  1. I was curious when I saw a notification about this Tesla thing on LTT and some of the other channels. Sadly, I didn't think to investigate. I had a long day by that point. I am glad that the LMG team was able to recover from this.
  2. So there have been a few upgrades since the last time I remarked on this. I did get a Gigabyte 34" Ultrawide 2K 144Hz monitor. My plan was to get a mount to put the old Ultrawide above it. But my brother-in-law was asking me about a cheap PC that he could play SWTOR on. Funny thing, My old setup did exactly that. And my wife wanted more stuff out of the garage, so I put some pieces back into my old case. I cleaned out the dust, put some other drives into it. Let him pick out a keyboard and mouse from my pile. Then gave him the old Ultrawide. Needless to say, I took his breath away. I told him, I would rather give my stuff to family then try to sell it. First change was keyboard. I got a Roccat Vulcan Pro full size mechanical-optical keyboard. Then a Razer Deathadder wireless mouse. Bought a GN wireframe mouse Autographed and an iFixIt pro tool kit. Then I got my first aftermarket CPU cooler, the Vetroo V5 Black cooler. A Leven 2TB SSD Sabrent 1TB NVMe Gen 4 drive for doing video conversion on. Lastly Artic 120MM x2 and 140MM x2 fans. Sorry for taking it with the glass on. The 120MM fans pull air through the PSU shroud and one 140MM fan is after the CPU cooler to aid exhaust. So far temps have gotten much better. At idle the GPU is about 34C and 53C with the GPU fans at full throttle while gaming. The CPU runs about 53C pretty much at idle and full load. And the color on the CPU cooler is not for aesthetics, it indicates the temperature of the CPU. Blue is <40C, Green is 40C to 80C (I think) and Red >80C. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I had one of the 140MM fans pulling air from top before the CPU cooler. It didn't seem like it helped my temps.
  3. Here are some on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Zmbroll-Standoffs-Universal-Motherboard-Screwdriver/dp/B08R658PF9/ref=sr_1_3?crid=L3KPFL01M8YH&dchild=1&keywords=motherboard+screws+and+standoffs&qid=1629316325&s=electronics&sprefix=motherboard+screws%2Celectronics%2C168&sr=1-3 It's ALL the screws you need and then some.

  5. Before I had mine on the left but it didn't have a window so it didn't matter. Now: Mine is on the left side and on a riser. (I did make the desk myself.) And my Cable management is a bit better. Before: After I need some newer pics since I upgraded a couple of things since these were taken. I hope it helps.
  6. Now I feel really OLD. I have copies of Windows back to 95. I never kept my copy of 3.1 with MS-DOS 6.7. Luckily, they don't take up much space in my CD/DVD catalog.
  7. I look at it this way. As long as your Brick cable is plugged into a surge suppressor or even better a UPS, you will be absolutely fine. ALL my electronics are plugged into at least suppressor. It will give your electronics clean power, which is what helps them last longer. My only thought on the plugging and unplugging of the brick to the laptop, is that it will wear down (VERY minutely) over time. But as long as the male end of the connector stays in the female end, then it will be fine. I hope this explanation is what you were asking.
  8. I once took a trip to San Diego on an airplane. I bought some carry straps so I could carry on my computer FULL tower. My travel bag had all my cables and keyboard & mouse. (That got swiped by TSA for all the PCB boards on X-ray. LOL) People were floored that I was travelling with a desktop computer. I got asked why I didn't just have a laptop. My reply, "A laptop isn't powerful enough for needs." Luckily it fit in the overhead bin, and under the seat in front of me. (Well TSA says you can bring a computer and a carry on bag with you. So I did. This isn't the exact one I had (couldn't find it) but this should help. https://www.amazon.com/Trunab-Carrying-Computer-Headphone-Transporting/dp/B08MWFW742/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=computer+tower+travel+straps&qid=1629117829&sr=8-5
  9. It would really depend on the amount of dust your place has in it already. How often do you need to dust your shelves, ceiling fan and your TV in your house currently? Dust comes from human skin, dander comes from animals. If you smoke, then you have tar particles in the air. My house has 4 humans and 8 felines indoors. My son has a LanCool 215 on the floor. It accumulates some dust, and he doesn't clean it. (typical college kid, LOL) But I have YET to see any change in his performance running Ryzen 5 2600X with RX 5700XT OC. My LanCool II Mesh accumulates some dust. I just wipe off the front mesh with my hand and my top filter the same. My case runs it's fans at high speed pretty much all the time. (I use the fan switch mostly to control case fan speed.) I only run a Ryzen 5 3600 with a GTX 1070. Still no changes on my system either. My case is on my desk. I apologize for the long post. But I hope this information helps.
