Hello, as my motherboard came with a USB Type-C port, I thought why not use it to charge my phone while sitting at the PC? I have a Galaxy A41 and bought this cable: HOCO X62 Fortune, 1.5 m, 100W, 5A. Plugged it into both ends and it just disconnects/reconnects every 1 second ad infinitum. Meanwhile, it is charging (fast even!) (Later edit: scratch that, it is actually not - I also tried charging my powerbank and the light is turning on and off and on and off), but I obviously can't use it like this (see attached video2022-01-27 22-55-47.mkv). I immediately thought the cable is at fault, so I tried it on someone's laptop's Type-C port and it works flawlessly: great transfer speeds, fast charging, stable. So I'm thinking there might be a problem with my recently installed Windows 11, so I tried a live Ubuntu system: same problem. So I guess my motherboard is to blame? The BIOS is the latest version: 4.20, and all other drivers are installed and up-to-date. Here are my specs:
Patriot Viper 4 Series 16GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Dual Channel Kit
ASRock B450 Steel Legend (4.20 BIOS)
SSD Silicon-Power P34A80 512GB PCI Express 3.0 x4 M.2 2280
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6GHz box
Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT PULSE 8GB GDDR6 256-bit
Seasonic Core GM, 80+ Gold, 650W
Windows 11 21H2 - 22000.438
Any idea what else to try? I'm thinking that maybe getting an original Samsung cable might make it work, but why does this Hoco work on the laptop and not on my PC?
Anyway, thanks for reading and for any ideas you might have.
