  1. At idle I can't hear a thing. And my tower is at my head level. (See pic below.) Full load: I sadly don't have a decibel rating. But if I take my headphones off I can hear the GPU fans ramp up a bit. When I would set the case fans to high speed setting (switch) I still couldn't hear them. (Let me put this caveat out there, I used to stand watch in an engine room on an aircraft carrier. That was a constant 90DB for 9 years. Even with single hearing protection the whole time, I have tinnitus.) I will try to download a sound meter to my phone tonight, and record the numbers for you at each level.
  2. I have only used air cooling in my builds since 1995. Less moving parts, easier to maintain. It's like cars, you want more performance, then you are going to spend more and have to do more preventative maintenance to maintain that level of performance.
  3. Well, you could just water cool it with 2 radiators. In the Lancool 2 Mesh Performance, you can fit a 360MM in the front and a 280MM in the top. That might give you some good cooling for the CPU. I do recommend the Mesh Performance as your case. I really enjoy having it.
  4. I also have the Lancool 2 Mesh Performance. It will hold all your current drives. There is a HD cage in the PSU shroud for 3 HDDs and there are slots for 4 SSDs on the other side. Hopefully you can see in these photos...
  5. @flickofdawrist @TVwazhere I currently have both cases. My desktop is in the Mesh Performance, and my son's is in the 215. The 215 is much lighter, only has glass on one side which is screwed in place instead of being a hinged door. The metal on the 215 feels like a cheaper/thinner steel compared to the aluminum of the Mesh Performance. I believe that the 215 is smaller, at least it seemed that way when I put his together. (moved his system from a Skeria 500X to the 215.) Having the fan controller in the front IO on the Mesh Performance is nice. In the beginning I would manually switch back and forth. But honestly I just leave it on medium or MB now. The preinstalled case fans don't seem all the loud to me. (I have my case on my desk, while my son has his on the floor[not on carpet]). Although are components aren't as new as yours are: He has a RX 5700XT for graphics while I have a used GTX 1070. I run a 3600 while he has a 2600X, both with stock coolers. Personally I think my MB is better. Not sure if that makes a difference, except with VRM temps. (Tomahawk vs Gaming Edge, both X570) If you want any other kind of data or photos, I will see what I can get you.
  6. Can I ask the reasoning for your monitor choices? I am guessing the smaller one is for just a secondary display for stats and less important programs that you still want to see how much they are. Personally I prefer an Ultrawide. https://dk.pcpartpicker.com/product/gvJmP6/gigabyte-g34wqc-340-3440x1440-144-hz-monitor-g34wqc This is the one I recently got myself, for a main display. Sadly I don't know the kronar? to euro conversion for the price, if it fits your budget. Your build sounds like it is going to be pretty nice. I hope you share some photos when you get it all together.
  7. Thanks for sharing!! That looks really nice! When I was debating about which case I wanted to get, Fractal was my first choice. Then the Lancool II Mesh came out. And since I had time to wait for other components, I went with it.
  8. No worries. It should look cool when you done.
  9. I would go with what I have, the Lian Li Lancool II Mesh. The NH-D15 will fit. And you didn't say which MSI 3070 you had, so I just took the longest one at 335MM, the case can fit 384MM.
  10. More airflow is ALWAYS better. As someone who just moved into the Lancool 2 Mesh Performance, Everything is much cooler.
  11. I love my Lian Li LanCool II Mesh. But good luck finding it for MSRP. I had to pay $120 when I did find it. There are A LOT of options. It's up to you. Higher budget means more and better options, included fans and what not. Also, look to see if your CPU cooler and GPU can fit into the case you like. If you narrow your choices down, hopefully we can give you more pros and cons.
  12. This was going to be my suggestion. I got lucky and was able to put my son's configuration in it. Finally for his RX 5700XT to stop black screening from overheating! And it was $80USD.
  13. I completely get you there. Is your leg room ok with it on the inside of the desk leg? One of the reasons I built a slightly wider desk and made risers so I could have the tower on top of the desk to give me more leg space.
  14. I am curious as to what kind of case you are running in? I would think that it would help figure out the answer. I personally am running the 3600 with it's stock cooler and my idles are around 55C after being heat soaked. But I do have an airflow case (LanCool II Mesh).
  15. @Sentinel-R1I was thinking the same thing, you are basically going to need to DIY it. At least with that, you should be able (I think) to get the color to match on all the interior panels. I know that for my daughter's build (coming in Fall 2022) I am going to have to paint it myself for the colors that she wants. Good luck. and Personally, I think a black exterior with a white painted interior, would look pretty cool. Especially if you use an automotive paint that would probably reflect more of the light inside.
  16. You can always just place the RGB cables in a daisy chain (I think??) Of course I am OLD and I don't use RGB as much as my kids do.
  17. remove all panels. Drill more holes in them. Setup a box fan to blow more air on it.
  18. Personally I wouldn't worry about lowering the voltage. Of course I am in the same boat as @flashiling. I haven't changed the voltage on my system in probably 18 years or more. (I believe I under-voltaged my Slot-A Celeron back in 1999) I would at least try putting one fan (the one currently mounted to the top) in the front and see what that does. (put it in the middle position of the front mounts.) If that lowers your temps at all, then spend the money on some fans. (I think Artic 120mm 3-pack is the normal recommended) Your case doesn't have a lot of breathing room in the front, but some colder air coming in will help.
  19. This is the biggest problem. WAITING. You have to balance the point of waiting for the next best thing and when you want/need to build. Granted LOW (and I mean LOW [at least in the USA]) stock has everyone basically waiting right now. I just hope this changes by summer 2022, when I have to build my daughter's college computer. (SFF for graphic arts/light gaming).
  20. AHHHH See I misread that as well. Heck I have two degrees, neither of which helps my current job! Bachelor's in Business Admin and a Master's in Project Management. I work as a Non-nuclear work control technician and test director on aircraft carriers.
  21. We have the Autonomous Ergo Chair 2. Very comfortable and sturdy!!
  22. Did it come with a 3.5MM cable like the G935 has? Have you pushed the reset buttons on both the Dongle and on the headset itself?? Have you contacted Logitech support? I am in the middle of RMA'ing the G935 set we just bought. The right speaker doesn't work after 2 months.
  23. I just recently purchased the Roccat Vulcan Pro keyboard. They do make a TKL version if you wanted something a little smaller. It has been working very well. The key caps take a bit of getting use to. But gosh the actuation is quick.
  24. This was my recommendation. But if I was going to choose something else, YEAH, the BeQuiet PureBase 500Dx. Mainly because the Lancool II Mesh Performance did NOT come with USB-C. I ordered it separately and installed it. Would have been nice if it was done already!!! Seriously, $15!! GEEZ.
  25. I have built in the 215 and the II Mesh. Looking at the 205M, Yeah I would definitely recommend that! if looking for a Micro ATX case.