  10. Actually, the Artic P12 and P14 PWN fans come with the splitter already in the wiring for the fan. If I remember correctly. (I installed the P14s almost 2 months ago, still waiting to drill out the screws so I can install the P12s in my case). This is the 120MM fans I bought.
  11. If you look at the underside of the front cover, there should be what you could think of as a grab handle. It should be removable so you can clean the fans in the front easier. Also, my guess is that the font panel is plastic; where as the rest of the case is mostly metal. Let us know how it goes.
  12. I typically just wipe it off with my hand, then get on computing. But since it is metal, I would think any cleaner would work. Spray said cleaner onto the RAG, then wipe. That way you don't spray cleaner all over your components. Good Luck.
  13. Could I ask what kind of smoke you used to test airflow? I accidentally mounted the front top fan as intake instead of exhaust (LanCool II Mesh) so it blows air in front of my Vetroo CPU Air cooler. I haven't installed the fans on the PSU shroud yet. Darn Screws are TIGHT!!!
  14. I haven't seen it yet, but Black Light would look very interesting in a White case. Who doesn't love some UV lights? HA HA
  15. I understand. Been married for almost 27 years now. I hope those fans help.
  16. This is a bit Janky but you could just set a desk/floor/box fan to push more air to the intake, possibly lowering your initial intake. Or be SUPER JANKY and use a dryer duct line to funnel the air from your air conditioner to the intake of your case. (actually, it would be cheaper to buy the Artic fans!! LOL) Or you could just turn up the volume in your headphones, so you can't hear them.
  17. One question I didn't see asked was, what Motherboard do you have? Just curious to see if it is an EATX in order to have enough room for your 3 GPU setup now. Are you using riser cables currently because they can't fit with your current setup? Or, do they all fit next to each other on the Motherboard? Which would allow you to have them all mounted horizontally. This one will have a good amount of dust over time, depending on the number of people in your house. The type of ventilation your domicile has, also how many pets, etc. Sorry about the questions, but it will help us to help you, better than guessing.
  18. My suggestion would be the Lian Li LanCool 2 Mesh Performance. It has great thermals on the GN chart. I found it very nice to build with. I pretty much have the case fans running in HIGH all the time and I can't hear the difference in speeds, and the case sits right in front of me. The Performance model doesn't have RGB fans. I love this case!
  19. Hey everyone, I finally did some upgrades to my rig. (CPU cooler, 2 drives and 4 fans) Normally I only install new hard/solid state drives or the occasional video card. So don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my Lancool II Mesh Performance case. But I decided to install some more fans. 2x 140MM Artic in the top and 2x 120MM Artic in the PSU shroud. Here is the issue, Has anyone else had an issue with the original screws not wanting to come out from the PSU shroud. I got one of the four. It got so bad, I pulled out my impact driver with 90 degree bit to try and loosen them. Still No luck. My plan is to soak them with PB Blaster the next weekend I have some time. (going to use a Q-tip to apply it to the screws, I am not the Verge and going to apply the spray straight from the can.) I have taken some photos and video of the before. Just need more of the after. Thanks for reading.
  20. My new case (Lancool 2 Mesh), I wipe off the front and top when I see dust build up. We have 8 cats and No carpet. When I install my CPU cooler and case fans, hopefully a NVMe drive as well soon, I plan to wipe down the interior. At least I don't put the case on the floor anymore.
  21. There are many options that everyone is going to throw at you. @TVwazhere was a HUGE help when I was asking questions about my upgrade last year. I bought the Lancool 2 Mesh Performance (Non-RGB). It was under $150 because it was not in stock at the time I purchased it. The fit and finish is great! Way better than the older cases I have built in the last 15 years. It flows a great amount of air at my components. And hopefully more, when I add a couple more fans and change my CPU cooler.
  22. Pretty much. RGB software can be fickle. I built my son an all MSI build, but Mystic Light wouldn't recognize his MSI keyboard, mouse, headphones or the case. His Corsair memory wasn't seen either. Just his MB and GPU were seen by the software. It's funny, he asked for RGB stuff, but then doesn't make any adjustment???? Kids these days.
  23. Also with that solid front, you really wouldn't get any air to move through the AIO if placed there. Like @Stahlmannsaid, go with a mesh front case. I currently have the Lian Li Lancool II Mesh Performance and my son has the Lancool 215. Here you can see what real airflow would be against my old 10/12 year old case.
  24. Thanks. We just bought some paint to try out on my old Antec case. Going to see what color and finish work for her. It's going to be some form of purple.
  25. AH, I got you. Basically like what I am doing. My am building my daughter's Graduation PC next year. (Hopefully GPU stock will be balanced by then.) I have it down to either the H1 or the Meshilious.
