Yeah that's a hard no from me.

This is definitely not intentional, we've had Amazon banner ads running on here for years and I never realized it has this tracker until reading this post. Like others have pointed out, we don't strive to "make money" from the forum, so its not worth it to us to have these ads on the site. I'm removing them now.

Hey, yeah I would really like if they could just post them on the forum as well. I'm not the kind of guy who wants newsletters in my inbox, I just don't. But if there was a place where they are stored and where I can catch up on older ones, I might just read some when I find the time for it.

Have y'all heard of "i don't care about cookies"? It's a browser extension that does exactly what most people would want to do anyways: Reject all non-essentials. Plus it gets rid of the cookie consent popups. Then also enable cookie auto-deleting when closing your browser (Edge and Firefox have this feature afaik, not sure about other browsers) and you can also be free of all the hassle revolving around cookies.

Regardless of how big or small the issue is, it is still a bad design because it's an issue that don't have to exist.

I imagine they wont announce a replacement for this 😅
 

Just because their primary product isn't tech related, doesn't mean that McDonalds doesn't contract out their tech to someone who should know better, or employ hundreds of people to manage their technology, networks and infrastructure, who should also know better.

Fanboy accusations, mocking, and generally "shitting" on people for their choice of hardware isn't allowed as per the community standards ... and is (in my personal opinion) rather pathetic.

At the moment, only home appliances. However, other items are being discussed in parliament and this law can, and hopefully will, have amendments to cover additional product groups in future.
