not a great price, but if it means not having to worry about the wattage, I would go for it.

Somoene explain this section.
What needs explaining? They're all tier A, but if you mean what models they are encompassing, I can spell it out. All wattages of the original Leadex Gold model, the 1600w and lower wattage models of the Platinum, the Platinum SE model, the Titanium model, the Leadex II Gold and the Leadex III Gold manufactured before 2020 are all normal Tier A.
the post 2020 Leadex III Gold is and the Leadex III Gold ARGB (Pro is for the black model) are considered some of the best units in tier A.
I assume the HG is probably the ending of the model name for the Leadex III Gold, but if someone else can clarify, that would be great.

Does this list get the analysis consideration of Cybenetics (https://www.cybenetics.com/)?
A example would be XPG Pylon, it is a bronze with silver capabilities, it can hold a middle tier system easily.
80 Plus list loosing their creditability if you research a little deeper.
I mean, the Corsair CX-F is a bronze rated PSU that passed the Silver certification, but it's labelled Bronze by Corsair since it's easier to market than Silver. I suspect this is the same with the XPG Pylon.

Looking to get a new PSU for a system I'm working on Planned build is as follows:
CPU: 5900XGPU: God willing a 3080 from LTT, or somewhere. Possibly EVGA FTW 3, or 3080 ROG Strix OC?, or Gigabyte Aorus Extreme? Something 3080.
MOBO: X570 MAG Tomahawk
RAM - G.Skill Neo Trident Z 32 GB(2x16GB 3600mhz.)
Storage: 2 TB NVME, 1 TB NVME.
I've been out of the loop on PSU's for a while, and aimming for titanium or platinum cert because I'm a bit paranoid on PSU's since I had one go and short out an old system I had like 5 years ago. Thanks!

how about 600 watt for 3070 gpu with ryzen 5600
Depends entirely on the PSU.
I don't know many 600w PSUs, but if it's something like the Corsair SF (if you are doing a SFF build), it should be fine

Planning to replace my old faulty Seasonic M12II 520w EVO with a newer one. And I found this Corsair CX650M as well as Cooler Master MWE Gold 650 v2. But I wonder which one should I pick. I chose 650w so incase I upgrade my CPU/GPU in the future I will have some extra wattage. Currently using the following specs:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 (Stock)
- GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
- MOBO: Asrock AB350 Pro4
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 16GB (2x8GB 3200mhz)
- STORAGE: 1 TB NVME / 240 GB M.2 SSD / 1 TB HDD
My budget is max $110 or ₱5,200. There's other PSU to choose from here, if you could recommend other from the available brands there. Thank you!

I don't really need 750W for my build (I have a 3060ti and 5600x), but what's the difference between RM and RMx?
Basically a cost-reduced RMx with lower-quality caps. It's still a good PSU, but not as good as the RMx

I have a few PSU options, all at the same price, but I really don't know what's the best choice here. Maybe some knowledgeable people can help me.
- Seasonic Focus GX 650W
- RM650x
- RM750
- Chieftec PowerPlay 650W
- XPG Core Reactor 650W
I only use my PC for gaming and rendering. No overclocking.
Going by build quality: RMx, PowerPlay, RM, GX, Core Reactor (same as GX).
I personally like the Corsair customer service, so I recommend either the RMx or RM (RM only if you need that extra 100w). Never had Seasonic, but they are also a good choice from what I hear.

I hope this should be on PSU Tier List very soon in near future to info us about it. PSU Tier List is very important to us which to buy right power supply for us.
You know...you could just use the spreadsheet, which is updated way more often as more info and reviews are put out. You would know that the Legion Gold HX is already on there and is Tier B low priority. It's low priority since there are no professional reviews on it currently

Neutral pin got burned....poor contact with the PSU socket, most likely. It's not a problem with the PSU itself, it's a problem of not having the cable properly socketed. Either that or your outlet isn't wired correctly.
At least, those were the problems I've dealt with, with previous builds that had the cord melt

According to the tier list, the Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 ARGB is Tier A Gold, but it's the 850W version, so I guess they might differ?
What??? I don't see any wattage listed next to it. It means all wattages of that model (both the GF1 ARGB and non ARGB) are Tier A

I just got a Corsair AX850 and it was dead out of the box. Corsair has informed me it is now discontinuted.
Wait, AX850 Gold or Titanium, since the Gold release way back in 2010 and has been discontinued for a while. the Titanium should still be in production.

What is the difference between CX and CX-M? Forgive me if I am reading this incorrectly, but CX seems to be on A tier while CX-M is on B-tier.

buy one from cooler master or evga or something. buy from a brand YOU RECOGNIZE and thee will be no danger.
*laughs in Gigabyte P-GM, EVGA N1/N2, and Cooler Master Elite*
Anyways @HadHaw, the TX650M is a great choice for the price. As long as GPUs don't jump in power consumption like they did this with the RTX 3000 series, 650w should be enough for mid-range cards for a while.
If you want a 750w for future-proofing, the BitFenix Formula Gold, Corsair RM, and the Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro are some of the choices you have, along with the 750w TXM

This one is txm placed on tier a? I ask for the fact that in the list says 2017, so Idk if only the psu frabricated in 2017 are on this place
Yes it's Tier A. No, the 2017 doesn't mean they were only fabricated in 2017, that is just when they started selling (i think). The TXM is still in production. The reason for the 2017 is to differentiate it from the old TX-m Bronze from 2011, and the other old TX models from 2007-2011.

Used to watch LTT until a couple years ago, moved onto GamersNexus and HardwareUnboxed. My take is that Linus fucked up and is deflecting all blame from himself. What they did to the prototype from Billet Labs and the video they created for it is shameful. I remember why I stopped watching in the first place.
There is also the rushed scheduling for videos that allow for multiple mistakes to get by, including bad test results. They are a multi-million dollar company, and they are worried about $500? Must be running on thin margins if taking the little amount of extra time to correct their mistakes breaks the company budget.
